I think it is important to note that often times when a home goes on the market - for sale or resale - it is neutralized to widen its appeal. That takes a lot of paint. The key question is not the most bought paint but the most popular paint among homeowners and designers (not builders and stagers).
I am SO glad to see you giving my all-time favourite colour this shout out! I chose it almost ten years ago for our new home, for the upper and lower halls and the great room, so it was subjected to both east and western exposure - and looked wonderful in both, cozy in rainy days, glowing on sunny days, and never dark. Interestingly I did have Jute in that first house along with it as well as a similar one to the Blue Gaspe in a bathroom. I had Cotton Balls for my trim and was pretty pleased with it. I used it in our next house in our bedroom and loved it there too. Now we’re in yet another house and I’m considering it again because, frankly, I miss it.
Absolutely love how you show the complimently colors!!!!
Im wanting a taupe to go with Balboa Mist
Omg!!! So excited!! It’s one of my favorites too and have it in my kitchen and bedroom!!!
It’s such a classic and I love these pairings!
I’m building right now and I’ve chosen Balboa Mist after lots of consideration. Thanks for all the great suggestions 😊
Great job! Love the color schemes! ❤😊
Thanks, I am going to store soon to buy it
Love the colors! I really want to paint the majority of my condo in the Balboa Mist. I have a question for you: Do you think it's light enough for a dark hallway? Thank you, James, for your awesome videos.
This choice surprises me. I thought we were moving away from the pink and purple undertoned grays. You even did a video recently about recommending Strand of Pearls over Pale Oak. The best color here in my opinion is Jute. That's a good one.
I love it!
Thank You 😊😊😊
What software do you use to display and visualize these colors in a room? Do you recommend it for DIYers or is there a more user friendly option?
Yes classic gray 😘
I’m considering balboa mist in my tiny powder room… door is it in the middle once you open and walk in left side sink right side toilet. Initially I wanted to do an accent wall with hale navy, but not sure if it’s too small space, so now I’m considering using balboa mist in the whole thing, any thoughts or suggestions? Would be much appreciated, thanks.
Do you think Balboa Mist would work in a very tiny windowless bathroom? This is great timing, I’m overwhelmed trying to pick the right colors. I’m thinking about doing a 2 toned look with a light color on top and a darker on the bottom. Now to figure out the dark color😅
Do Oxford White and Decorators White affect Balboa Mist differently? It definitely gets more beige or gray depending on the light source throughout the day, and I wonder if trim color adds to that.
I’m wondering if it would go with Florentine plaster?
Love your channel. I’ve got a video request or question. About correcting what colors are being pulled out of a color. I am going for a neutral beach theme. When my vanity top was installed which looked just gray now looks bluish. I am hoping there is a vanity color I could use to pull out a different shade of grey. 😢
Lighting can have a big effect. Maybe experiment with different bulbs?
Great for coastal decor 🙌🏻
I find you very informative about technical information, however I am constantly in hope that there will be actually colors. Everything seems to be off whites, still tons of greys and tans. I live in hope of COLOR. Still subscibed because of the technical info which is great, however would like some real oomph colors. Thanks.
It is GRAY
Seems a timid choice for exterior. Darker greys and browns, blues, even purple-greys seem more current here. This color might look great for an interior background, certainly not exciting. I think this color could go warm or cool, and be a good backdrop for whatever else you'd like to throw at it.
The most popular house color is, the color your current client picks for the job you are working on.
I clearly watch too many of The Paint People videos. Balboa Mist was my first guess before clicking.
Why are we still talking about "builders" gray? I sure wish there would be more videos on actual paint colors.
Not loving it
gosh that’s ugly, i’ve never heard of anyone using it.
