Christian Accidentally DISPROVES God

  • Today, we're looking at a video by Christian fundamentalist and Young Earth Creationist Jesse Speaks, where he tries to convince us that God, Jesus and the Bible are real. In doing so, he disproves his own case, and shows us a great example of self-brainwashing. He's also pretty punk rock aside from that. Naturally, I have rants. #skeptic #atheist #agnostic #religion #evangelical #apologist #apologetics #reason #logic #philosophy #protestant #catholic

Usually when these people quote or imitate atheists, they have a demeaning tone like we're just stubborn, angry, and stupid; but I never detect more honesty in their voices than when they imagine how atheists desperately pray for God to reveal himself. That's them talking, that's them saying, "But why DOESN'T this god ever reveal itself to us?" Every time.

    • @wesley3300
      @wesley3300 Před 3 měsíci +6

That’s pretty insightful. And to go further, they usually project onto you with their accusations:
      “Why *didnt* god show himself
“Well, if you were just sincere enough…
If you really, truly wanted to know him…
If you approach him with a pure and repentant heart, etc. etc….
Then you would have the same experience we Christians (read: I) have.”
If they applied the same criteria towards themselves towards opposing views, then there might actually be some kind of mutual benefit. Even the most sincere Christians (I was one for a time), is blinded by their own “sanctification” mindset (as if their so-called God would have made a mistake to correct in the first place). It’s so frustrating on either side of the conversation; it’s all so silly but people tend to take their ritual book-club so seriously.

    • @Phoenix_74

A very inspiring point I've learned from atheists is their logical thinking in how they determine their points of view. That it's indisputable. In my experience most Christians beliefs originate from a point of fear. Also, one of the most annoying aspects of Christianity to me is that they come across like an over persistent salesman, or an annoying flies that won't go away!
      And I'm not an athiest😂.
It's my soul, I'll take responsibility for whether or not it will end up in Hell one day, thanks for airing your opinions bit seriously I don't want what you're offering!
And then, to my mind, if a person argues the validity of the bible, well then they clearly haven't read the Bible, how on Earth can any sane person run their life according to that book???😂

When I was a kid in an evangelical church, they preached from the pulpit that; not wearing your seat belt, your hard hat at work, walking across the road without looking both ways, asking God to reveal himself to you, these all fall under the whole "do not temp God" commandment umbrella, so it's a sin to do it. So, then why would I ever go back to Christianity, which wouldn't even agree with its own denomination 50 years ago? And the first Christians didn't even believe Jesus was God, that came later. Much later. Which means, the first Christians were not real Christians, according to modern Christians. Lunacy, that's what Christianity is.

I'm not sure what you mean by "addiction." When Christians talk about "addiction to pronography" they often mean having seen a prono once in their life and that is enough to call it an addiction. There are also many addictions that are not a problem. For example, addiction is not a problem if your life continues to function. If you continue to go to work, continue to have a private life, etc. then addiction isn't actually that bad.

In my humble opinion as an agnostic,
According to astrophysisits We only know about 4 % of what ls out there .
So it's polite to simply say, the data I've collected so far is that I see nature taking its cause, there doesn't seem to me that someone is in control out there, someone ask me, , who woke you up this morning ?,
I will say if someone woke me up, let him make me sleep right now for I never asked him to. The religious person will be so scared, but I don't care, for from deep within I don't believe at all, is not like am trying to offend anyone.
I would like to believe but my rational thinking can't let me, I can't compartmentalise , accept scientific facts yet embrace religion as many do. I can't, am not wired that way.
Few years ago I was working as a driver for a foreigner who was a stouch Christian, would drive him to a church sit in the pew, sometimes translate as he preached, and as he prayed yet I was simply working. Sometimes he would be in a bad mood haul insults at me for no apparent reason. He was 💯 human, his spirituality as with many people I've met, was pure act that could be conveniently be switched on and off.
I would wonder when a host pastor would seriously suggest that I should impart my gift of translating to his assistant who clearly wasn't good at it. In my silence and patience I would pass as a fine believer,
Religion benefits when a level headed person joins it and his good nature is thought to be as a result of his beliefs. Some brutal, selfish narcissistic guys makes religion seem bad because they bring their pride and baggage along...
Yes some people are good because they really believe and they don't want to offend their God by breaking his laws, I must acknowledge that.however it's unfortunate that humans like animals would be tamed by reward and punishment....
If you ask me if there is God I will answer I don't know, it's a more polite and accommodating response, when you tell a believer that there is no God you can't expect him not to be offended..
I would really like there to be God somewhere, and I would like him to be kind, one who is actions aren't miracles by day to day acts that should be so common that is away of life, no one begged to be created to suffer in this world anyway.....
I doubt anyone will read to the end of you did thank you..
