Alien 3, perhaps the best of five failed sequels from 1986 to 1992 that include Poltergeist II, Psycho III, Jaws: The Revenge, and Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. But Alien 3 is still a failed sequel that belongs in the group. However, Alien 3 has moments of worthy art, like some of the end credits score.

Lol I like every Alien movie except Resurrection because I do have a reason an its that Resurrection just felt like it was just for the money and it wasn't really good. Although every other Alien including Prometheus and Covenant are awesome, Alien 3 was the end of the trilogy and it will always be.
Let me clear things up for you a bit. Look at the tickets sold after opening weekend of all eight Alien films, including the two Alien cross-over films with the Predator franchise, and you'll see that the first two Alien films sold 48 million tickets after their opening weekends combined. The last six Alien films, starting with Alien 3 and ending with the Ridley Scott film from two years ago, have sold only 40 million tickets after their opening weekends combined. That should tell you something right there. 48 million for two films vs 40 million for six films. The first two Alien films from 1979 and 1986 were superior to all the other films.

Anyway, I felt compelled to mention a couple of things in response to some things that had been said. But to answer your question, there are plenty of times where tickets sold or tickets sold after opening weekend match up with the quality of films either in a movie franchise that attacks God (1986-1992) or for directors like William Friedkin and M Night Shyamalan, both of whom directed hit movies about people losing their faith. Neither filmmaker made much of an effort to publicly declare their need for God. There are also times where the box office doesn't match up with the quality of the film. I'll take the box-office dud The Right Stuff over the hit movie Top Gun any day of any year. And you have three quality films from the fall of 1994 that didn't do anything at the box office. Many times tickets sold after opening weekend says a lot about a film. Some times it doesn't.

Don't get the haters off this movie, it portrays a SINGLE Alien to be extremely fucking deadly, even more so than the first movie, it literally kills the entire fucking colony of over 20 people, even Ripley makes the ultimate sacrifice to stop it. Yes it's not perfect but compared to fucking Resurrection and that disaster called Covenant it's a masterpiece lol. This movie makes the Alien scary and a real threat. The only thing I hated was the fact they killed off Hicks and Newt and even Bishop. I really hope James Cameron doesn't disregard this film if he makes a new one, that would be unfair.

I love how mostly of the comentary who dont like Alien 3 are because "Newt and Hicks die" people plz! Growth! the movie point wasnt the really fight of the alien and ripley it was more the finish of Ripley nightmare's, i loved the ending cause after so much survive and fight she finally rest, it wasnt well maded cause of Fox interruptions, but im pretty sure that if they didnt touched anyting the movie would be awesome, to bad what happended really. what fans wanted? what they are doing now? prometheus? alien covenant? plz. . . . . . . .
Most people only use that point as a meme/joke. Frankly, if their deaths mattered in service to the story, they could die in any one of a hundred ways. There are many other reasons why people don't like the film. The dark, brooding plot after the previous film was a glorified war movie, the interchangable prisoners, the butchered plot (Assembly Cut is slightly better, but not by much), the confusing chase scene in the tunnels... I've always viewed A3 as an "interesting failure". It's actually the film that got me into the franchise, so I have a soft spot in my heart for it, but I recognize that it did, and still does, have problems. And no, I don't think Prometheus is what fans wanted. The less said about that and Covenant, the better.
Never found out the name either, all I know is that it was theme associated with the companies entrance and it fits that picture to epic proportions ! :)
I think I could’ve done a great Alien 3: Aliens had a cool story where humans fought back, I would’ve done more of that, Ripley, Newt, Hicks, and Bishop would’ve been alright(the last one would’ve been restored), and I think that their ship could’ve made it to Earth, the Queen left one last egg that let out a royal facehugger on Earth. They try to have things settled after what happened on LV-426, and a Queen and Hive is setup on Earth. The 4 try to give humanity a chance at a heroic resistance, instead of Ripley being impregnated, Newt dead, Bishop deactivated, and Hicks dying only to have been brought back in Colonial Marines. I love how they brought him back in Colonial Marines, Cloned Xenomorphs and the Runners were cool, but Alien 3 should’ve been different. Newt, Bishop, Hicks
wuushew If you think Alien 3 is a masterpiece, you must be from an alternate reality where they decided to make William Gibson's version of Alien 3 instead. The Alien 3 I saw had its plot based entirely on several plot holes and logical errors which were utilized to not only shoehorn Ripley into immediately facing off against the aliens again but also to kill off Hicks and Newt in the opening, making the whole last movie 100% pointless. Next, in order to add insult to injury, the movie refuses to introduce any interesting new characters to replace Hicks and Newt and instead opts to make every new person a bald rapist/murderer that the viewer can't feel any sympathy for due to them having little to no character development and of course, being rapists and murders. To make matters worse, all the prisoners are nearly indistinguishable from each other, making it even harder to get attached to any of them. Another massive problem is the fact that the Alien 3 I saw just retreaded the same exact themes as the last two movies (loss, isolation, defenselessness, survival) without doing anything new. One of the main themes in Aliens, was how Ripley had to face her fears and find reason to live again, and she did just that. In Alien 3, they immediately shoehorned her into fighting against an alien again, even though she had already conquered her fears in Aliens. The Alien 3 I watched is one of the worst sequels ever made, but like I said, you must be from an alternate reality where they made the William Gibson version of Alien 3 instead, in which case, I am super jealous.
bwalsh17 The only plot hole i see is egg on Sulaco and about others well Alien 3 is dark and depresing i can understand why people like Hicks because i like him too but really you like Newt its the most anoying thing in Aliens especially when she screams Ripleyyyyyyy and AAAAAAAAA about Ripley fear who said that story must be end with good happy ending so we have dirty prision with bugs criminals both characters with Aliens dead well three because Bishop is damaged all of this makes dark depresing atmosphere i cant agree with you that Alien 3 is shit i can agree we cant feel sympathy to prisoners but maybe that was point and target its not soo good like Alien and Aliens but still good(especially with this all behind the scenes shit during making movie David Fincher make Alien 3 the best it could be) movie especially if we compare it to Alien Resurrection which is more parody of aliens than aliens movie(also Alien Resurrection have more story holes like make Ripley clone with her blood with Alien queen which is impossible because chestbuster its external organism not coded in DNA) and boring and stupid prequel Prometheus

3:17 God part.
Richard is sick
Tywin Fucking Lannister too! 🤘
Funny fact this same score was used in Batman Forever. Type Perils of Gotham into CZcams and you will see what I mean.
Such sad
I guess from the original trilogy this i rank the least even though i still love it. But the soundtrack... best of the 3!
2:39 which track is this?
Yes it is most radiant vibration in this piece!! Need to find that out.. it makes me feel "original"
“It’s Started” on the La-La-Land Limited Extended Edition album.
Never found out the name either, all I know is that it was theme associated with the companies entrance and it fits that picture to epic proportions ! :)
the beginning of this track is very similar to Trinity backflipping off the motorcycle at the end of Reloaded
I think it's rather Matrix Reloaded that has a similar sound to this one ;)
Carina
BRIGÁD - SO SICK!!!!! (PRODUCED BY SNOWGOONS)!
Hicks are heart breaking in the moment of Ripley fall. ( check Aliens colonial marines hicks)
Meilleure film cience fixions
Hicks and Newt should’ve been in this movie!!!
Is this the flash end credits? Am I in the wrong place?
The dragon
Newt, Bishop, Hicks
rejected
Why does this sound like the Matrix??
No offense but Elliot Goldenthal recycled & modified this theme twice for Batman Forever (1995) & Final Fantasy The Spirits Within (2001).
This should have been the end credits of earth war! not some backwater planet with a prison... the alien comic universe is way better!
Good soundtrack for a really bad movie.
Its not bad maybe not good like 1 and 2 but still good movie and alot better than shitty resurrection
Alien3 is a masterpiece. Did you even watch the film?
*****
Resurrection at least has some entertainment value from how incredibly stupid it is. Alien 3 is bland and boring.
wuushew
If you think Alien 3 is a masterpiece, you must be from an alternate reality where they decided to make William Gibson's version of Alien 3 instead.

The only plot hole i see is egg on Sulaco and about others well Alien 3 is dark and depresing i can understand why people like Hicks because i like him too but really you like Newt its the most anoying thing in Aliens especially when she screams Ripleyyyyyyy and AAAAAAAAA about Ripley fear who said that story must be end with good happy ending so we have dirty prision with bugs criminals both characters with Aliens dead well three because Bishop is damaged all of this makes dark depresing atmosphere i cant agree with you that Alien 3 is shit i can agree we cant feel sympathy to prisoners but maybe that was point and target its not soo good like Alien and Aliens but still good(especially with this all behind the scenes shit during making movie David Fincher make Alien 3 the best it could be) movie especially if we compare it to Alien Resurrection which is more parody of aliens than aliens movie(also Alien Resurrection have more story holes like make Ripley clone with her blood with Alien queen which is impossible because chestbuster its external organism not coded in DNA) and boring and stupid prequel Prometheus
Different. Dark. Gore. I love alien 3.
