that must be the chillest cop ever doing 150mph looking like hes on a sunday drive
He's undoubtedly a trained advanced driver, a very tough course to get through. They are so skilled that it's almost impossible for them to have an accident. It's all about reading the road ahead.
Thing is motorway in UK are so straight compared to Ireland it's not that difficult to get to these speeds. Safe no but unbelievably straight
It was F1 driver like. Only the few can drive at that speed so chilled.
Clearly an advanced driver.
@@alansimpson596 almost impossible? Don’t talk daft.
He looked chilled at those high speeds. I wonder if it's certain cars? Certain cars don't feel fast when you're going fast? No shaking, vibrating, feeling uncontrolled etc?
It's funny how calm and polite the officer is being during the whole pursuit.
It's not a pursuit. He hasn't signalled for him to stop. It's not likely to be deemed a "pre-planned pursuit" either yet as there is no real belief by the officer that the vehicle is likely to fail to stop, like it would if it was "stolen" or the male inside was known to be wanted.
This is called a "follow" in police terms. You are behind a vehicle which you have an interest in, you have not indicated for the vehicle to stop yet, and typically they are unaware of your presence.
Funny how the police can go as fast as they like ? I want equal rights
I like the way speeding offenses are handled over there. As an American It seemed so strange seeing the situation handled in that manner.
I am a retired road patrol officer from Scotland. It is not that we are chilled nor do we have a death wish. It is down to superior driver training over a long period of time and the apparent chilled out mien is in fact total concentration on the pursuit in hand.
No miracles, just a lot of hard training and experience.
Wow, pulled over the offender without gun drawn, without yelling obscenities, and without taking him to jail. Maybe our justice system can learn something from them.
That's so funny :D
I've written with some guys under an American video where exactly this happened and they are completely intransigent and tried to explain me that this is obviously necessary, because the driver could draw a gun himself. And I was just like: "Yeah, but that's such an American problem :D"
They have a different society. They dont have near the crime rates and gun related homicides.
Maybe our criminals could learn something from the offenders over there.
The use of guns is necessary in the USA due to the public also having access to weapons. You cannot compare the reaction of a UK cop to that of a US cop as the society is different.
@@andrewsavage1872 hmm, maybe or maybe not? This was an extremely aggressive speeder, no different than what we have here in the states. Only difference is the way the situation was handled by law enforcement. If you see something different, please expand..

150mph and the copper is driving one handed whilst using radio, despite having hands free radio in the car. It’s a joke to argue it’s ok because he’s trained.
Usually the Mainset in the car will be pan-division and his personal radio will be on a local channel. Hence, rightly or wrongly he’s using his PR to ask local officers for help on the hurry up. If he has to jump out in a hurry or a foot chase ensues the pan-division channel would probably be useless because the closest units will most likely be on the local channel.
In my experience police vehicles never had two radio sets. The mainset was only ever a pan-divisional set and you had to use your PR if you wanted help quickly.
Incidentally there is a legal exemption for using a two way radio whilst driving.

If the Autobahn is clear there's no problem to push it to the maximum speed of 160kmh/100mph and scratch your nose for a second.
150mph? I can hear DMO laughing from here fam HAHA
Respect for how chill the cop is.
"the world fell out of his backside" 😂🤣
Gets a 3 month driving ban. Still drives his car from the point of where he was stopped by the police.
When you drive that fast you have to go to court first after which your driving ban starts. my dad got caught at 116kmh in a 70kmh zone and it took over a year before he got an 8day ban.
@@woutvanaelst854 : But it still makes no sense. In many other countries the police will take your driver license on spot for such offenses. Do they let drivers stopped for DUI drive away like that in the UK also?
@@gluehead3640 you have to give your driver licence away but you choose when, and it first needs to go to court
@@gluehead3640 For driving under the influence you need to sober up at the station before you can drive. After that though I think it works the same. You go to court to determine the charge and bans start from then when they're determined. Officers don't do that here for more severe stuff or driving over 100 mph/XX mph over the limit, maybe 30mph over lower limits, but I don't know for sure.
Watching these two my heart ❤ was pumping 150mph 😅😅😅
He lived for this day
Just to make a quick point. If he is doing the same speed as the guy he is chasing without any emergency signals at all, is he not endangering the public just as much as the bloke he's chasing? What if some motorist doesn't see him coming and pulls out in front?
They use the blue lights on the back of the car
We have the benefit of intense and significant driver training to do that. We are looking at what others are doing, what they may potentially do, and driving accordingly. The person in front does none of this. The key to safe driving at speed is observing what others MIGHT do, and driving in anticipation of that worst case scenario. Any idiot can drive fast, but to do so safely takes a lot of skill, training, refresher training and experience.
No.
Firstly the use of blue lights and a siren sometimes causes reactions from other drivers you DON'T want. I've had people pull into oncoming traffic to get out of the way of the car i'm in on a blue light run, and someone who slammed on the brakes when she saw us behind on a blue light run. Hardly desired reactions, but something you have to be prepared for.
Secondly they are taught very well, this guy is likely an advanced driver so essentially the "best of the best" in terms of training, there is no "higher" driver training course than an advanced driving course. They are taught to plan and prepare so far ahead that they rarely have to brake, typically they'll just let off the accelerator, slow for the hazard, and floor it again. Most of the braking is done for sharp right angle corners, try doing a 90 degree left/right turn at 80-90mph and you'll end up in a tree/hedge/lampost etc.
They speed anyway. I was doing 20 in a 20 recently and the safety camera van (of all things) in front of me was pulling away from me and eventually disappeared whilst the rest of us did 20 in a 20. Van must have been doing 35-40 in a 20. One rule for thee...
@@JC-qs4vi How does that warn the people up ahead?
"One of the fastest ever recorded, at 159mph"
Smokey Nagata in UK: *tests his top speed at 197mph in the late 90s*
that's not kilometers, in the UK they use miles, so that's 159 miles per hour which is 256 kmh.
@@JEmricR Ah right, I stand corrected. Information was there and I completely missed it. Thanks for pointing it out
@@Daysaturate and I'm still astonished that anyone would dare to drive that fast on a UK motorway with all their speed cameras and what not...then again, it was a BMW driver...

What a tiny fine and ban for such a speed endangering so many
Only 3 months! That would’ve been at least 12 months or longer here in Australia
And so it should be
Agreed...I thought here in the UK over 100mph is an automatic 1-year ban on the spot....they even take your keys off you..
@@chriswilde7246 only for drink or drug driving they carry and automatic 12 month ban. A couple years back a guy in an Audi S4 got caught at 140mph and got a month ban and £500 fine.

Here in Alberta Canada
We cruise at 130 KM/H through northern Alberta
My old Cortina used to hit 100 on the speedo and the needle just kept going, I could sometimes get it into the fuel gauge, i could tell everyone the car does 3/4 tank flat out .A real white knuckle ride that was..
500 quids for doing 150 mph!!!! Wow, that's cheap. Back in Canada, if you go that fast, it's $10,000, one month license suspension (on the spot) and you car gets impounded for 1 week (on the spot). That and 10 demerit points on your license, which is 2 points short of an indefinite license suspension.

"Let him go, Lou. Someone going that fast has no time for a ticket."
