As usual, I'm quite taken with Fourth's acting. Whether the narrative requires effective comedic delivery or touching poignant moments, Fourth's acting is nuanced and astounding. Did anyone else notice how Atom's hand brushed Kongthap's butt cheek as he helped him walk towards the gathering of fireflies? #ijs 😛
Natsume Sōseki (夏目漱石) - one of the greatest Japanese writers of the Meiji/Taishō period, once suggested "今夜は月が奇麗ですね" (The moon is beautiful tonight) as the most accurate Japanese translation of the English "I love you".

Honestly, I agree with everything you said. If i were to compare (in a healthy way), as much as i love gemfourth, i do prefer the japanese version when it comes to the camp scenes and just the delivery of it over all. It was so funny and so wholesome, especially when they used their ingredients altogether as a team to make a proper meal for everyone, this way, all of them get to have a nice fair meal. However, gemfourth's chemistry just carried it all the way.
There are parts where I feel like they can do better (im talking about small details like during the product placement of the snack, just like javi said, it would be better if they did have a proper meal, since they just finished a whole obstacle course) I love that they have a lot of sponsors and stuff, but maybe try to put the product placements within the story that doesnt take away any minor detail from the plot. But who am i to say this right? I'm a sucker for any Nivea Micellar scene.
I will say tho that the confession scene is beautiful. I love it more than the japanese adaptation. Atom basically confessed twice in one night, if that isn't bravery, then idk what is. I love that they focused more on atom's development as well. As a character, he's very relatable and Fourth delivers that so well.
But anyway, so far, I'm loving this show so much. Can't wait for the next episode! Love ya Javi!~~~~~
I agree! I also think that both Japanese and Thai dramas have different strong and weak points. For example, the Japanese ones tend to excel at cinematography and capturing feelings in a more subtle, poetic way (but sometimes it can be too subtle and that's when the dramas lose me a little sometimes), and Thai dramas are (in my opinion) better at more heartfelt, outright displays of love, attraction, communicating/showing your feelings etc (I felt this strongly in Cherry Magic) - and this also comes down to cultural differences.
So I think with these adaptations, there will always be scenes that are better in the Japanese version and those that are better in the Thai one...
You didn't pay close attention - just like Javi didn't - when it comes to the cake product. Kongthap and Half told the F duo that sergeant had someone guarding the food, so it was the only thing they could have smuggled out for "losers" Atom and Mudmee. In that sense, they did explain why are two people eating only snacks and not the real meal. But I do agree that Japanese version with everyone having curry at the end is top notch comparing to this solution.
@@majacolovicselak124 Ahh yes, i did notice that and it did make sense. But thats the thing, in the Japanese version, everybody agreed to make the curry which made them work as a class and as a team (which was one of the main purpose of the whole camp). Meanwhile, in the thai one, someone guards the food, the A students eat their proper meals, and only kongthap and half thought about the F ones and they bring them snacks. I guess the jap ver was just really wholesome in these parts but I do prefer the thai ver when it comes to the confession scene 🤟
Yes! The Japanese version feels very special and I love its approach when tackling the storyline but GemFourth definitely elevate any material they’re given, so I’m eating it up anyway! 🤭💛 Love ya, Jay!

Also, I feel like your comment section is a safe space so let me share some of my thoughts. I love GemFourth and I would watch MLMU through until the end because I am enjoying it as it is. But my biggest worry with them having so much sponsors is how it could affect the flow of the story making process just to get everything in. Of course the GemFourth magic doesn't fade away and they deliver every time they are on screen, but honestly this was my biggest problem with how they handled OurSkyy MSP. During that time, it was pretty evident that they were trying to sell all the additional merch that GMM released. It's frustrating from a fan's perspective because GemFourth as actors can deliver so much given the right script and material.
For now, I am truly enjoying the way they are showcasing Atom and Kongthap because their chemistry is insane ♥
Although I do agree to comments about ill-designed product placements, I cannot agree that Japanese version is better in any way, shape or form. We acctually got to see very interesting games and pretty funny outcomes, we got spectacular confession, snake bite and fireflies. So, so good. and very edgy, while Japanese series, even though I enjoyed it, is benign comparing to Thai, at least ep about camping.

I always say this but as someone who is going into the story completely blind, I generally don't like when people compare the two shows. However, I enjoy the way you are going about it, Javi! I can feel that you really are enjoying this series as its own separate thing (despite looking forward to some specific scenes and being slightly disappointed but ngl I don't blame you for this one 😂) and giving it its graces where its due! Some healthy constructive criticism is always good imo, I just feel there are people who are watching this show just to compare and nitpick, so I'm so glad that one of my fav reactors is not that way! 😉
Don't get me wrong, I understand why some of the changes made are upsetting to some people, but the way I see it is that I wouldn't want to see the same exact show with the same exact scenes over again... maybe I'm just weird tho 😅.
I completely agree with the product placement complaints! I get that they have tons to get through so I can't really fault anyone but that Euro Cake one really did feel weird! At least we got Fourth being a cutie chomping it down 😂.
I am really, really enjoying this show and GemFourth are doing amazing! Their chemistry and acting skills are just out of this world (to me at least)!!! I do have to say though, with MSP being my fav BL ever, some charm that I feel in MSP and MC is missing and I can't figure out what it is. I'm still loving the show, like I said before, but something just feels different! Either way, I'm gonna support this show and the actors and I really, really hope that GemFourth stay working together for a long time! ❤

There are a lot of changes from the Japanese adaptation because the Thai adaptation closely follows the manga instead, the actual source material. They haven't strayed away that far from the manga and I think so far the major change they did was the stage play.
