It’s crazy to see all these guys saying how they want to grow out their hair/they are trying to. It made me remember the early days of beginning my hair growth journey and how much of a love/hate relationship I’ve had with it, but after about a year and a few months I can honestly say I’m so glad I followed through with it. I'm watching this and it's honestly surprising to me how to him having long hair as a guy has the same benefits that to me having short hair as a girl does - low maintenance, no bad hair days, gives you extra time when getting ready and don't have to worry about what your hair looks like 😂 that's practically why I cut my hair short so it's kinda funny

Girls with short hair usually don’t style it with wax or clay or whatsoever and that’s one of the more time-consuming things for guys
Guys don’t straighten or do other crazy shit with long hair like girls do, cause we love the chaos

My hair's been long for 5 years, and the biggest advice I can offer you is to just don't give a crap. Not about how it can be annoying when you can't tie it, just slick it back or use some kind of headband. Not about what people might think, and there may be criticism, especially if you're still in mid/highscool (I mean I've grown it in my 1st highschool year). But just don't care, or even make some humour about it.
TL;DR : Keep up and don't give a crap about anything.

I agree with most except with the "less maintenance". I constant have to search for split ends and wash it very throuroughly while also making sure it dries well to avoid damage. Let's not even get into the huge amounts of debate around what is best: cold hair dryer vs letting it dry, conditioner vs coconut oil, wash frequently vs. 2-3 days, letting it grow vs using a method for enhanced growth (rice water as an example), what brush is best for your hair, etc. I also have to brush it 3+ times a day or it will get tangled and I like it when it looks sleek. It's all worth it though. I don't regret it despite it's inconveniences and it feels amazing to have random people praise your long, black, shiny hair.

You get more confident because you dont have to worry about looking in the mirror or making your hair .you lose vanity , save money ,
You get more attractive to woman,
    You stand out from
Other guys because they all look the same.
Women look better with longer hair , so does men. They dont look significantly different from us men from facial proportions.

I used to had long hair. It wasn't that long but for a men it was considered pretty long. Was about shoulder height and the feedback was mostly positive in my case
I was getting more attention by girls, that would be the main advantage so I think it suited me. I was also getting mistaken by a girl at times and some people would call me gay every now and then but that never bothered me.
I decided to have shorter hair once I finished college but my hair grows fast so while I like how it looks with short and medium height styles they don't last too much since my hair grows fast so I lose the shape of the cut. So think I'm going to start growing it again, 18 months doesn't seem that long I like it just below the shoulder so it could take less than that.

I let it grow for 18 months (it's shoulder length now) and want to share my experience a little bit.
I'm very glad i did it, and i liked it, but not more than my short hair.
The negatives: It's annoying, it's in your face a lot, when you sleep and sometimes even in my mouth while i'm eating, it's harder to take care of, need special shampoos and conditioners, takes more time to dry, i miss the styling procedure of short hair (using pre-styling and clays) now i just spray it with sea salt spray and i'm done. Got only 2 options, bun or loose.
The positives: It makes you look unique, everyone started to call me Hercules or Thor it makes you stand out, it looks good (but that's personal opinion, i did a poll on IG between my short and long hair and it was about 50/50)
I'm going to the barber tomorrow and going back to a short style. Why? Just plainly because i'm sick of it and i don't think the positives outweigh the negatives, it does not look better than short hair styles, it just looks different (if you care about women's attention, by study they love short hair more in general).
I'm glad i tried it, i encourage you guys to try it at least once in your life. But this was probably the one and only time i have ever done it.
God bless you guys and bless your journey.

Idgaf About women I even have plans not even to marry xD I want to grow my hair to stand out different And In Our "asian" Schools There's a annoying rule that Says "girls must have long and boys must have short hair or they will be given fine and punishments" No worries I already Submitted the application and sometimes teachers looks at me and says "you are only here for fashion" Btw in our religion Islam It is a sunnah to have Long hair Cuz Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W friend Sahaba Ikram Had long hair And Also It is a pro for me That It covers your eyes while ya sleeping So it's DARK.

hey y'all, I'm not a guy but i have grown my hair out from having a buzzcut (now my hair is down my back). my advice for you guys is to use hats or bandanas during the awkward stage of growing out your hair, trust me they will help a lot. also i just wanted to say, i think that you guys shouldn't limit yourselves, you can have more hairstyles than just wearing it up or leaving it down, you could do braids and experiment.. just saying!
    - anyway, best of luck to everyone

I'm a 13 months into growing mine out and I learned soooooo many things during this journey. I learned that my hair is a curly 2b-2c and and it cannot be styled in the same way as straight hair. I was never able to pull off a good style with shorter hair because I didn't know how but growing it out forced me to do a lot more research and I'm now very knowledgeable in this field. I just need a month and I'll be able to tie the top of my hair comfortably (use Bobby pins for the sides). Your content is very entertaining but since you do have 1-2a type hair it doesn't apply to me sometimes. Keep it up!

Started letting it grow in February 2020 mainly because I wanted to but also to help stop the travel of covid. I wanted to avoid going to a salon as much as possible because it wasn’t necessary. It’s January And I can comfortably tie my top part up but the sides and back still need a long while to go. My desire to have fully long hair is definitely stronger than my current annoyance at the different lengths and in between awkward stages.

Hold on a minute.. you can for sure have variety with long hair styles.. middle part, side part, in between part, you can use a soft pomade and still slick it back, you can have it tussled and loose, neat, etc. The options are just as many there, you just gotta find the right products for it.
I have similar length and use a clay pomade and made a more messy slick back, just as an example.
Btw.. I love your long hair, looks gorgeous!

I have plenty of bad hair days, and it's just so much work. Whenever I had short hair I'd barely pay attention to it and it always look decent and people told me so.

Tried growing my hair out through the long lockdown in 2020. The last time I got it cut was December 2019, and as we went in to lockdown, I was debating either shaving it off or growing it out. I chose to grow it out, and for the first 6-7 months I loved it, but once it got to September-October, it was annoying me. Of course through the lockdown I wasn’t able to go to my barbers to get maintenance trims, so it grew out fairly scruffy. I got it cut at the end of October for a wedding and I was back to the recognisable me again. This year, I’m gonna do it properly. A trim to neaten things up every 6-7 weeks, and proper care. It was my first time growing my hair so it was something to remember and I did enjoy it, but it was the final stages that had me annoyed. Can’t wait to be able to find new styles in a few months.

Update: i cut my hair after 15 months of growing it on may 2021. It felt really fresh and energetic after having short hair as i could not maintain my hair that well. Now it's march 2022 and again im determined to have long hair. Let's see how it goes. 😁
