      I have it and was amazed how off my levels were before using this disc (especially LFE and height). Like you, I found the panning test a good way of seeing where the limits or shortfalls of my 5.1.2 setup were.

    That intro was great! I love the idea of using the LFE file in Speaeker Crossover section to handle the rattles in your room. Very clever! I can't wait to see what's up with your 15-channel upgrade.

  • @D1Calderon
    @D1Calderon Před rokem

    Great points on the weakpoints but I think you will be limited or hinder your experience by adding more speakers than 7.1.4 due to the mixing/content of ATMOS for home use vs commercial use. Imax Enhanced content may be different

      @hatoraidcowboy  Před rokem +1

      Let me be clear…..I don’t NEED 9.2.6…LOL But my room is very long so it’s actually beneficial for my needs. But you’re right a lot of Atmos & DTS:X mixes might not utilize that configuration. But it will still enhance the experience with upmixing though 😃

      Hi John! The Crossover Points section starts at 250Hz and goes down to 16Hz in varried increments (250, 200, 160, 125, 100, 80, 63, 50, 40, 32, 25, 20, 16)

      @JohnARobinsonJr Před rokem +1

      Cool... It's ordered...
      I usually use REW with the miniDSP UMK mic to calibrate my setup. But what it can't do, is evaluate spatial objects on the fly. After carefully listening, some movies sound like they don't have spatial effects and some movies do. Not talking about old movies, just seems like some newer movies should have better hand off to other speakers, since my processor says it's in Atmos. And yes, my room correction is on point, but I'm always tweaking my setup.
      This seems like a useful tool to evaluate my spatial sound stage. Can't wait to utilize it. 👍🏿

      @@hatoraidcowboy will do... By the way, I recommend getting the miniDSP UMIK microphone. I can't speak on the Polk speakers, but the Arendals should have a lot deeper in room response than what their specifications say. (The Towers and Monitors). So, I've been running them full.
      Can't wait to receive it.

    • @hatoraidcowboy
      @hatoraidcowboy  Před rokem

      Personal preference….REW let’s you measure your speakers in your room, and with some room correction software let’s you upload that data to make your own curve.

    • @Elliott-Designs
      @Elliott-Designs Před rokem

      With programs like rePhase and something called convolution (a DSP process) you can get an equivalent correction to something like Dirac, also known as mixed phase filtering. Well, apart from something like their multi-sub or their new tech they're coming out with that uses the speakers to compensate for each other spatially (like their multi-sub but for full range). REW is a manual program, it can be used to do many things

    • @JonMoralesLA
      @JonMoralesLA Před rokem +1

      @@Elliott-Designs Ok so I googled rephase and convolution. Interesting indeed but I don’t understand how these tie in to a practical Home Theatre use case??? How would you use the rephase software with a Denon receiver for example?

    • @Elliott-Designs
      @Elliott-Designs Před rokem

      @@JonMoralesLA if doing it with a receiver you'd be using the receiver as a processor and utilising it's preouts into DSP devices like the MiniDSP-HDs, from there you'd amplify. Things would be so much easier of obiect-based audio was open source.

    • @JonMoralesLA
      @JonMoralesLA Před rokem +1

      @@Elliott-Designs That seems quite unwieldy to have multiple DSPs in line for all of my 11 channel setup. I do have a 5 channel amp but this would require a second amp as well. Just so much cost and hardware. Hope there’s an easier path.
