The Jaguar F-Pace was the first SUV ever built by the British brand, with its blend of luxury and stylish design proving a huge hit with buyers. A mid-life facelift introduced a mildly updated design and a refreshed interior, along with the brand’s latest Pivi Pro infotainment system. Buyers get a choice of petrol and diesel engines, as well as a plug-in hybrid and the flagship SVR performance model. But can the facelifted F-Pace match rivals like the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Mercedes GLC? Nicola delivers the Carbuyer verdict.

Loved my Fpace, definitely one if not the best handling SUV. The new interior is wow I love how it looks and the large screen looks much better in person than in videos. Stunning SUV inside and out now, with a little electfication it's bound to attract a lot of buyers.
Completely agree! It drives beautifully and that new infotainment system is just WOW compared with the last one!
I enjoyed watching the Video Review. The updates Including the Pivi Pro System make the Model even better
The F-Pace is a stunningly beautiful car
Had the updated F Pace in July coming from a Mercedes Benz was worried about the change from a German brand but been really impressed with the quality and drives much better than the Merc .
Would recommend the car the fuel economy with the new engine has been great
How is the reliability compared to the Mercedes?
I must have missed it but what was the petrol engine size and figures on this and is it wireless android/apple car play?
I really love Nicola doing these reviews. Fun and informative without falling into stupidity like someone else on another car channel I won't mention by name.
Thanks GJ F!
I have a F Pace from April 2021, an excellent car but I have already been with it twice in service, they changed the egr valve and the sensor from the particle filter on the warranty
I had the r dynamic black - diesel, in black. 2021. Awesome car, awesome drive. Purred like a jaguar.. like it should. I had it for a month before I got my range rover. I didn't really like Jag before but that car changed my mind. It has to be in all black though lol. Definitely a car you can pull up and turn heads in 😍😍❤️
How reliable are the Jaguar cars you had? I love the look and design but I'm worried about reliability.
great so passionate review!!
Great refresh from Jaguar. Great review 👍
Great review by Nic, injecting some much needed energy.
The new F Pace is brilliant. It’s a real magic carpet ride. I must have had nearly 50 cars in my 52 years of driving and it’s the first time I’ve ever wanted a car on the test drive before I left the dealership car park. I have the P400 R Dynamic SE mild hybrid, but I also had the P300 diesel MH for a few months while I waited for the 400, and I. Must say in the real world the diesel is probably better. It never went below 30 mpg and though only 300 as opposed to 400 bhp the extra torque makes up for the difference in day to day driving. I have yet to get 20 mpg from the petrol one. But I don’t care it’s just fabulous
if the battery runs out does the car uses the 300 horses? when moving does the battery charge? So the 400 horses are for 50 kilometers until the battery runs out?
I love Nicola's reviews.❤
Thanks!
That R-Dymanic black looks amazing!!!
Many Thanks, I'm at a certain age where I'm finding the interiors more & more overwhelming & confusing to use!! 🤦🤦
How many times has the 2016 F Pace spent time in the shop?
Correction: Nicolas reviewing skills are brilliant! Love the little dig, at her fellow presenter!☺️
I'm loving mine. The 400e is so fast. Taking into account it's weight, it is outstanding. The handling is amazing, and that pivi pro screen is amazing. Plus it's not just an iPad stuck on, it's really a beautiful bit of curved glass, and super responsive.
Plus for temp, fan and seat hot/controls you have the dials and positive buttons below. Best of all worlds.
The f pace will be totally replaced in 2025 (along with the rest of the Jag line up). They r going out with a bang!
Question for you Steven - do you use the CCS rapid charging? Or just slow charge from home?
@@carbuyer currently at home, normal domestic plug, BUT about to get a proper charger now that I realised the government will pay a third of the cost. During the fuel crisis I realised I needed to charge faster than 6-8 hours 😂
Plus I do use fast chargers when out and about if they are available. Full charge in like 20-30 mins, which when on the motorway means the petrol really does go a lot further.
Also I have noticed in a lot of media videos/articles people assume PHEV owners do not charge. I think research shows that is the case with the original company fleet PHEV peeps, but everyone I know with a PHEV charges them religiously.
How reliable are the Jaguar cars you had? I love the look and design but I'm worried about reliability.
@@MeowAttack1 My X-Type 2010 had a couple of issues as it got older, and my XF did have issues. Most pertained to the Sequential Turbos - air sensors, stuff like that. But overall the experience was good. My current F-Pace seems, so far, perfect. Im not an engineer, but Im quite 'connected' to my cars, and listen to the engine and can feel when things are off and this seems to be super smooth and well built. As cars go electric issues will reduce, as ICE either are not there, OR are used less (I do 80% of my driving only in electric), so less wear and tear.
Probably in the future more issues with software, which is why Tesla are doing updates/recalls all the time as I wonder how good their software QA really is.
Modern jags do over the air updates, and mine now has Alexa, so you can order Toilet Rolls whilst driving... what more do you need? 😂😜
Shame they left this interior update so late, it was the thing that stopped me from buying a few years ago
Stunning inside and out, very stylish and has that biritish charm :D
Excellent presenter! Lovely car!👍
Hi Nicola love your choice of words nippy is a very underused word and the trousers look great.
Coming over from bmw and can’t wait to take new delivery in March of my F-Pace. It’s so beautiful and the interior is sheer luxury.
Why so late? Do you have customized options?
The previous version does have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Love the new interior though
I am curious what do you keep in your leather pouch? Keys, loose change?
Haha on the day I played a game of ‘what’s in my pouch’, which the film team REALLY enjoyed. It was a mixture of bounty wrappers, plasters, key rings etc. They definitely didn’t get annoyed with my super fun game 🤣🤪
I do really like the updated interior
Good looking car but always worry about rekiability in JLR products
She reminds me of Tulip from the movie Storks
"See??? NIPPY." should be a meme 😂😂😂
How I wish these were reliable. I've been to a Jaguar dealership twice to see this refresh. Yet, I'm still uncertain about buying due to its lack of reliability
First time I’ve seen Nicola do a review but she’s fantastic. She’s a breath of fresh air with her reviews and presenting style.
Awww Thankyou! Oh wait, is this my mum under a fake account?😜
@@nicolahume Ha ha! No, I’m just an avid car fan enjoying your reviews. 👍
Almost no reviewer points out the visibility from inside the car which is very important
Excellent presenter!
Glad you think so!
so where's the spare tyre
Best looking SUV easy!
If I was tied down and forced to have a massive vehicle as my daily, I think I'd get this..... or a Ranger Raptor!
I wish you talked about the engine
They make great new cars, but if jaguar parts are less expensive, their 2nd hand market would grow a lot. More Jaguars on the road is more free advertisement. They stick behind the competition now
I like the interior for sure but outside looks the same to me as it did when it first came out and as a result looks dated
“Midlife facelift” find me another manufacturer that does more than just slightly updates the bumpers and lights. The idea of this is to update where it counts. The technology. That PIVI system is 100 times better than the previous version. I also don’t think that colour does the bodywork any favours.
Side on its hardly changed but face on its subtle but quite different. New power bulge on bonnet, bonnet now flush to lights/grille with no shut line (entire Jag range has a shut line), new lights, and the bit at the bottom of the rear bumper used to look cheap and un-designed, but both front and back its now classy and 'finished'.
So subtle, but side by side quite different.
a CRT touch screen, like the ones ATMs in the 80s used to use, will be installed in the dash of cars in the future...

P400e only gives 26 miles on EV but really enjoy the car
So the updates on the outside I can't really notice but the inside wow now how can you miss 1massive tube of glue and an ipad there you go job done 👏
I am sure your happy with your Fiesta, the new FPace is rather good
@@alanwayte432 hmmm don't think I'll ever own a ford bud not for me don't judge a book
It’s a bit crap on the design and functionality but drives heavenly. I’d suspect a design team too obsessed with pretty over functionality.
F-Pace is domestic beauty for you englishmen. I hope that Jaguar will next present an estate version to the XE. It really needs that and I wonder why It hasn’t. 🤔🤔🤔
There is no way Nicola is older than Richard - stop the count!!
Nice car, but I'd rather have the new Lexus NX PHEV....
There's not much in it, to be fair...
It’s a 2 week difference but yes, he’s younger than me😩
The widening of your eyes Nicola suggest the performance is rather better than nippy 😂? This car now seems to be how it should have originally been at launch. If it now sells by the bucket load, I wonder, will the new JLR boss change his mind about cutting all the Jaguar SUV's?
Let's not forget the original F-Pace was among the best in its class when it launched in 2016. The rate of progress has been strong, however, and rivals have surpassed it. These changes bring the Jaguar back up to date!
Have the hybrid for over half a year... 300 km a fault already... car goes in limp mode and all safety systems are disabled.
Dealer doesnt know what to do
very very disappointed for such a high price
Dont buy it if you want to spent time driving .. to the dealer and back
I'm in love with female Matt Watson 😍 oh and the car too
It’s not a VAG product, I’m. It interested😂
Very seldom see these in Canada. Plenty of Land Rovers though.
Electric SUV is a flash in the pan .
I had a 17 plate for two years lost £25k in two years.
yenefer is that you?
Thank God. I was about to yawn and switch over thinking it was going to be yet another electric only thing
Definitely a older person's car I don't see many young people driving these.looks ok😂
❤️❤️❤️
Will pick up the X3 M40i all day and everyday over the F-Pace. Okay F-Pace has the sexier design but still can’t beat that straight 6 B58 in the M40i !!
You've clearly not tried the supercharged V8 in the F-Pace SVR...!
@@carbuyer a good £ 20k difference between the two after adding similar options to both !!
dude the F pace SVR will embarrass X3 M40i.. You may have to give up your car on a straight drag race.. fact!!
@@Bauer787i yeah I know that, but there is a good 20k difference between the 2
@@sanchaynarain3532 yeah and I would still by svr over m3
❤ ❤ 😍
8:50 it’s amazing when a bunch of ole fart managers of the company age out and head off into retirement, they’ve let the new wave through whom had been frustrated by previous constraints and are finally getting to show what they can do, provided the wrong people don’t get promoted into the positions of authority there could be some exciting things coming from the brand 🤞
Unreliability comes as standard across the range.
As a previous jag driver, the awful reliability puts me off. I'd rather get a lexus.
Poorly angled stick on I pad looks awful....
Personally i find the interior rather plain looking comparing to other german rivals.
hybrid makes no sense - it's bulky and breaks are awfull
Love Jaguar, Love the F-Pace, will *NEVER* go electric! I'm the anti-greta!
Those trousers are not a matter of taste. They are terrible on an intergalactic scale.
Wheels look way to big
Carbuyer what happened to Rich???
He's still working hard behind the scenes - scripting, editing etc. But don't worry, you'll see his face again in 2022!
Carbuyer is dead because there is no MATT WATSON or REBECCA JACKSON. I came to this channel after 3 years!
What have Carbuyer gone and done!?! I can't even watch the complete video anymore as this presenter is just so annoying in every way!!!
Whats thwt hing with brit car reviwers desperately trying to save face with ex British car brands!!
When we like (or don't like) German/Japanese/Italian/French... cars we are accused of bias - and now this! We can't win!
Trousers were ok, sadly your not , spoilt a good review
Be kritisch don't buy British. 🤣
She’s annoying! She should be on a children’s tv channel.
