I loved that Matthews move when he pulled the entire NJ team to his direction. Such a damn smart move. He's so underrated smart. He knows he's the center of attention and uses that to his advantage.

Bowen and Ralph were hysterical on the radio for this one, the Gio goal was initially reported as 1 second after Bertuzzi's first because of a clock glitch. Everybody had a good laugh about that.
I don't hate the Bertuzzi-Matthews-Domi line, it has been good. But, I'm VERY concerned about putting Nylander down on the 3rd line when he's got 1 goal in his last 9, and likely won't hit 100 points now. He's supposed to be a primary scoring option, you can't have him going into the playoffs on a cold streak. Domi is a good setup man, but when the good teams clamp down on Matthews, you're not getting a goal from Domi.
Thanks for taking my question Steve! Fully agree! Let’s get through Round 1 and see what happens, as a Leafs/Bruins fan though, I have always wanted that last Atlantic division series (round 2), to be them and I’m pulling for it. Winner of that has a great shot at the final, no matter who survives the Metro.

Devils fan here, obviously I'm fine with the Devils losing their remaining games. Hoping Matthews can pot a few more tonight to get closer to 70. In the meantime, I'm really glad to see Allen fitting in well in Jersey and excited for next year, barring a good off-season by Fitz.

Matin Jones deserves to play a few games. He bailed them out of the deepest hole the Leafs have been in for years. They had NO goalie.... and he did amazing in support!!!! He would have been 4th string by the numbers and played really really well.

We all want Matthews to hit 70, it would be amazing. But deep down in our heart of hearts (and juvenile brains) we want 69.

Make Holmberg our 4C and make the third line a bit of a shutdown line with some scoring threat with Kampf, McMann, Jarnkrok if he’s back. I like Marner Tavares and Nylander together. Play Marner on the third line with Kampff or Matthews in d zone when games on the line.
Matthews got goal number 60 (2021-2022 Season) agaisnt the red wings. It would be so good if he got 70 against them on Saturday

Imo if matthews doesnt score 2 goals in the next 2 games keefe will limit his play against florida and sit him in tampa…but if he scored 2 or 3 in the next 2 i dont see why you dont let him go for 70…he might never come this close again

A few weeks ago they asked if I could score in the NHL and I said no way, probably not even in the "A"... but I think given the right spot I could set Auston up for an assist... because a blind guy with one hand could. Matthews is just that unreal.a

If Matthews hits 70 goals, I think Steve needs to do a bit where he does Elmo's voice calling the game and singing the Elmo song, except the lyrics to the song are "This is the call, la-la-la-la, Elmo's call! . . ." Then he does Ken Daneyko's voice as the color commentator who says "Sesame Street was brought to you by the letter 'N', the letter 'J', and the New Jersey State lottery, because anything can happen in Jersey!"
