    This is mostly good for keeping algae at bay. I measured the CO2 levels in my aquarium before adding this, then measured again after a couple of weeks of use and did notice that ambient CO2 levels had doubled in my aquarium from the natural baseline, but it was still a very very small amount compared to pressurized CO2. As you also speculated, I think the real benefit is allowing the plants to do their job more efficiently by keeping algae off the leaves.

    Do love the content i use TNC lite mainly due to having high tap nitrates dosing with complete gives me 60ppm lol also easycarbo is great for BBA treatment double dosing for 5 days turns it red now how does it work well think elements they are heavy this may cause root feeds to grow wild and leaf feeders no change its all about how the plant feeds ,,,was you also dosing your stock ferts ?

  • @SuperScorpiorising
    @SuperScorpiorising Před 3 lety +3

    I use the T.Premium and the EasyCarbo too. The EC really helps to get rid of any unwanted algae. I think the Carbon binds with Oxygen molecules in the water to create CO2 and then dissipates at the surface or something to that effect.

    • @DanielKeepingFish
      @DanielKeepingFish  Před 3 lety +1

      They are right it’s not C02 it’s Carbon - which is what plants need, liquid carbon is good but it can’t deliver better growth than a C02 gas system. With plants that have lower carbon requirements it’s perfect.
      There are some plants that don’t do so well with liquid carbon so it’s always best to research before use.

  • @Shaden0040
    @Shaden0040 Před 3 lety +1

    by taking in more light the plants can metabolie more CO2 to make sugars.

    • @DanielKeepingFish

      Definitely said better than I did Pup. I was on the right track then though hey?

  • @zipz8423
    @zipz8423 Před 3 lety

    With some the pants you will be able to lower light requirements because the algae killing properties of the liquid will be more pronounced.
    I’ve used easy carbo for years in a 300 ltr planted tank. You have to put the right amount in, too little and growth will be minimal, too much and it can be damaging to plants and fish.

    I've used easy carbo for years and have seen great results, BUT, the last 3 months or so the results leveled out, and I have stopped using it and also I've gone from weekly water changes to twice weekly and only dosing ferts once a week at the recommended dose ..... my tank has NEVER looked so good, I really think that you can over interfere with your aquariums, there is an argument for letting nature just do what nature does...... we will see, maybe ill get punished with algae down the line, but at the moment I'm enjoying sitting in front of my tank Instead of constantly fiddling, trimming doseing, changing water etc.... Great vid though, 👌 as per usual, later later later.......

    • @DanielKeepingFish
      @DanielKeepingFish  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah definitely agree with you. One of the beauties of our hobby is that we can do as much or as little as we want in terms of interfering and still get great results.
      I have tanks that I tinker with quite a lot and others I barely touch.
      All I'm doing here is testing out a product Angelfish Keeper gave me and reporting on my findings but I would always recommend messing with a tank as little as possible if everything is going well.
      Hope you had a nice Christmas and 2021 treats you well bud.

    Having had little success with growing plants I gave Easycarbo a try. I have 3 tanks. One of 120lt but probably only having 100 ltrs after substrate etc, another of 60 ltrs with around 50ltr actual capacity, and a small 12 ltr breeding tank.
    The 120ltr tank was given a dose of 2ml late yesterday, and the 60ltr tank dosed with 1ml. The breeding tank was left alone.
    So, this morning I saw all the fish desperately sucking air from the top of the tank, all the (surviving) golden shrimp clutching onto floating plants also sucking air from the surface and numerous others already dead on the bottom.
    This is certainly a disaster. If shrimp can be killed by this stuff, then even though it hasn't actually killed a fish, (yet) it certainly can't be good for them. Sort of like overdosing on paracetamol. It won't kill you but it'll sure as hell damage something, probably your liver.
    So, it's back to the CO2 bottles I gave up on last year.

    • @DanielKeepingFish
      @DanielKeepingFish  Před 2 lety

      Woa that's a pretty bad experience, I'm sorry to read that. That's a pretty dramatic reaction from a pretty low does especially in the 120. Did you have air running? I'm thinking maybe the algae that was killed off obviously wasn't producing oxygen over night, running an air stone might help.
      I guess it doesn't matter now anyway because you'll have done a water change and stopped using it but thanks for sharing your experience for others to consider.
