I love this movie. It's aliens are a little wonky (they are all hybrids, after all) and the newborn is nightmarish (it really hit me when the captions quote it as screaming "oh no!"), it had a grungy feel that was somehow slick and the score was reminiscent of a classic science fiction B movie. It was a good stand alone movie as it has no original characters (a clone Ripley doesn't count) and because of that it feels all the lonelier. Plus, you can never to wrong with a Ron Perlman movie.
My favorite film in the franchise. By far. It was the first one I ever saw. It made me a huge fan when I was 7 years old. I had already became a fan of horror - Halloween is my all time franchise closely followed by Alien. Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver are my all time favorite actors/actresses. Back to the Resurrection - It resembled the original the most of them all. It has it's flaws but it was creepy, scary and the soundtrack along with the practical effects made the film that stands ahead of it's time. I like Alien 3 aswell but just like Sigourney herself I hate the fact that she died in Alien 3. It didn't make sense to me. She tried to save the humanity but the xenomorphs for sure were already spread in to the space before she sacrificed herself. Ripley became a true warrior in Resurrection. She has part of the creature in her and she has heightened senses and strength. But it was also more emotional for her. Sigourney herself for long have said that Resurrection is the most personal for her in so many ways. I get what she means. Not only because of her enormous 11 million paycheck but because her redemption. I would have switched some parts of the story to more dark, eerier sequences. Like for instance I would have preferred Christies and Gediman's deaths in a truly dark, isolated rooms. I would have also brought Hicks and Newt back in the last sequence. I wouldn't have cared whatever was the way they would have being added to the story. Would have felt more complete. Imagine that when they were reaching the surface of Earth and the last seconds would have had a final moment with Ripley and Newt.
I wish Ripley, Hicks, Bishop, and Newt were all main characters in Alien 3. The trailer said On Earth, everyone can hear you scream. They should’ve had them try to prevent an outbreak on Earth
I must admit, I did like Alien resurrection, while it was not as amazing as Alien and Aliens it had it was still a good watch. And although Alien 3 was probably the worst when you hear about the stuff they had going on during the filming it makes you appreciate what they could accomplish...can't wait for Prometheus!
I agree. I don't get why Alien Resurrection cops so much hate. Along with Event Horizon, Soldier, Pandorum and other science fiction movies which are typically panned, I quite like it. However, Aliens will always be my favourite. Cameron really brought good atmosphere with his subtle character design. For example, the suits with altered collars on Gateway Station (as to be expected, similar to the way suits evolved from 1900 to now). Everything looks very lived in and real to me.
So who has ever watched the Aliens series in the dark with no lights on what so ever and was able to get through it with out looking all around the room??
He can't shake it off. The Alien is dead. His claw is locked on dead. It's hard to get something out of one's fist that he tried to clench as he got murdered. It's in the Hollywood physiology handbook.
awesome music: dark, profound, dangerous. the movie is not that bad either. i like the main idea... it´s the logical extraploration of the alien story: what would mankind do with such a perfect alien race? they´d experiment around: try to tame them, try to create hybrids. imagine the technology & biology some hundreds of years from now, and how easy it would be to escape any existing law (altering human dna; using humans as hosts for aliens, etc) in outer space who are the true villains here?
To be completely frank, Resurrection is better then 3. Call me stupid, but I think that the atmosphere of Resurrection was amazing and reminded you of the first film. Alien and Aliens are still miles ahead, but are followed by Resurrection.
Honestly, I don't understand why people hate this movie. Out of all the sequels, it captures the feeling of Alien 1 the best, despite having multiple aliens. Alien 2 cheapens the danger by having thousands of aliens getting gunned down, Alien 3 ruins the ending of 2 and the danger by that one single alien is unbelievable after 2, but Alien 4 is a great sequel to 1. Alien 4 has multiple aliens, but it also has the horror element of 1.
From my perspective, as Ripley was resurrected she became intrigued by the anatomy of the Alien, trying to figure out what she really is. If you thought that scene is justified, the second tongue sequence would then look natural as well.
@admiralxgmx You can say whatever You want - that movie is just great. Maybe not as perfect as the first two parts, but yet MUCH better, than 95% of other sci-fi movies. Personally, i just loved it.
alien 4 is not a bad movie people is not close to the awsomness of the first 2 but is a entertaining movie and with a great ambientation, i dont understand why is so popular hate everithing this days
@wbtarkus It was a nice and surprising homage to the original "Poseidon Adventure", but instead of an old lady drowning at the end of it, a bunch of facehuggers attacked them.
The theme is great, as is the movie. Never understood all the hatred towards it, but maybe that's because I started out seeing Resurrection before all the other films. It's obviously a lot better than the AVP series, and I personally liked it more than Alien 3. The Dog Alien was badass, but Resurrection seemed more interesting to me, I guess. Plus, I loved the creature effects in this one - but they're all great. Definitely my favorite movie series of all time.
@isurugi Seriously, when they showed the two guys they picked to direct AVPR, and they introduced them by advertising their experience making "music videos", I knew immediately Fox was kicking the Alien franchise into the B movie dumpster. Thankfully Ridley Scott is back at the helm. Then perhaps we can all forget that they even made AVPR.
@erentheca And Ridley Scott is doing a good job by doing a "Indirect Prequel" which'll show more of the space jockey and a different form of Xenomorph.
Awesome track. I think the fourth movie in the series has the best soundtrack of all. :) Awesome! The movie is not that good but good enough. How can you not love this music...? Ripley's Theme is better though. Yup! they should make one finale movie with Sigourney Weaver before it's too late. This movie is definitely not a masterpiece but it's still okay and better than Alien 3 I think despite it's lame story. Rich characterization. That you can't say about Prometheus.
@KyleGibbons91 yeah but still i like this movie in it own way i dont know why for me this movie is a really entertaining film and at least is not pg13 and they keep ripley well .... sort of
They should have kept to the story line of the books. Would have introduced new main characters and they could have released so many more films :( **Spoiler** Riply is an Android in the books.
I just watched it and for the love of me I can't remember all of them. Parts like the tongue ripping scene... both of them. Some of the innuendos and whatnot seemed forced.
All 4 Alien soundtracks are amazing, the only thing that every movie got right.
Hopefully Covenant's theme will be just as good as the rest. :)
4? Have you heard the one for Prometheus? Look up the Prometheus track "Life".
Never wrong with that. The movie may be a bit down, but you can always count the soundtrack to keep you distracted with all of its uniqueness.
"Hey, Ripley. I heard you, like, ran into these things before?"
"That's right."
"Wow, man. So, like, what did you do?"
"I died."
My favourite dialogue of the movie!
Such a brilliant piece of music, it is so perfect for the film and has a kinda scary sickly sound to it.
"You can't stop it, Its inevitable,"
i love this one:
"What's burning?"
"us!"
"......Shit you are right, aaaaahhhh!"
I love this movie. This movie was ok to me still enjoyed it like I also enjoyed alien 3 but this movie's ripley was bad
This was the worst one. It’s all about 1-3
The great movie !!
Brilliant score!!!
THE best of all the ALIEN series so far.. so good.
I think this music is so atmospheric and is perfect for the movie in everyway possible !

Oof, that last thing you said... aged poorly... I'm sorry!

This soundtrack is incredible!!!!!!!!
So who has ever watched the Aliens series in the dark with no lights on what so ever and was able to get through it with out looking all around the room??
to me this song is like a wine.. and 97 was a good vintage
The year of Jurassic park 2 also !
definitely , this is a legendary film
I like this, so fantastic !!
alien best horor-sci fi movie for sure
He he, the good times when i first watched the Alien franchise! After seeing Aliens, couldn't get out of the room!
You kidding that baby with the eyes scared me the most looked so disturbing X(
I liked the movie but... That newborn... It scares me every time I look at it.
What's burning?
Its us!!
Oh shit, you're right!
AAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the first movie i have ever seen that starts with a weird bug getting crushed and fired at a window.
Yeah lol
best line on this movie
This movie wasn't bad. It was just very French, and therefore has a sense of humor about the whole thing.
The baby is what the first design of the alien was ment to look like.
He can't shake it off. The Alien is dead. His claw is locked on dead. It's hard to get something out of one's fist that he tried to clench as he got murdered. It's in the Hollywood physiology handbook.
When the soundtruck is better than the movie
Im i the only one here that LOOVE this movie?
awesome music: dark, profound, dangerous.
the movie is not that bad either.

who are the true villains here?
lol i almost thew up when the human alien queen was torn apart if anything can top that up then ill give em 50 bucks
I love that music
I,m the monster,s mother.
This one was my favorite of them all!
@BiggBoss194 I wish i could go back in time to a time when i had not seen this one.
love all alien movies 4 ever

Game over man!!!!!
I'm always humming this tune.
@wbtarkus It was a nice and surprising homage to the original "Poseidon Adventure", but instead of an old lady drowning at the end of it, a bunch of facehuggers attacked them.
Thank you for this sound.., unforgettable !!!
epic, dark, great!
Good spinoff.
no,you are not alone!
People complaining about Alien 4...
... I'm a starship troopers fan like, I had it hard lol
i liked the 3rd one, good concept
The theme is great, as is the movie. Never understood all the hatred towards it, but maybe that's because I started out seeing Resurrection before all the other films. Shit this music scares me because of the aliens and Ripley some one played this song at my work once wearing the Hybrid alien head...
You should write in to the Mythbusters.
The soundtrack was pretty scary ,it feels liked you"re in space.
Maybe if you have the attention span of a squirrel. Alien 3 is second only to Alien.
Never got the hate for this movie or its score. I'm particularly fond of Ripley's theme.
Így van, üdv. :)
Lol, thats very true man!!
its true this theme was better than the whole film :( wish they could do another one , and nail it !!
I wish the movie was as good as this
three ! i'm a big fan too, i recreated all the movie on minecraft !!!
Earth? I'd rather stay here with the things man...
buen tema para la pelicula
@isurugi Seriously, when they showed the two guys they picked to direct AVPR, and they introduced them by advertising their experience making "music videos", I knew immediately Fox was kicking the Alien franchise into the B movie dumpster. at least its way better than the Perdator VS Alien ones!

Most látom ,hogy ezt magyar töltötte föl. Üdv :)
So I guess you wouldn't mind naming a few?
Does that compute?!?
@admiralxgmx so true.
@KyleGibbons91 yeah but still i like this movie in it own way i dont know why for me this movie is a really entertaining film and at least is not pg13 and they keep ripley well .... sort of
Not a bad movie, still 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better then AVP and AVP:R
But this theme song is part of this movie
no :) for me, this movie is fantastic and beautifull.
@ViolaXZ yeah. i dont really like how ripley is sort of insane though
They should have kept to the story line of the books. Would have introduced new main characters and they could have released so many more films :(
**Spoiler** Riply is an Android in the books.
really? is there a video about it?
@admiralxgmx
Song is good like the movie you want to said :P
yet nowhere.
Thumbs up if the Nostalgia Critic sent you here!
I liked it but there were some parts which they should of either just cut out or rewrote. Dialog for the sake of dialog gets annoying after a while.
Alien and Predator pushed Thumbs Down
I just watched it and for the love of me I can't remember all of them. Parts like the tongue ripping scene... both of them. Some of the innuendos and whatnot seemed forced.
sexy
you don't like 2 or 3?!
i agree with you Ressurection was soo lame!!!
the only that scared me was the Alien Queen.XD
Great theme. Poor movie.
@KyleGibbons91 yeah but it made it look so cheesy..
Love all the alien movies including AVP 1 & 2 also a big fan of predator to but the xenomorph wins hands down lol
Ressurrection was great, and a fitting final part in the saga, if you ask me.
why did the Christie kil himself the xeno was dead all he had to do was shake his leg :s
Sziasztok :D
...
Best song of all the alien movies cant sy the same thin about this god dam movie
no.
@admiralxgmx Dislike. THE MOVIE WAS EPIC!
Nope :)
The music was the only good thing about this movie. They should have left it a trilogy.
