For those of you youngsters, I am 84 years old and came to this "old" time Country Music from youth and middle age spent listening to the early folk music. You know, Woodie Guthrie, The Weavers, Pete Seeger. So you young people, I love this guy. I just wish I had another 84 years to listen to him and the others.

I wish I was old enough to have had the chance to see all of the true country stars live. To live with that would be an amazing gift. Instead I have to search the archives, because never again will it be appreciated like it was, like I appreciate it. I want to say thank you to the people who have the love for the artists who left us with such raw beauty. To you, and to all who gifted us, thank you.
there are very few times I've heard somebody cover a song so good that I enjoyed it atleast as much as the original but this is one of them and so were Waylons other covers. "Can't you see" and "midnight rider" are 2 that come to mind. Somehow never heard this one before but I love it. Waylon never just "sang" a song. You always knew he felt it..you could hear it in his voice. Something you don't get often these days. A part of music died with him
Willie Waylon Johnny Chris Merle, There will never be any country singers like them again. They were the best, and to hear there music takes me back to when i was a kid i love it.
Well we got Chris Stapleton the song nobody to blame but me sounds a lot I mean almost haunting like Waylon lyrics, timing and guitar licks even the way ol Chris’s sings it if you haven’t already there’s a good version of it live on here David letterman show ol Chris he’s about all we got today that comes close to real hand written on subjects you can understand and relate to in songs like are hero’s sang! Ol Chris’s spent some time with David Allen coe and Jamie Johnson most of his music he writes I beleve he covered Tennessee whiskey it’s a little differant but a good blues like striped down version of the song I like it it’s good that they bring back some of the old and as long as they don’t totally ruin it I like that it does give others that don’t know it a chance to say that’s a good song and see it’s around 40 years old and written by David Allen coe!
Metallica's version and Waylon's version are both fantastic and outstanding. Please be advised young people that you should appreciate every type of versions of an excellent piece of music, like this.
Music, just for the music,NO GIMMICKS! If the 'music' is worth listening to, it DOES NOT NEED ANY GIMMICKS! ! ! That's all Waylon ever made, MUSIC! ! !
Waylon! What can you say? He was kinda like everybody's favorite uncle who couldn't do any wrong. Damn sure left a hole in me on 2-13-02. Never be another Good Timing Man. Those shoes can never be filled

You can hear Waylon's soul in his voice. We won't see his equql, Waylon was one of a kind.
Such a shame music has taken a shit.Thank God for CZcams and being able to pull out my phone and listen to some actual music when I'm in need

Who's here in 2021? His voice just gives you the chills.
Sure wish i could have seen Waylon perform live. I'll always regret not getting to see one of his concerts.
Waylon is something else! Nobody can match his voice. He put his own twist on the songs he sang.
by far the best version of this song,,, thank you Bob for writing this, BUT Waylon sings it like it was his own !!!!
I am so much in love with Waylon.....I listen to every song he has sung ❤❤❤❤
