    I like the new 4 track tractors, those 2 track really mess the ends up when turning.

    Of course, I wasn't there to observe up-close, but it appears the ripper is set a little too shallow. A good deep rip should leave the surface almost un-tilled. should not be bringing up copious clods and loose soil.

    need to double up the shanks for this.

      Its kind of no-till tillage. They run 18 inches deep to break compaction but leave the surface undisturbed.

      Not at all. This field was planted in wheat in June. Harvested in June and a second crop of soybeans planted behind the combines. The double crop soybeans are harvested in November. There are two planting passes, two combine passes, two grain cart passes, 6 sprayer passes. That’s allot of compaction. This subsoiling breaks up compaction for next years corn crop. In the spring they no till the corn on this field. It works well.
