Enjoy this informative video on a budget/entry level piece of kit. Please recommend any other tools or pieces of equipment you would like me to build & review.

The laser i think is useless and needs alignment every time the work table change its height or place a different piece for drilling and also due to the distance is hard to remain absolutely centered. In every case you can't rely on it.All the other looks great for the money.500W motor with two belts/3 wheels can go down to 300RPM for drilling serious pieces of metal.

Good review,... I guess from the accent you were Mad for it?... ;).. (PS Manc here too,..). I have the D4 and it did take a little bit of fettling, ie adjusting the spindle wobble via the screw behind the power switch , and fitted a slightly longer (+100mm) column tube to give a more versatile drilling range.

Would you recommend it. What's the smallest drill bit it can hold?

Is your emergency stop still working? Mine felt apart after 3 or 4 usages - not in emergency, but nicer to reach, than the regular off.
P.S.: The music is too loud. I hear this at night, and in comparison with your voice, the music is much too loud, waking up my neighbors. BTW.: If I were out for music, I would choose other channels. :)

Which is better D4 or E5?

There isn't much performance specification difference. The E5 has an additional motor lever arm for ease of changing the belts for different RPM. Also, a laser has been added for improved drilling accuracy which is a decent feature on such a budget item. Hope this helps.

@@restoreitbuilditfixit7163 Very helpful, especially noting that there is an adjustment for the wobbling spindle.
I was hoping you'd comment on how to get the laser to work -- nothing happened when I tried it, apart from the knurled adjustment wheels sliding off the rods they were supposed to turn. There was no cross hairs image showing on the workpiece, and I couldn't figure how it could be projected onto where the drill bit would fall anyway. Any advice?
