Given how Space battle ship yamato paved the way of making space opera genre and was instrumental in the first evolution of the real robo genre. I say its about time they got into the super robot wars game!

Might Gaine was from the same mecha franchise GaoGaiGar comes from.
Fun fact, Might is voiced by Hiyama Nobuyuki, Viral in Gurren Lagann, and Gaine was voiced by Nakamura Daiki, who played Dayakka in Gurren Lagann.

To use an analogy, this is to the Z series what MX was to Compact 2/Impact. Or at least, it looks like it.
Alternatively, this might be their way of using some of the ideas they might've had for Z3 that didn't make it through.
I personally love seeing Crossbone Gundam (though it's technically Skull Heart being used) and ZZ using Z's engine, but honestly, I'm little exhausted from Unicorn and Full Metal Panic after how much they dominated the plot of Z3. Zambot and Daitarn are also not particularly exciting for me either. At least Shin Mazinger Z has Shin Mazinger Zero to build off of it, and I've always loved Shin Getter Armageddon (though I wish it would appear in voiced SRW with Mazinkaiser), and the Getter Team gets to fight the Great General of Darkness (hopefully Shozo Iizuka returns to give new lines for him and Benkei).
No complaints otherwise; the style and sprites may be reused from Z3, but the animations all look new, and even better than before. And as much as people get tired of Seed Destiny, I personally like seeing it in SRW (though I might complain if it getting in one game may prevent it from getting in another one I might like better). Destiny is already looking great with its new attack.
P.S. Judging from how Kamille, Kappei, Banjou, Shinn, and Kira have portraits based on those from the original Z (I think Banagher and Sosuke's are from X-Omega, which also reused Z portraits), I think we may be seeing a return of the full top-half portraits from the days of "old" instead of Z2/Z3's face-only portraits (which, admittedly, made up for it somewhat with a huge variety of expressions that probably wouldn't work if they did the full top-half portraits).
Well, we don't know what's going on with Crossbone, yet. It showed Skull Heart, yes... But if it's not releasing until next year (like, probably April-ish.) then there's no telling if they added it because it's going to be Skull Heart-only, or because Skull Heart is the most recognizable while intending to show the whole Crossbone plotline.

After playing and replaying SRTJ on the GBA many times over seeing this happening now makes me so happy! Now with all the great things happening like FF7 remake, Persona 5, and the next SRT OG and SRT V getting released in english I am now convinced that I"ll have to get me a PS4!! Another part of me is scared to go outside now because all these great things makes me think I might die soon >.

MIGHT GAINE? MIGHT GAINE??!?!?? Might Gaine was another of the Brave Series, like GaoGaiGar. came right before GaoGaiGar, if I remember correctly. And the VA for the pilot IS Nobuyuki Hiyama, AKA Guy from GaoGaiGar. The mecha's main theme... is trains.
So what exactly is this "brave series" I keep hearing about? Is it just a line of super robot shows that share common themes?
Well, if memory serves, it was a group of shows that a certain studio made as sort of a successor to Transformers. all of the series had "Brave" somewhere in the title. I.E.

and, the one you know
King of Braves, GaoGaiGar
but yeah, GaoGaiGar was the last one, though there WAS another one planned, GaoGaiGo. from what I've dug up, it was far enough in planning that they actually had toys made for that series.
It was where Sunrise and Takara tomy, the company that made transformers, came together and made a number of anime series. For the most part they have transformation gimmicks and are saturday morning cartoon fairs, which can be fun considering alot of darker series, or series trying to be dark, are out now. Gaogaigar is the best remembered and I think best animated of the series.

It feels a bit like a successor to the Z series. That's not necessarily a bad thing because I enjoyed those games. The graphics here look awesome. I'm grateful for the inclusion of the Crossbone Gundam series. We haven't seen them since SRW Alpha 2. Best reveal for me was the addition Yamato 2199. Bold choice. I look forward to playing this.

Hopefully, they will actually have the Hi-Nu Gundam this time around, or at least the HWS equipment. Five games of vanilla Nu got a little old.
I'm kind of disappointed that they did not use V Gundam in here or the original Macross since it might mesh well with Yamato 2199 (yet they still have Seed Destiny)

So is this really the full cast in the game? I don't mind them putting in series that have been in srw before. Like Judah being back is awesome, but I mean come on more than half of these guys were already in the last game Z3 and look exactly the same. I mean they might as well put all the others they left out back in their too like Code Geass and Macross.
It's typically to reuse assets because they have long term deals to use them. It's also tradition to bring in old series and a few new series.
The fun part is this is getting an asia english release too.

I'd say it's the second best Brave series. GaoGaiGar is the King for a reason, but Might Gaine is pretty cool, too. And hopefully it'll help bring up the number of Supers in this game, since it seems so Real-heavy. But when you have a mega heavy hitter like Mazinger ZERO, I suppose that skews the numbers just a bit.

Yeah. I'm down for one that wraps up its own story in one game, after so many series. I think that's why they kept the series relatively small. Daitarn and Zambot can be used in anything, most of the Gundams will probably just be used for ZZ, CCA, and Hathaway's Flash plot, and Prince of Darkness is just a movie, so it won't take up too many stages. So we should have plenty of time with all the other series.
Plus I feel like the protagonist on solo games are more polished due to stories not being extended.

I dunno, I actually really like most of the Z protagonists, and some of the Alpha series protags, at that.
It seems the SRW teams have "pet" series' that they like to use. It seems odd that they let the Z team go again right after Z3.
Cross Ange is perhaps one of the most enjoyable trainwrecks of an anime I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Hirai is almost in pure troll mode the whole time.
Might Gaine was one of the Brave Series, thus one of the predecessors to Gao Gai Gar And yes, the voice actor for the protagonist is the same Gai- I mean, guy.
The Brave Series as a whole is kinda like a cross between Mazinger Z/Zambot 3/Patlabor/Power Rangers(depending on individual series) and Transformers.
If you haven't seen Yamato 2199 yet, go fix that little problem right freakin' now.
Yamato has been on my to-watch list for like a decade.
Love me some XCOM, but for me, Super Robot Taisen will always be better

The GBA games reused sprites and and char pics. Even previous ones before that. J was a more different beast on GBA
They reuse stuff a *lot*. It happens a lot in previous games - especially the long series. That's basically the way they work - they reuse stuff just to keep their lists relatively large without breaking the bank. They'd have to cut stuff out otherwise.
