- I went back to a nice little creek that has produced historic gold for over 170 years, for 3 days of prospecting, and working a gold deposit I've been mining for 2+ years. We did pretty good! Southern Oregon had a lot of snow this winter, so the rivers are raging and access is difficult.

Dude. Good job. A great job would be classifying to 1/4 and keeping all the rocks out of your expensive mat as you lost a bit of gold. My option only. Much love bro
Thanks man! Only reason i use 1/2" and not 1/4" is one time i panned a crevice, and by sheer luck a 1g nugget barely made it through the 1/4"! So it's a bit of a trade off, but wont miss a nug. Might go back to 1/4" on certain creeks tho

hi Matt, yeah, that was my first time. It was really cool seeing you & all the miners I see on CZcams, wish I could have talked to you, but I was overwhelmed by all the good miners there & very friendly. I had a great time & found a nice shady spot to work, but didn't get too much, but that was ok, I probably worked an area that was worked pretty good already, found bedrock, but needed more time to work. Need to be more mobile to work different areas. I did win a bag of pay dirt w/ 1 gm of gold. I need to start getting out more. I need to find someone to go out with, can't seem to find anyone. Trying to get my brother to go, maybe one day, I told him I can guarantee him gold if he comes with me. We are just so busy. Good luck over there in Oregon, take care, Serg

You know there is platinum ores in these mountains and streams. I'm from Coos Bay and I find it in the pan a lot.

Simply place a bucket over the gutter so that the sand can sink, while you can continue shoveling.

Sometimes I camp, but I like a shower after a hard day minin! Usually rent a place the weekend

Awesome! Depending where you live the best bet is join a prospectors club. The GPAA (gold prospectors association of america) is a good place to start
