One thing a lot of people miss is Jungkook and RM. Jungkook is Icarus, RM is his father Daedalus. Greek legend says that Daedalus gave Icarus wings made of feathers and wax and warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun. Icarus had too much hubris and gave into temptation and flew too far up in the sky, causing the wax to melt. He fell into the sea and drowned. Hence RM dripping candle wax onto Jungkook's finger, and Jungkook giving into temptation and tasting the wax. Then we see Jungkook suspended in air with feathers floating around him, like he's falling. Later you see him upside down on the bed while RM is slumped in a chair, symbolizing Icarus's downfall/death and his father's despair. Also, when V jumps off the balcony (fallen angel, get it) the scene in the background is a famous landscape painting of Icarus's death in the sea (you can see his legs in the water).

Jhope mentioned in an interview that they practice for 12 hours a day. They work very hard and are very dedicated to what they show to ARMY
They practice up to 13 hours a day (or more if they are practicing for a comeback) and they hardly take any days off but of course that time also includes singing and practicing everything else but they mostly practice performance. After all BTS is well known for their powerful performance! They working hard af every day

BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS MV EXPLANATION: (My perspective)
There's a lot of symbolism in this music videos that are related to their long story line that runs through their series of music videos and short films.
This MV is inspired by the book "DEMIAN" by Herman Hesse. The book is about Emil Sinclair, a young boy raised in a middle class home, amidst what is described as a Scheinwelt, a play on words meaning "world of light" as well as "world of illusion". Emil's entire existence can be summarized as a struggle between two worlds: the show world of illusion and the real world, the world of spiritual truth. In the course of the novel, accompanied and prompted by his mysterious classmate 'Max Demian', he detaches from and revolts against the superficial ideals of the world of appearances and eventually awakens into a realization of self. (In the music video, RM's narrating a quote from that book.)
Jin is playing the character of Sinclair and V as (Demian) a fallen angel that's why his wings were cut off. And all 7 members are portraying the 7 deadly sins. The scene where Jin kisses the fallen angel is a metaphor of loosing your innocence by falling into evil deeds. (V and Jin cannot kiss so they used a statue instead.) After that kiss scene, you'll notice how everything crashes and the members are acting or dancing in a more sensual way and Jin's cracking face, which meant that their innocence were gone. (They explained that the WINGS ALBUM was about encountering temptations and BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS is a sexy song of sorrow.)
Welcome to BTS' fictional world, that we call BTS' UNIVERSE: THE FICTIONAL WORLD OF BANGTAN. You see, BTS have this story line that runs through their series of music videos, short films and highlight reels. This story line started from their MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENT IN LIFE ALBUM (HYYH) to their WINGS ALBUM until their LOVE YOURSELF (HER, TEAR, WONDER & ANSWER) ALBUM SERIES. Everything is connected to the story, that's the reason why there are a lot of symbolism in each of their MVs. (for eample: In the FAKE LOVE MV, what connects J-hope to the Sickers and the amusement park, Jimin and the water, Suga and the fire, RM and the mirror, V and the cellphone, Jin and the flower, and on the teaser the objects that they and what they trade it for, etc.). There's a DEEPER meaning of everything, I mean literally DEEPER than what you think. There is so much more to discover about BTS, not just thei music, artistry, talent, lyrics, etc. The whole cinematic universe(fiction) they got going on is another layer that adds so much into their crafts.

The whole concept of this mv is heavily inspired by Demian, a book written by Herman Hesse. It's a book about growing up, and the responsibility of becoming an adult which become the focus of this story but it has an even deeper meaning than that as they also quote Nietzsche, greek mythology and their own previous music video before coming up with all of this.
The dance moves are really great and satisfying to watch, this music video is the 2nd blow that increase the success of BTS's career, made them win their first ever Artist of The Year and Album of The Year 2 months after its release.
BTS has got so many up & downs the more they release songs. The first blow of success they got was from a song called "I Need U" (2015) that got them their first win on music shows and a lot of dedicated fanbase after that as the song and the concept talks about youth, the hardship of a teenage that speaks but adults won't listen that relates to many of us. The second blow up comeback is this mv, "Blood Sweat & Tears" (2016) that got them invited to Billboard Music Awards the very first time.

Black wings means fallen angel. The blondie w the ripped wings is the "temptor" and the guy who kissed the statue represents having fallen into temptation. In the museum w the giant portrait cut you see a black arc and white arc on either side. That alone is symbolic. This MV is inspired by the book, Demian by Herman Hesse.
I thought i was the only one who realized the black and white arc which also made me think about J-Hope boy meets evil.

yeah but I feel they can understand the storyline well enough without having to read all of the diaries, plus the love yourself solo songs are once again something that aren't vital to the storyline that started in 2014, but more the sub-story that came in the love yourself series. i'm just trying to make it easier for them instead of having t watch every single thing bts has ever came out with, because, let's be honest, that's the only way you'll understand everything. some people aren't as dedicated as we are lol : )

Idk of anyone has commented on this but Jin kissing a devil (which in this case is the statue/V with his black wings) means that he made a deal with the devil. Thus, he loses his innocence (shown where his face starts cracking). This BS&T is basically telling a story of the boys growing up & losing their innocence to temptations (RM drinking the alcohol, Jungkook tasting the wax, Jimin putting on the blindfold) then Once they do, theyâre tainted (eg; Jimin with the green tears, RM blowing smoke etc). Thereâs also symbolism of boys growing to be men. Jungkook was on the swing with a lollipop but then afterwards heâs floating. Jimin with the catapult and then JHope with the bow & arrow.

BTS uses Hermann Hesse's Demian book as inspiration, basically their entire discography uses this story as a concept.The most important thing to keep in mind when interpreting BTS songs is that they cannot be seen as something real that is happening in time, because their concept is too surreal to see it that way. So the way to interpret it is through dreams and there is a reason for this. It turns out that Hermann Hesse was strongly inspired by Car Jung's analytical psychology. Jung's analytical psychology is a school of modern psychotherapy and something that characterizes psychotherapy is the analysis of dreams, which are not literal at all. In this way it is explained that BTS videos when viewed without a specific context and order do not make sense to be able to analyze them.
The most important thing to understand dreams according to psychotherapy are the symbols, likewise in the novel the symbols are quite important and it is the same with the videos. So to understand why these symbols in BTS videos we have to superficially know Jung's four archetypes. Starting with the PERSON archetype, which is the personality that an individual projects to others, it is the way in which we present ourselves to the world around us. It could be said that it is the way to adapt to the demands of society. Just one of the latest BTS albums is Map of the soul: PERSONA. Accepting all parts of yourself, both good and bad, is explored quite a bit in the book. there's usually an order of videos to watch.

The members can do backflips. Jimin has over 8 years of training in martial arts including kendo (which is a modern Japanese martial art descending from swordsmanship-kenjutsu) and also Taekwondo. He's an international MMA scholar. Jungkook is a black-belter in Taekwondo. SUGA is a Judo trainee. Most of the members are fit because they are exposed to Taekwondo/Kendo and Mixed Martial Arts. they practice 13 hours on a normal day and atleast 15 when they have a comeback plus vocal lessons and rapping lessons honestly don't know how they do it. its amazing

BTS practices an average of 15 hours a day and have been known to go at it for 24-48 hours non-stop, literally collapsing on the ground of their dance studio. They take an average of 48 hours to film a video. They often do TWO videos, one theatrical, one dance. BTW, RM, Suga, J-Hope, and Jungkook ALL rap. J-Hope and Suga rap AND sing. V, Jin, Jimin and Jungkook are all vocalist, able to sing AND dance at the same time. J-Hope learns choreography within minutes, then adds his own twists and tweaks, then teaches the others, giving them their own time in front of all their MVâs and live performances, making sure each member gets equal âfrontâ time.

He even goes so far as to refer to it as his first love. âĄâĄâĄ If you get a chance, watch a lyric video for his song First Love.
