I am sitting here smiling from ear to ear after watching about 5 of these videos. You are so beautiful. my favorites are the eldest elders and the little bitty ones! Next, everyone in-between! I love that social or ceremonial, everyone can dance. However long and whatever pace they choose or need. Everyone can dance. I don't dance anymore due to injury and age. White dancing does not allow it. If you can't keep up, or be jerked around, best to just sit down. Kids dance separate and the eldest dance among themselves, too. I love this. Consistently - everyone of every age and ability can participate. If I ever visited, could I be in a social dance like this?

I've been to some of the Navajo dances. Isn't this dancing called a yabeschi? I know the spelling isn't right. I love the Navajo people. I graduated from Monument Valley High School in Kayenta. My best friend was Teddy Begay. We went through an all-night ceremony with a Navajo medicine man so we could become blood brothers. His shi ma (mother) and now my adopted mother, made me a Navajo rug that I cherish!

That dance u mentioned is similar in dances but the music is different in whats ceremonial and social. This song and dancing here is purely social and enjoyment 😉
