- Ford CEO Jim Farley has officially revealed the much-anticipated reintroduction of four historic luxury automobile models for 2024, in a move that could change the game. The automobile industry has been rocked by this revelation, which has prepared Ford to take on its formidable rivals, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, and even Tesla.
The famed Ford Capri, a sports coupe that dominated the roads in the 1970s and 1980s, is making a comeback. Ford took a risk with its rebirth in an attempt to rekindle interest in this legendary vehicle and draw in a fresh batch of performance fans. The new Capri, with its svelte styling and cutting-edge technology, is ready to take on competitors in the sports car market.
The triumphal return of the Ford Taurus, a full-sized luxury sedan that has been out of production for some time, is next on the list. With this relaunch, Ford will be in a competitive position to take on the likes of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi in the luxury sedan market. The new Taurus is expected to be a strong competitor in the luxury sedan market thanks to its combination of cutting-edge technology, classic styling, roomy interiors, and a potent engine lineup.
The Lincoln Continental, a moniker associated with American luxury, is another fascinating resurgence. Lincoln, a Ford affiliate, is reviving this legendary classic and making a splash in the luxury automobile market. The new Continental is expected to upend brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley with its plush interiors, state-of-the-art technologies, and electric and hybrid versions. This will increase competition in the luxury market.
Not to be overlooked is the storied Ford Thunderbird, renowned for both its potent performance and timeless design. Ford is directly competing with renowned sports car makers like Porsche and Jaguar with its intention to revive the Thunderbird, demonstrating its dedication to modernising iconic vehicles. The new Thunderbird is set to win over fans' hearts all around the world.
Ford is up against tough competition as it enters the competitive luxury automobile market from well-established brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, which have raised the standard for luxury and performance. Ford has a special challenge as a result of Tesla's disruptive presence in the electric vehicle market. Ford, on the other hand, is prepared to take on its competitors and reinvent its reputation in the eyes of the public thanks to its rich history and dedication to innovation.
Success in this dynamic automotive industry depends on innovation. Modern luxury automobile purchasers demand the newest models with the best performance, safety features, and technology. In order to suit the needs of contemporary consumers, Ford is making significant investments in R&D to make sure that its revitalised models feature cutting-edge innovation, including sophisticated driver aid systems, autonomous driving capabilities, and seamless connectivity.
Another key component of Ford's premium automobile market strategy is sustainability. Ford intends to provide electric and hybrid versions of its luxury cars in response to the growing demand for environmentally friendly solutions. This move is in line with the industry's drive towards lowering emissions and environmental effect.
An historic day for the auto industry was marked by Ford's declaration that the Ford Capri, Ford Taurus, Lincoln Continental, and Ford Thunderbird will return in 2024. It represents Ford's will to challenge its competitors and reshape the future of luxury cars by competing at the highest level of performance and luxury. Keep checking back for more information on these fascinating comebacks and the intense competition that the luxury car market is sure to bring. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Bringing the Taurus back is brilliant. The last few years before it was canceled... it was a beautiful, reliable car. Plus, it's not another suv.
The only mistake is, it's a rebadged Fusion
As an Australian Ford Driver, I would love for Ford to bring back the Taurus....( Ford Australia's last Falcon was almost identical externally)
Furthermore, drivers of cabs (taxi) L.E.O. driver's and people who love to drive sedans would welcome the Taurus Sedan. Australia's Ford Falcon had an inline 6 cylinder "Barra" engine, both normally aspirated and turbocharged ( it was called a V8 killer due to pickup and speed, also had the "Coyote" engine which was supercharged. The driver's could do 3-400 kilometer drive and get out still refreshed.
Both these engines couldn't be killed, they kept on keeping on.
Come on Mr Ford, do the right thing and have the Australian R&D Team design the interiors and exteriors. Google the Australian Ford Falcon FGX XR6, XR6 and Sprint TURBO Barra engines along with the
FGX XR8 and XR8 Sprint. If the Taurus was built in left hand drive it could be converted to right hand drive in Australia.🚔🚔🚖🚖💯💯
Not everyone wants a truck or SUV. I'm one of them.
I love the strategy but the execution will be key. That Capri looked like an SUV. That would be a massive mistake. It needs to be an affordable, classic styled coupe with influences from the original. The Lincoln needs suicide doors for sure. The Thunderbird a cool interior like the 1966 model.
What these Ford luxury cars need is a five year free of charge bumper to bumper maintenance (including brakes and suspension), and a 500,000 miles unlimited powertrain warranty. Make it Ford tough. Thanks.
Capri, Taurus were not luxury models originally. This is not a rebirth, just Ford reusing old names. What about good, dependable inexpensive cars for regular people? Over priced luxury vehicles with insanely priced pickups that no one can afford. Great idea. Not.
This may be completely fake. I'm not finding any news of this anywhere else.
I have a spy photo of the new Taurus!
@@loiusmonroe1146 I believe you but the Ford CEO hasn't revealed the Taurus nor any of the other three cars talked about in this video.
I said the exact same thing. If Ford announces major models making a comeback, you would think at least someone else, some other Automotive news authority, would report it yet I have not found a single report from any other news source, credible or not credible, that backs any of these claims up. I hope it's true, I had to go to another manufacturer because I wanted a car and Ford pretty much stopped making them. Yes, I like the Mustang but I need a four-door and they don't make them anymore so I went to Hyundai and got a fantastic car with a 10-year warranty call Mom and I'm very happy but I like Ford and I want to buy their products, they need to start producing more cars again.
Cutting edge technology will require at least 3 seasons to iron out the bugs
I would think that this major announcement of Ford reintroducing the Taurus Capri Thunderbird would be major news, yet when doing a search, I can find no other infinite Nation announcing this "spectacular news" . This channel seems to find announcements that only they get, I will believe all this when I see it happen.
Executives just don’t learn. The Ford Maverick truck sold like gang busters, instead of adding more affordable cars, they go the expense route again.
Wow, bring ‘em on
Ford should reconsider the concept Ford 49. That would be a hot seller
Hope they improve their quality control because its crappy now
Good 👍👍 for FORD , now bring back the Mercury line of Cars !!!! The Big "M" !!!!
Ford would sell MILLIONS of Capri's IF, IF it is a sports coupe priced at $15,000.00...
No dealer market up, no dealer addon's, no $5,000 delivery charge etc...
The older style update but NOT to a 4 door SUV or CUV!!
The last thing we need is another SUV or CUV that are all the same!!
I agree with you.
Capri looks like a Mustang mach E. (yawn)
Why Ford, Why?
@@ajs3994 Yep, wee don't need another SUV
They’ll ruin that capri faster than a ford fiesta transmission
It's amazing what AI will do these days.
Clean Tech: Disclaimer - Our channel is purely made for entertainment purposes, based on news, rumours, and interesting speculation.
There is no way they will all be on lots this fall. The capri is likely as a rebadged euro model.
Too little too late. FORD wanted to be a MONSTER truck company. This is why I have always purchased foreign cars.
The Continental is sold only in China. They used to be built in Flat Rock Michigan. I doubt seriously that any of these cars are for the American market.
It should say let’s see if ford can make a transmission for these cars
Show the cars, cut the B.S..
If, FORD wants to return to dominance in the auto industry. They should kill and stay away from electric vehicles (EV) and focus on creating beautiful cars with performance, reliability, safety and less unnecessary technology. Americans don’t need self driving or self parking vehicles! Beautify the interior to include a matching color steering wheel to coordinate with the color interior and stop with the black interior with color inserts. Use technology to increase efficiency, mileage, less pollution and reduce maintenance cost for the consumers. Build better beautiful cars, like those of the 1950-70’s with today’s technology. That’s practical and not confusing for consumers to use. Then, you’ll have a better chance of reaching your goals of being on top of the car industry once again!
How about cars that are affordable for the common man. We need cars built that cost less than $20K for young drivers.
Oh Bob, you're dreaming. Those days are gone for good. The only deals you'll find will be the used car market. All of today's cars depreciate so fast, I would never buy one new today. I bought my last new car in 2002. I still drive it. Gently. It is a Ford F350. Great truck back when they were still affordable.
The Continental is too ordinary on the outside. Ford was going to make a take off of the 1965 Lincoln that would have been amazing
I've seen it! You're right! It was gorgeous. But like everything else they dangle, it was merely a tease. Once they go through corporate red tape and bean counters, they look like every other generic jelly bean on the market.
Also reliability is a big problem with Ford and is very capable to build reliability in it vehicles
They just recycling,, old names,,, bring the glorious years of muscle cars, and affordability,,,the real American real wheel drive,,,,cmon,,,
Greetings from oakville Ontario Canada home of the ford plant thanks for the presentation
Dont buy anything new from American builders for at least 3 seasons.
I bet Stellantis feels really stupid right now!
Again with destroying a nameplate by turning a 2 door sports car, like the Capri into an SUV, Just stop.
Not an EV.....positive++.
Hahahahah. They show '50 and '51 Lincoln Capri's. The Taurus was never a "flagship luxury" car. Why can we not see new design sketches, instead of 70 year old images of classic models ? You flash images of an old Corvette. Is that the new Thunderbird? That Lincoln is just a 2021 model that Ford made a mistake of cancelling.
If any of these are battery powered, you are wasting a lot of R&D money because no one will be buying them and they will sit on dealer lots like current EVs do now.
First off Capri was not a Ford capri was a mercury mercury is dead I do not see Ford bring back Capri to compete with Mustang if they do bring back the Capri it is only going to be in the European markets it’s never going to make it to the US Shores next none of the cars mentioned have ever competed with BMW Mercedes Audi or Bentley your cars compute with Cadillac Buick Chevy Chrysler. Next continental was already back and it failed they discontinued it in 2020 or 2021 not sure but I do know the last ditch effort They made was to add the coach doors to it absolutely beautiful but it never competed with Bentley or Rolls Royce you people are dreaming. And you showed no new mock up of Thunderbird again if it does come back I don’t see it coming to the US. Unless you’re going to do some major styling in interior design I do not see any of these vehicles competing with the brands you have just said in this video.
The Capri was only marketed in North America as a Mercury. For the rest of the world, it was either a Capri or Ford Capri. Both the Capri and Thunderbird are losers IMO; but, the Taurus has potential. My last dealings with Ford service departments would still keep me away from the marque anyway.
The Capri was a Ford. Only in America was it marketed as a Mercury. The car was originally a UK model. Ford Capri.
how are EV cars a good choice for these climate "green" people when you can't recycle the expired batteries? Make a type of new landfill with them? how is that good for the environment?
If it doesn't resemble the original and with a modern twist then it isn't a follow on product, it is something else. So the Capri for example, the new version looks like some overweight blob of a car with nothing at all in common with the original. Much like the last variant of the Jaguar XJ and Land Rover Defender, these new versions are an alien abomination of the original and not a development of the product.
No more EV junk please
Liar
Customers who can't afford over-priced cars and trucks in the present are thrown under the bus for the return of even more expensive niche-market luxury performance models, ICE and EVs, in the future? Stockholders expecting dividends are going to love this.😂
