  • I’ve had this Zline since spring of 2021 and have had and used it for more than 6mo. I love it but wish for a few improvements. I don’t regret it’s purchase but just don’t expect super gourmet stove. Otherwise excellent quality.

    You need to adjust the low setting on your burners. It takes a VERY small, long screwdriver. They call for a 1 mm flat screwdriver. I ordered one from Amazon that said it was 1 mm in diameter but I still had to grind it down to get it into the hole which is in the shaft of each knob. This will help significantly for lowering the burner flame but the small burner will still simmer kind of hot. I cook perfect rice by starting the water to boil on a large burner, putting the rice in, bringing back to a boil, stirring and then putting the covered pot on the smallest burner on the lowest setting for 14 minutes. Cooks perfectly with no scorching. BTW, I have the 46" cooktop version with no oven. info on adjusting the burners was in my owners manual.

    ALL of the burners can be adjusted to the lowest simmer possible. It comes with a special screwdriver that is used to adjust the flame. It has a yellow handle, and you turn the burner on, lower it to the lowest setting, and remove the knob. Insert the screwdriver into the hole in the hole in the center of the knob holder, turn the screwdriver until it you feel it fit into the adjustment screw. Then turn the screwdriver either counter-clockwise or clockwise, and you can adjust the simmer flame down as low as you like. If it gets too low, then the flame will go out. You just relight the eye, and adjust the flame back to the lowest level that will stay on. The instruction booklet walks you through on how to adjust each of your eyes. The oven may not be calibrated to the temp, but I bought a digital thermometer, and even the oven can be easily calibrated to the correct temp. I do bake a lot, and on any oven I have had, I always use a digital temp probe that connects to an external monitor. The front glass on your oven easily slips out for cleaning, so nothing is trapped in that cannot be removed. I have had Wolf & Viking ranges, and my Zline cooks just as well as those, but for less money. Please find you book that came with the range, and it will explain how to adjust your burners, and I have NEVER had any convection oven, gas or electric, that I did not have to rotate thing in the oven at the half way mark.

    The fan you hear is not the round convection oven fan you hear, It is a squirrel cage fan to cool off the top of the oven because little to no insulation exist on topside so air is drawn on the top slit next to your back gas eyes - all the way across. The fan prevents your wires from being fried like the ignitors and it exahust just above the knobs. You can see all of this if you take off the top cover.

    You have to post set your low burn point after you install the burners. The range came with a small tool 🔧 for calibrating your low-burn point for each burner. Your flames are too yellow and are burning with too much oxygen flow. Fyi.

    I have a couple of suggestions for you. Get one of those mats for the bottom of the oven for splatters and spills. They work wonders and makes for easier cleaning. It looks like you could take apart the oven door to clean that by just taking out a couple of screws. I'd call first and see if you could get it serviced by a technician or do it after your warranty is out. I think you could add a piece of oven gasket material there as well. If there is no gasket at the bottom either, you could get something to push or pull a rag through to clean it. Maybe some wire and a thin rag. You could even spray something in it too.

    Just an FYI to add to this, apparently they just did a MAJOR recall on many of these ovens!! "LINE has become aware that the oven component of select gas-on-gas ranges can emit dangerous levels of carbon monoxide (CO) while in use, posing a serious risk of injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning." Please check your model and confirm this is not an issue with your model. The recall says all 48" regardless of color are. go to zline / recalls (For the double ovens recalled its models: RGB-48, RG48, RGS-48)

Having the different size burners like that was a new experience for me and takes some getting used to. Overall, I love my cooktop. Ended up going with the double wall oven. When I have a giant pot of something I don’t like moving it around for diff heat levels. I prefer the big burner especially now that it has been adjusted to have a lower flame setting because it has two rings of flame for better spread of the heat on the bottom of a larger pan. Sometimes the small burner or even the large single burner isn’t as even on a large pot. But hey we can all cook how we prefer ;)

    My Viking had that gap too. A butter knife with a wipe wrapped on it helped me clean out gaps crap.
    I also had a cutting board made to go on top of the griddle so when it was not in use, I really used that to put things and had a place to set spoons.

We just bought this stove recently and were surprised at how brief the "users manual" is - it really does not explain the stove functions all that well. It seems to come on when you turn on the oven, but even when the target temperature is reaches (as indicated by our oven thermometer) the light does not seem to go out. First off thank you for the detailed review because it’s one thing to be able to see it in person but another to know how it’s performed 6 months to a year later. From what I researched about the autograph 48in Zline is the uneven heating oven and griddle/skillet, and that theirs not a lot of service techs even in bigger cities that’ll agree to work on or service these. Which makes me somewhat hesitant I’m pretty handy but I read a lot of reviews from various sites where customers expressed several issues and not being able to go any distant of time without another or the same problem coming back around. I’m curious you mentioned you were consider Kutch and one other one. Did you not consider the GE Cafe? I’ve read some great reviews on it and has a few features like some vortex flame for cooktop feature. I personally think the Zline looks better than Cafe from the photos but maybe in person it’s different. Anyways your kitchen looks amazing and thanks again for your honest and detailed feedback. The vent over the top of stove is there to catch that heat.
    You're flat top grill flames need to be adjusted too so it then will heat correctly.

      @@BlondeBell89I was thinking of getting this but reviews have me considering making a 60” inch by getting 2 very nice gas stoves instead. When I saw it done, it looked great. That way everything cooks evenly since the larger ranges tend to be less quality. Do you ever have both ovens going?

    So I came here along time ago and made a comment happen to come back by accident.
    So I'm hooking up a new Z-line range for someone .
    So your flames can be adjusted .
    Also looks like the air ratio to gas is not adjusted correctly.
    How you can tell is you got a yellow orange looking flame versus a nice blue flame.
    That thing can be adjusted way down the flame You have to adjust it by turning knob too on to high flame setting 🔥
    Then turn it to lowest setting while on.
    Then take turn knob off and in the small hole in the turn knob pipe there's a tiny screw you have to turn to set the flame.
    Turning it to lowest setting not turning it to low then place knob back on good too go .
    Your air gas ratio is controlled a different way.

    The cooling fan is what is running, during all functions of the oven. Normal operation

    • @the1blkman
      @the1blkman Před 2 lety +3

      Why do people keep saying that it's normal for this "cooling" fan to be running? EVERY low end oven i've ever used, since I was a kid watching my grandmother bake didn't have this fan and the ovens ran so well I just assumed ovens in any range worked/baked beautifully without that fan and extra noise. So I get a zline and that fan never cut off and we're not talking about the convection fan, just this random fan. The oven never heated up to temp from day 1. From the 1st day I had the thing the oven was a nightmare. I fully believe that dang fan was the culprit. Ruined my whole thanksgiving and xmas meals. I returned it, it was awful.

    • @BlondeBell89
      @BlondeBell89  Před 2 lety +2

      @@dunpaintn Zline didn't seem to know other than to say it was the design, just like my replacement, a Thor, they said the temp difference was designed for bakers which was the stupidest answer i've ever heard.
