    You've got a knack for choosing the parts I want! Looking forward to catching up with your channel. Floorboards have become a little underrated I think and these low profile ones sure look good on there to me. Thrashin nailed it. To me all the the others I've seen are either too big (for a softail) or are the "mini" type that don't do the job quite as well. Thanks for the install demo.

      Thanks Andrew, I appreciate that for sure. I do love the thrashin parts, I run many on my bikes. They do a great job with adding quality parts that are better designs than most for me so far.
      Keep at it and look forward to seeing what yours comes to be.

    I purchased those same mini floorboards from my dealer and got the same instructions. I bought them for passenger floorboards on my road glide and it was a way different set up than your RG. I thought they were old, guess they're are two different styles and my HD dealer didnt know. They still work fine but I liked the ones you put on yours.

      Thanks for the comments. Yea, on the site there are two options I found out. One has the male flat mounted pin attachment and the other has the female like mine for the spring. I had to exchange them for the correct attachment, lol. I was hoping to show that. Funny on the instructions, I guess they just figure it connects the same way but I think for the price it should be the exact instructions.
      Appreciate the feedback, ride safe.

    I put these on my bike soon after I got it. Actually temecula Harley Davidson did it for me. So whenever I had to put the kick stand down, I was hitting my lower shin and at the end of one day was pretty badly bruised. And on the brake side, the rear brake was basically flush with the board. I thought they sucked. Temecula HD said it couldn’t be adjusted. Thrashin said had to adjust at the master cylinder. I sure as hell don’t know. Took em off and sold on FB. Still have no boards 😵‍💫

      Thanks for the comments. Yes, the black version of the HD forward controls level the pad and are a pain. Now, if you watch my video on the heritage boards install, you can have full boards on your low rider st. I love them, so much better.

    One unsolicited recommendation I have for your fxlrst is to swap out that forward control rear brake lever and replace it with an HD one with an independent brake pad. It will increase the ergonomic angle to a better position for controlling the input when applying the rear brake imo. I forget the part # on mine but it should be in my video comments. I feel it was Definitely one of the best things I customized on the bike besides installing an aftermarket suspension.

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  Před 11 měsíci +1

      If I am understanding you properly, you mean the small indented screw (1 per side) that helps to stop the board from shifting? If so, that is called a set screw. You can contact Thrashin and see if they may have some spares or maybe a set to sell you that fit it. Just be sure to loc-tie them to help stop them from backing out.
      If not, take one to your local hardware store to see if they can match it maybe.

    did you notice a difference with more vibration being all metal on metal now ?

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  Před rokem +1

      Hey Matt, thanks for the question. There is a little more vibration that I feel in the boards, but to be honest, it does not bother me. The stock pegs were not much less due to it only having a rubber cover, I still felt vibration on those as well, but the boards are a more direct connection for sure.
      Well worth it in my opinion, but you do feel that your feet are a touch higher than the pegs because of it being a board.

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  Před rokem +1

      Hey Stan, thanks for the question, much appreciated. I adjusted the initial setting by tipping the floorboards until it felt right. I wanted to try it without adjusting the brake arm to see how it worked, but realized I will need to adjust the brake arm. Initially, as you stated it was very low and almost even to the board, and a bit far inside. The air cleaner change helped, but not enough. I am looking at a different more stock like brake arm to fix that issue, the chromed kit has a different arm, but it's chrome.. Unless you want to powder coat it all which did not make sense. Thrashin is currently working on a new brake arm for this bike (cause Lance has one now, lol) that I hope they release soon. I may try that one and see if it makes it more functional when they do.

      @THRASHIN products on 3 of my 4 bikes and would put them on my rocket if ever the designs came about.
      The biggest benefit for me on the LRST was putting fwd controls and these boards, I am a lil over 5' 11", and on my RGST was putting the adjustable boards, bars, gauge relo and various foot controls. Well worth it in my opinion, but as always, will be a individual preference per rider.
