I’m 57 and the same thing happens to me. My tears come from knowing just how unworthy I am and what a grand and magnanimous sacrifice Christ’s atoning death is.

You know I hear Christians talk a lot about how they serve Christ. But it isn't the sheep that bring food to the shepherd to eat, Nor do they bring him water to drink nor protect him from dangers whether it be predators or just the elements of nature. It is the shepherd who provides the sheep food and water for nutrition and security and protection from all kinds of dangers. So the question is who serves who?

Amen what a wonderful poem
As a young 10 year old boy watching the crucifixion of Christ in a movie back in the 1960's I remember so clearly the voice of Christ in my heart saying, "I did this for you!" Ever since then I have continually come back to the Cross where my salvation was hammered out by my Redeemer.
You said the exact word friend, my salvation was hammered out by the Roman soldiers in flesh and blood on the cross. Thank god the Lord included me...

@@ajikoshy89 I grew up in the Pentecostal church. Jesus was talking to everyone. Jesus told Oral Roberts that he would kill him if he didn't raise $10 million to build something or other. Google it. Point being, people "hearing" Jesus have an active imagination.

That's my favorite song. I was saved at 43yr old. Praise God. I thought I was saved all my life, but I lived and looked like the world. So I know I was lost. And I know I am found.
Jesus never referred to anyone as a sinner.He used the word lost.If something is lost it means it has value. Live knowing you are loved.All your sins where nailed to the cross.

Clyde is heading in the right direction. If we could eradicate the word Sinner from the vocabulary of believers we would do such a great service to undue the weight of religiosity that has been thrust upon believers. The old you died with Christ. You are a new creature not identified by what you do but by birthright. You are no longer in the line of Adam but reborn into the line of Christ. Oh that the church would learn to walk in this truth. There is now NO condemnation for those IN Christ Jesus. His yoke is easy, His burden is light, come unto Him and allow Him to rest you.
My nieghbor showed me this video and I have been changed ever since can’t stop watching this it makes me excited to see what God is going to do with my life.

The combination of a sense of humor to illustrate TRUTH that the man on the middle cross said I could come both illustrated truth and brought tears to my eyes. God grant me daily insight to look to the risen Savior

Glory be to God, Pastor Begg was instrumental in me coming to Christ. As I watched this video clip, and heard this message again, my eyes were directed to some sitting in the background with expressions that seemed murderous. God bless this man and protect him from wolves that surround him.
Lord, forgive me, for I am a sinner. I have tried to follow you, Lord, but I am weak and a failure. I'm so sorry, Lord.
We are all sinners and failures when it comes to Christ.
Praise God that He is the one who keeps us, we cannot do it in our own power. Its only by God's Grace.

i’ve been a Christian my whole life, but it’s taken me until now to understand this. the words “because i believe” have actually fallen off of my lips. it is NOT because I believe. that would imply i deserve to be there and i absolutely do not deserve to be there. it is because the Man on the middle cross said i could come.

@@1john4six if we are to only read from the King James bible Does that disclude the original Greek and Hebrew texts? also I noticed you did not at all address his actual theology in any meaningful way. The Bible is far more than one translation, especially if it is not the original.

My husband and Mom, now with the Lord, were both devout Catholics, but when I asked them what they would answer when they get to the pearly gates and God asks them why should He let them into heaven, they didn't know. I told them, "You say, 'Because Your Son died for me, and He forgives me all my sins, and He will welcome me with open arms,'" and made them repeat it.

I guess the devil and a handful of imps were forced to watch it...
They believe that Christ will save man by grace. But they believe that it is after all that man can do. So there is salvation by grace, but works are still an important aspect of life. The idea that I can just tell "Jesus to take the wheel" whenever, without having made any effort at all on my own to solve my problem denies my own divinity. Because truly Christ was the Son of God, but he also gave men the power to do the same.
It may be Church of Christ legalists that can’t stand the fact that the thief on the cross was not baptized. All things are possible WITH GOD, only believe.

The change of mind…he understood he was there “guilty” but the man in the middle (JESUS) he was there innocent. He was saved because he believed that Jesus was able!

Christ tells us in Luke 15 that He is the Good Shepherd who leaves the 99 to seek out the one lost sheep. He tells us that He is the physician who came for the sick, not the healthy. Even on the cross, even in His final moments, He remained a shepherd and doctor.

The question was posed in Evangelism Explosion (James Kennedy) many years ago. The only try answer is only by the blood of Christ that I am saved. It is preceded by this question. "Have you come to the place in your life where you know that if you died, you would go to heaven?"
