Hello my friends, I hope you're doing well! I took time off during January to focus on some other projects and mostly to prepare for our big cross country move. I'm so excited to announce that we are moving to New England! (I'll share the specific state in my next video)
In this video I wanted to share my life reset that I've been implementing for 2023. A starting over vlog. Prioritizing my mental health and focusing on happiness first. For me that has looked like reading lots of fairytales, eating healthier, not scrolling on my phone and listening more to those who love me instead of strangers on the internet. It has also consisted of a lot of journaling :)

Hey Desi! You probably will never see this comment, and it will be left to float in the abyss of the internet forever. But I wanted to share with you how much this channel did for me. I'm thirteen - a teenager trying to figure life out in a crazy mess of a world. When I first found you channel, I found myself relating to it so much. You shared things in your Romanticizing Life video that I didn't even realize I was already doing. Autumn has always been my favorite season, but here in California the cold seasons are not much for romanticizing. Everything is just dry and warm all year round. I dream of going to college on the East Coast, or maybe even in England. Your channel is just peak vibes and energy for me. I used to think the internet was hurting me, but finding channels and accounts like yours taught me something different: there were people out there who were like me. I know you shared not having friends as a kid, so you probably know what I'm talking about when I say that I always just feel odd and mis-matched next to all the preppy, tik-tok obsessed girls I know. You and your channel have gotten me through loneliness, trying to find acceptance, figuring out who I want to be (obviously still a work in progress, and will probably be for the rest of my life). I had a rough Xmas dealing with seasonal depression which is strange as a Canadian that my boyfriend and I felt yet her Christmas videos lifted us and we took a different more natural turn and back to ourselves! I'm 19 and still living at home with my mum but I can feel I've grown out of my family home and I need something new. At the moment I am not able to make that happen so when you say that, it really touched me deeply. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your videos bring a spark of joy to my life.
One day I hope to live in a little cottage with a garden with tons of flowers. Maybe a cat and a dog. And bake bread and knit and create so many wonderful things and live a simple life away from the business of the world. I know there will be hard days but you can't have the light without the shadow.

I ran across you one day and felt like I had found a friend. Anne of Green Gables is my favorite book and the 1985 version of the movie is my absolute favorite movie. I started watching some of your videos, especially the room makeover ones as that's something I love. I was an English literature major, so I love books, just like you. I just found out today you had been living in Utah. I knew we were kindred spirits. I lived in Utah for over 15 years. I recently restarted my life in Washington State, back where I was raised as a little girl. I am just coming out of an abusive marriage and I needed to start over somewhere that wasn't tainted by bad memories. I just moved here in April of this year and am putting my life back together piece by piece. You remind me that I want to take time for the romantic me, the soft me, the inner me that has been hidden away by several years of pain. I cried as you talked about saying goodbye to the little place that had brought you so much joy. I understand that feeling too. Thank you for being you Desi. You inspire me.

I have been journaling for 36 years-I have tubs filled with my handwritten words-spelling errors- goofy drawings and birthday letters to each one of my kids for every year. I will never do this electronically as it would take away from the intent-my soul connecting to the pages!!!!
I can't wait to see your new home and what you will make of it. Your design and the romantic way you look at life have really helped me in my daily life. I used to think I was silly to look at life like it was a fairy tale and now you have encouraged me these last few years to continue to always do what I want and be who I want to be no matter my age. We are in two completely different stages of life, but I'm surprised at how much of this video I relate to. I am a stay at home mom of two, one a newborn, and my husband and I just bought a home. It's so easy to get lost in newborn parenthood, I find myself desperately reaching for all the ways to continue to feel like "me" when my current life stage is so wrapped up in my children 24/7. And moving from an apartment that was fine for us as a couple but too small for a family of four has been a surprisingly emotional experience as well. I suspect I will be coming back to this video a lot in the next few weeks or even months.
I just wanted to encourage you... I have 3 kiddos. The oldest is 16 and my youngest is almost 2... I have found, embracing the current "me" sometimes is all I can do, and cherishing the moments that reflect the old me when I get them.... But also... There is a version of the old me and the current me that are always continuing to form the new me.... All the "yous" are beautiful.

Thank you so much! And the new furry friend is our new kitty! His name is Benedict and he’s a Ragdoll cat. We love him so much and it’s been great for Binx to have a cat to spar with. We specifically got him because he was older than her, so she couldn’t really bully him 😄 He has helped her with learning to play and not biting so hard.

Reading some of the comments , I'm surprised at how many other people like exactly the same things as in this video, I recently bought the complete works of Grimms fairy tales, such a beautiful book I've wanted for a long time, could I make some suggestions for future videos, dancing with fairy wings in the woods, evening or anytime, finding a wishing well and making a wish, going mushroom picking, growing lavender, drying it and then sewing it in small muslin bags, to scent your draws ,home, or giving it away, tied up in ribbons, sitting outside, or near a window, stitching, by hand a handkerchief or small item, your husband presenting you with a bunch of roses, enjoying yourself on s swing all while wearing the prettiest feminine🍒 tops and🍒🍒 dresses
Your hair turned out absolutely incredible! I'm assuming you didn't record the whole process, since it's hard for me to imagine the hair turning out so perfect for just putting on bleach like this over the whole head just once, without sectioning, doing the mids and ends first to avoid hot roots, plus toning etc.
If your hair did turn out the way it did from only bleaching the whole head together once, then I'm absolutely amazed, because such luck is extremely rare.

Haha thank you! I did the mids and ends first, let it process for like 15min and then put the remaining bleach on my roots. I wanted to film more but I kept having to take my gloves off to film and that was difficult 😄 After washing it out I noticed the roots were blonde enough but my mids and ends weren’t, so I just used another box of hair dye on them, washed it out with a purple shampoo and then used a really pigmented purple hair mask and this was the final result! ♥️

I spent the first 35 years of my life in New England and although I left 30 years ago and have learned to love Utah, I will always consider New England my home. Wait until you discover the beautiful old architecture with all its history, wonderful antique stores to explore, visits to the shoreline in spring, summer, fall and even winter and fall foliage which is unmatched.
