- FINALLY had the time to complete my 2022 Low Rider ST Thrashin Bars, Risers, and Gauge Relocation Project!
I did a few other additions since I was there, plus highlighted a couple helpful tips and cool tools. It’s a long one for sure, but very detailed to help anyone who wants to tackle this themselves to save those labor charges! Don’t miss the ride POV test at the end!

Thank you! Much appreciated. I was trying to keep the length as low as possible due to it was a lot of detail lol. I will be posting a short soon of a walk around so stay tuned.
One of the best videos I"ve seen for this upgrade
Thank you very much. I really tried to cover as much as I could for everyone.
I have a similar front set up on my 2020 Low Rider S. It is a sweet rider. I have a ST fairing to mount on later on. I am still enjoying my T fairing. The kept the stock gauges on the tank but have my Dyno Vision gauge mounted on top to read all my specs. It is so much more comfortable with that set up. I appreciate the tutorial video. ❤
Much appreciated, 100% agree on the comfort with the change and thanks for the comments, ride safe.
Great content, your camera work is perfect, kudos.
I'd like to see the new levers from the front of the bike.
Glad I found this channel today definitely will be following along thank you ☝️👏
Thank you! Much appreciated.
I have a 2020 fxbb and I’m 5,10 running a 13 inch fox mono shock in the rear if I run this exact same bar and gauge set up think I’ll be good right now I’m running lucky Dave’s lucky 13 which are 13 inch with same pull back t bar looking to switch to bar and riser
Thanks allot 🤘🏻
Thank you! Much appreciated!
I just completed this install on my ‘24 st with the help of your video. Thanks for that btw. I haven’t taken it out yet but I turned every on and everything appears to be functioning properly.
My traction control indicator doesn’t seem to coming on. So I’ll have to look into that. But overall not too bad
Thank you and congrats. Not sure about the TC since I don’t have that on my 22. May want to check with the dealer.
Ride safe.
The ST looks killer , love all the upgrades you did , i am six feet tall and would do the same , i have a 2011 Dyna street bob club style, similar mods and its shit ton of fun. Great job.
Thank you! Much appreciated brother!
Great video I think maybe I missed part number for the gauge ..
Thank you. All the needed part numbers are listed in the description for your reference.
Enjoy and ride safe.
@@justkillnbugz really hmmm I’ll look again didn’t see the gauge part number. Thanks. 🙏🏻
@@justkillnbugz got it thanks FOR quick reply. I actually use the Dakota digital gauge but my buddy wants to use the HD ..
Wow bugs getting really good with those mechanical skills!!!
Much appreciated!
Video inspires me to do all the upgrades myself. It's only the brake and clutch lines that have me worried. Thank you for sharing and documenting. Do you mind sharing the total cost? 💰💰💰
Thank you, much appreciated! You can get the actual cost of parts from the links I provided, minus the cables and miscellaneous parts from the dealer. But, looking at about $1500.00 to $1700.00 in parts. If you had the dealer install it, you are looking at and additional 8 to 10 hours labor according to “the book” x whatever their rate is. Definitely worth doing yourself. The clutch is very easy, the brake cable just needs a process to minimize leakage and function afterwards.
I tried to walk through each step to help make it easier. Ride safe and have fun.
Thx for this video! There is one thing i didnt like on my low rider st...the gauge..and now i know i can switch it:)
But Dude, is the gauge you used the original from the low rider s?
Thx!
Thanks, much appreciated. Yes, the gauge is for a 2021 low rider s. Works perfectly and the part number is in the description.
Ride safe.
Not pertaining to this video but did changing out the cylinders, pistons and rings cure the puking oil problem on the bike, got the same problem with my 2023 model, im running the same S&S breather you got.
Thanks for the question, yes, in my case it did. I did a closing video here: czcams.com/video/TTmTUlU7Yio/video.htmlsi=x3-p7Td9y1MBSPvj
on the summary of events and what they found. Be sure to get that in to the dealer if not already and have them resolve it ASAP. It is NOT anything to do with the air cleaner and feel free to reference my video series on this issue (there are a few) if they give you any push back on it. There have been several comments on these with others experiencing the same issue on the LRST models for 2022 (and maybe newer).
Hope it helps, ride safe!
Love the video! I wanna do the same on my Low Rider ST 22. Just a quick question. Do I need the specific Gauge from the Lowrider S or will any other analog Gauge from the 2020 up Softail work? For example the one from the FatBob. Just asking because the Lowrider S gauge is not available right now... Dealer couldnt give me an answer to that.
Thank you for the comments. I included the gauge you need to order from HD in the comments. The only difference will be if you have the RDRS option installed on the bike, I think 2023 and 2024 models. If you do, I would ask the dealer which one would work.
Enjoy and ride safe.
You left out the ABS digital tech step at the Dealership.
To make the ABS function correctly
Thanks for the comment. I did not mention the dealership since my ABS functioned as designed when I bled them the way I did. I had no lights, no errors and both front and back operated as it should. "If" that is not the case on an install and the light stays on, then you are correct, you can go to the dealer and have them bleed the brakes on the machine which will actuate the ABS and flush the fluid through. I did not do a full brake bleed so I am guessing that is why mine worked after the install.
Thanks again and ride safe.
I bought all the parts to do the risers and bars, but the abs have me worried. I've never done brakes before. Did you drain the fluid completely from rhe calipers
Thanks for the question. The bleed made me a bit nervous as well, kinda indicated that in the video lol. Yes, I started by draining the master, then drained each of the front calipers. I showed how in the video and the pneumatic pump really helped (there are other cheaper tools if you don't have a compressor). Once done, reverse it and test. I had no error lights and the brakes and ABS worked just fine.
If you do run in to an issue with the ABS, you can always run down to the dealer and have them re-bleed them on the machine.
Ride safe.
doing this upgrade this weekend ,when disconnecting the wiring is the wiring all marked ,or do just figure it out thanks
Thanks for the question. The wiring is not marked, but pretty much a one only connection. I took photos along the way so I knew what was where and taped the disconnected ones before I pulled anything to help stop confusing myself.
Have fun, you’re gonna love it.
Does the quage relocation kit work on the 2023 by chance
Thanks for the question. Should work just fine no changes to the bike other than color and Thrashin added that to theirs as well.
Did you replace the complete clutch cable or just the top part
I replaced just the top half. The part number I used and listed will be for the upper cable only.
What length of cables will my wife need for her 9 1/2 and mid rise from thrashin. If you may know, i know spedo and Throttle is +6 but not sure on clutch and front break
Thanks for the question. All the needed part numbers are listed in the description so you know what to get. Ride safe.
@@justkillnbugz thank you for the response and thank you for the videos
If you have a bike without the TC this is the correct gauge. I just learned this the hard way
Thanks for the info. My 22 does not have TC. Can you exchange it if not past the VIN lock? Not sure on the newer LR gauges and compatibility.
Ride safe.
@@justkillnbugz they said I can. Either way it’s not that big a deal I ordered what I hope is the correct one 😂
50 miles is the bin lock right?
@@fonso003 I believe so but best to check the documentation just to be sure. some may be different. Glad you can sort it out.
Ride safe.
@@justkillnbugz official from Harley. 31.1 miles til vin lock. Trip B counts it down for you
Did you have any issues with the red security light staying lit solid on the speedo after starting the bike?
Nope. If you purchase the gauge I indicated in the description it worked perfectly. Ride safe.
I currently have that now. Ordered the gauge from this video. U1305c. Cannot get it to clear
@@fonso003 I would check with the dealer on a compatibility list for LRSTs with TC. I don’t have that on mine.
Ride safe.
Do you think those cables will reach 10.5 in risers?
Thanks for the question. I would say probably not, they are pretty close to what is needed with the 9.5s so you would probably need to go up a size the the length to cover that extra inch or so.
Best of luck.
Can you also see the km/h on the gauge or only mp/h?
The gauge shows the digital readout for mph by default. Once the bike is turned on, if you press the odometer/trip reset button on the left handlebar controls and hold it, it should switch. I believe you have to hold it for several seconds, perhaps at least 10 seconds or more (from what I have read from those who have done so).
I’m running the same clutch cable, but it seems to be too short?
That seems odd if you ordered the same part number. Hmm. Verify your touting is good and if it is, contact the dealer and be sure they gave you the correct one.
Hope it works out.
@@justkillnbugz Did you reroute the clutch cable differently from the stocked routing?
Are you 6ft 1 ? I was wondering if I could do this bar sit up at 5ft 10. Thanks
Thanks for the question. I am 5’11” so should be just fine for you. You will love it. Ride safe.
@@justkillnbugz thank you bro 🙏
M 5-7 maybe 5-8 on a good day lol have same setup risers bar , works pissa…..
Did u have the ABS reset by the dealer...?
I did not need to, Worked fine as I showed in the video. If I run in to issues I will for sure have the run a test just in case.
How tall are you mate?
Thanks for the question. I am about 5’11”.
