I’M NOT CUTE I’M A BAD MOFO! - Komedie
As a vet from Desert Storm and lost a leg from a landmine, I appreciate your compassion
Words cannot express the gratitude I have for your service and sacrifice that you made for our country ❤️🇺🇲 Thank you
Sup brother. No injury. But. Sometimes I still taste bidi's in my mouth.... I'm one of those recovery specialists that can't eat pork anymore. From my time on the Highway with Willy P. Hoooah?
I’m with you brother 🫡
@@Skege1000wrong conflict you POS! Desert Storm was in response to Iraq invading Kuwait. The US and Allies did not remove Saddam in the early 90s.
Thank you for you’re services ❤ 🙏
"Each man faces death by himself, alone." One of the heaviest lines in the entire song.
"Body, my holding cell" is pretty dark as well.
To be fair, that was from the movie.
It's from the movie you baphoon
"...every living creature on Earth dies alone."
-Roberta Sparrow
Donnie Darko
My favoriteine from the movie is when the pastor says to the military official. "He's a product of your profession not mine."
When he asks the pastor if there's anything he can do for him.
Sometimes music isn't about the feel goods. Sometimes it's about saying something that needs to be heard.
When my daughter was in middle school, her social studies teacher showed the class this video. When she came home and said they watched a Metallica video, I immediately knew which song. I saw it when it came out and it shook me then. It’s supposed to make you think and feel, so your reaction was spot on. Don’t worry about the baby making noise, worry if the noises stop.
This about all the loss that accompanied support for country
NOW IS TIME FOR "FIRST BLOOD" REACTION @TOOBLUNT
I remember this song being similar to hearing daddy by korn for me because both songs are extremely dark. Abused can come in many forms
Oh god, I think it would have broken me to hear this song at that age!
This is the first song I ever liked, I was 5 when first seen this on MTV. In my teens I decided I want to see the movie Johnny Got His Gun, and waited like 3 weeks to download it from a guy across the Globe. I was changed for good and forever. This is powerful beyond words.
its actually about a soldier who lost basically all 5 of his senses, his mind left adrift. based on the book later turned movie in 1970 johnny got his gun
To add to this Metallica ended up buying the rights to the movie cause it was cheaper than constantly paying royalties to use clips from the film in their videos and concerts.
Oh it's so much worse than that. The doctors didn't know he was still cognizant and were doing experiments. Then at some point, they realized - a nurse figured it out I think - he was aware of everything and they tried to hide it. I gotta see the movie now.
They did a movie called Trumbo about the Author.. Brian Cranston played Dalton Trumbo
i do not even wanna imagine how that is like
Read that book in high school
Your reaction is just as Metallica intended. Listen to the beautiful musicality and the amazing riffs but also be proud that you can feel the pain and the agony in these lyrics. It means you’re human. It means you have empathy.
It’s a great work of art. That’s why it’s so tough to listen to.
This has to be one of the most genuine reactions for this song
:) thank you for the comment. Happy you enjoyed the video. Lol sometime I feel like I talk too much but I can’t help it
@@TooBlunt you shared your thoughts, that’s more valuable than watching other people head banging and not knowing what the song is about! Greetings from Colombia😁
Colombia ?! My best friend just moved there for a few months. He’s really enjoying the place. Lol luckily he learned a lot of Spanish growing up in Miami. Hope all is well on your end pal
@@TooBluntyour reaction was deep my dad lost his foot in a car accident he wasn’t a veteran but he has the same trauma as veterans. Respect 🫡
After listening to the song for decades, I still feel the way you do every time. It's heart wrenching.
It’s downright depressing because it’s so real and every day, it’s someone’s truth 🤌
best reaction I've seen for this song. you literally got it and the story. it's all so😢
Every time I hear this song I fight back tears.
This song makes you think about life and is absolutely beautiful. I'm a medically retired US. ARMY Veteran and this song has helped me so much in my life. One of the best of all time. METALLICA 4 LIFE
Love your avatar/profile picture bro! I can't tell you what I wanted mine to be, but it would've invited an unwelcome knock on my door.
@@carybishop 🤘
This was a genuine reaction Bro. Let the Baby sound off it's fine.
As a vet. I listen to this song a lot. It is hard to explain the feelings I get when listening to it. When the jam section kicks in it gets me amped up. Good or bad the feelings it gives let me know I am alive.
Must have heard this song 1000 times and it still makes me feel like its the first time
This song is meant to bring awareness to the true cost of war! Seems it still does even after all these years! Nice reaction, exactly how a normal compassionate person should react!
This is the best reaction to this song I've seen because you did understand it and didnt just listen to the music. Its an amazing song which should leave you left like you were at the end. Deep meaning!
read this book "johnny got his gun" 40 years ago in HS...stayed with me, and this video makes it perfect!
My dad went to Vietnam at 19 and spent three years there. I can not imagine what it was like, and the few stories we heard were horrible. Then he tells us how, after landing back home, people were waiting at the airport to spit on the soldiers and throw things at them. I do not understand why? God bless America and especially our veterans. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🤍
My dad also went to Vietnam AND Desert Storm...the military unit he was in showed this to them before they left to go...he said it was very thought provoking and terrifying.seriously happens in war,its a real possibility and an actual reality for some...this song was made to bring awareness to people about how brutal war is....and I'd say it does that in spades.✌
My dad was in Vietnam he rarely speaks of it all he had to say was this country full of ingrants.
My grandpa wasn't sent to war in Vietnam but he was trained to be a medic and he instead was lucky enough to be sent to a kids hospital in Germany instead of being sent to Vietnam but I think cause he was chosen from the lottery at almost the end of that war so grandpa got lucky but I couldn't image what would have happened if he did get sent to Vietnam he probably wouldn't be the same as he is now. It would make me sad to see that and have him not be who he is today. Cause I learned that the Vietnam War was one of the top most mentally scared wars we ever had. It's horrible what all happened there I always try to thank any soldier for their service even if they were sent there and it was not good foe them. Cause they deserve all the good things in life to happen to them especially what they tried to do no soldier should be made fun of or disrespected
It's ridiculous how these men and women are treated. My childhood was definitely different because mental health wasn't discussed, and we kids paid the price watching the struggle. My nephew went to Afghanistan, and he hasn't been the same since. They go to war and fight to survive, then come home and do the same. God bless all the veterans. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🤍
@@Forfarmsake exactly it is ridiculous
I still adore this song, but I was a teen metalhead and hadn't taught myself empathy yet, just thought it was a cool horror story with a great riff; I promise I feel as you do now; there's a lot of stuff that I find hard to listen to as I get older. You're doing a great job with intelligent, empathetic reviews. I hope you enjoy the suggestions I'll send your way.
One of the best reactions to this song. It's supposed to make you feel the way you did. It's based off a book called, Johnny got his gun. Basically an anti war book about a soldier in ww1 that lost all everything in war, his arms legs, eyes, etc. Great reaction my dude. You got a new subscriber
Thank you so much for having such emotional maturity when reacting to this song. Your kindness towards veterans is heartwarming. I’m glad your friend is okay and got back to you. This song along with others from Metallica are meant to both let you rock but also make you think, which happens a lot in rock music, about pressing issue. The case here being the treatment of combat veterans. This song and the clips being used are from Johnny Got His Gun which is a book that was made into a movie. It’s free to watch since Metallica bought the rights to it. Highly recommend checking it out. Very thought provoking piece of media.
Thank you for the kind comment :) and I will definitely check that out
Just medically “retired” (PTSD) after almost two decades as a medic …. and Fade to Black … your reactions make me feel less broken and alone …
Art should comfort the disturbed, and disturb the comfortable!!!
Blessings ❤
My absolute favorite thing about watching people’s reactions to metal is the fact that once I see the small little headbang I know they really into the song 🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏
Hands down my favorite song by Metallica. I heard it two years after it came out and it's the song that turned me on to metal. Before hearing this song, it was just country. This song broadened my horizons and now I listen to ALL genres.
This is why metal fans love it so much . Its so much more than fast guitar drums and screaming . Their is a method behind the madness . I love when some one who isnt familiar with this style sees a song like this that resonates with them . Thank you for watching and reacting . This one IS a rough one to get through . But listen a few more times and you will see how masterfully crafted this song is with the theme . Like the machine gun double bass drum and just the fluidity of the whole song structure from beginning to end .
This has always been a song I loved and hated equally. The music is beautiful and haunting. Then you get to the end, and just damn. It hurts. Always make me want to cry.
My favourite Metallica song!
still one of my favorites never gets old
This was probably the most appropriate reaction to this song
“Art is a lie that makes us realize truth.” - Pablo Picasso.
This song is musically fantastic and lyrically an absolute gut punch. The way it shifts from a slow, melancholy beginning to and outright angry, resentful ending is brilliant
You pay attention where most others don't. I appreciate that.
My high school history teacher was a WW2 vet, and showed us Johnny Got His Gun to us back in 86 or 87. I've seen this video many times over the past 30+ years along with Johnny, but watching it now thru your eyes plus the decades of useless conflict brings a new perspective. This really kicks ya in the guts
I was 10 years old when I first watched this video. That was when I learned that there are fates worse than death.
Watching the video is definitely more depressing than just listening to the song by itself. Great reaction 👍🏼
This song always touches me. It's just very savage. I'm glad your friend is alright.
This song always gets some tears flowing... Metallica rules...🤘🤘
very thoughtful and awesome reaction.
Thank you for actually listening. Pisses me off when people react to this thinking it's a jam to groove out to and completely miss the meaning of the song. You arnt supposed to enjoy this, it's meant to disturb you and bring up the exact issue you mentioned. The instrumentals of the song reflect the feelings of what the person is going through. The sadness, confusion, fear, anxiety, desperation and sudden end. Most people don't recognize that, they just think it's noise and riffs but it's actually telling you a story.
I have wasted hours upon hours of my life watching reaction videos. Simply put, you are my favorite. You are a great guy.
Pop music would have you believe that the worst thing that can happen to you is losing your girl. Metal says otherwise…
Dude, your reaction made ME cry. Your story made it more. Thanks you for sharing
:) thank you for the comment pal. I’m happy you enjoyed the video ❤️❤️
I remember when this song came out I could not get enough of it! It’s an absolute jam but man does it talk about some real SHXT!
A true reaction to this video. I`m a disabled Vet myself and this is hard. Not sure if you could handle another one like this but the song "Wrong Side Of Heaven" by Five Finger Death Punch makes me cry every time I hear it or watch the video. But Please give it a watch and reaction. And for pure Metal mayhem you need to watch some Pantera. Cemetary Gates is a good starter song from them. Then songs like "Walk" then onto pure insanity of "Domination" Live in Moscow . Much appreciated
Great reaction. One of the few videos - especially metal ones - where the video makes the song is 10x better. I'll never tire of "One". I don't listen to it all that often anymore, but, every time I do, I remember how banging is it.
Great reaction. Very genuine! All the best to you, and to the godfather of your kiddie 🙏
I like how he just got straight into it with any introduction lol. A breath of fresh air from today’s over the top reaction channels
Great reaction my man! Respect for all the kind words and appreciation you highlighted for veterans and all that are serving for our Freedom dude! 🫶🤘
I'll never forget when this video was released. I was a Sophomore in HS, had just gotten into them about a year earlier when I heard Master of Puppets at the local teen center. No internet back then - I had no idea what these guys looked like or how they'd look on stage etc. Mtv was announcing the "WORLD PREMIERE" of this video at 3PM on a school day. I raced home on my bike as fast as I could pedal so I could see my new favorite band finally. I was so excited - like geek in a Best Buy clearance sale. Ran in out of breath bare minutes to spare turned on the TV, and video came on as my star-struck eyes were ready to watch.
30 seconds in, my mouth was slack jawed, and my mouth went dry, a minute in i've got tears in my eyes, by the time the song and video was over I was just stunned silent unsure how I should be feeling. I was just horrified and numb but amazed too at the sound.
At a time when Mtv was colorful, and fun, and partying all time with big bombastic fun stuff - then to see this I was not prepared. It was truly profound and left a lasting impression on my brain. I had to wait 4 more years before I ever got to see them live though, and since then I've seen them over 30 times live. Simply amazing.
It was really interesting to hear how you said "what am I supposed to do, enjoy this?" its a funny question for sure. I'm a huge metal enjoyer and many metal songs go hard asf but also talk about EXTREMELY heavy issues, it seems to be a very common theme in metal. imo, its acceptable to jam out to these songs and feel whatever you want to/need to feel. some sit in silence and others bang their heads. i find myself doing both at times. but always so interesting to hear the push of the music with the pull of the meaning. while both sides can be complete opposites, they both share the feeling of power and importance. whether you like it or not, its in your face. glad to see you enjoyed, i hope to see more metal reactions on the channel
You’re 100% right. The contrast is what got me in the moment and it was directly related to something I was feeling. I’ll take another listen again and again. The song is definitely great
@TooBlunt the only response I have to this song is jamming out thrashing angrily with tears rolling down my cheeks. It's my emotional release song.
This is THE reaction to this song. Yes it’s all musically, technically astonishing, but it’s the vehicle for the message. That’s what makes it incredible.
I dipped my finger into the Metallica world back in 2019 and it was ok and new to me didn’t listen to them ever again after that . But now in 2023 I’ve really and fully got into them now and somehow “One” ended up being my favorite song from them. Also Can you react to “Another day in paradise” by Phill collins
"now the world is gone, I'm just one" Chills every time
You felt it, man. That’s what matters.
As a Combat vet I thank you. But this song makes a vet realize that it could be worse. God bless bro
First genuine Reaction to this Song! Respect Bro
"each man face his death by himself.. alone. Goodbye father" this bar bring me to tear each time 😕 one of the emotional music video of the internet 👌 tx for the react from Québec Canada 🇲🇶🇨🇦
IS1 Christianson, you will never be forgotten. I live the life you gave back to me, Thank You.
The lyrics and video clips are telling the story, And the thoughts, And feelings of the soldier.
The drums are gun fire, And bombs going off.
The guitars are the chaos, And escalation of the war battle.
Been listening to old school Metallica since the 80's.
OMG I was just thinking today that I needed to check and see if you and any other videos ready to watch!! So glad I checked. Hope your family is doing well, and your littlest one is growing like a weed!!!!
As for this reaction. God bless you for having such compassion for our military. My dad was killed in Vietnam, (Capt. Steven Bennett, posthumous MOH) when he was 26 (I was 2 1/2 years). There are so many times I reflect back on how my life would have been so different had he lived, but then that would mean that he lived and would have possibly suffered long-lasting trauma from his time in service. So, I'm almost "glad" he didn't survive. I do hope anyone reading this understands what I mean. Of course I wish he would have survived, but knowing the potential pain he may have had to live with...I feel selfish wishing he lived. Everything happens for a reason... perhaps the pain he would have had to carry would have been too great for him?
Regardless, he is my hero. All military men and women are heroes to me. Every single day...not just designated days.
God Bless our military and all they do. God Bless your children's Godfather. I'm glad he was safe, and just happened to be out of pocket for a while.
I'm glad to see you back!
Metal is not to be enjoyable and fun. One is pure art.
It's why it's called One. As in one in a million chance to get an injury that takes all senses.
This song has a deep meaning but musically it's a masterpiece so you can definitely enjoy listening to it.
Sometimes music is not about just... Music. Bless you for appreciating! Gen x here when this came out. Happy the youth can appreciate social issues thru music.
The one thing i learned about this song is when the intensity of the drums kicks up it’s supposed to replicate the morse code of “kill me” that the man in the movie “johnny got his gun” was trying to communicate to the staff about. Metallica were ahead of their time
Many of us wish to be back in the light…enjoy when the baby cries. Hang in there brothers
The nation which forgets its defenders will itself be forgotten.
Came for Metallica and stayed for the commentary. You are a smart and extremely emotionally intelligent person.
When I was younger I loved Metallica cause the songs were true bangers only at 42 have I truly began to dissect the meaning behind the lyrics such a powerful band
Metallica hits the heart strings hard bro. My favorite band glad you felt their power
The musicianship in this video is insane.
This is the song that made Metallica a Icon band... This song also won a Grammy I believe....
Great reaction. One of the more genuine ive ever seen
Your reactions are fantastic. Purely honest
I see the song as a tribute to those guys, that's how I can listen to it.
Love your reactions, subbed.
You're reaction is genuine. Unlike others who fakes it for clicks. You've earned my subscription my friend. 🤙🤙🤙
Rock on, brother 🤘🤘🤘
I agree with you that it’s hard to watch and not to be conflicted by emotions. It is a lot to digest and I think it becomes easier to grasp and appreciate by watching and listening to this a few times. This is a masterpiece by Metallica. Great review and reflection.
Metal often deals with heavier lyrics that others won't touch. Gojira is my favorite as of right now. They write about the environment and such. Great reaction. Subbed.
As someone who loves songs with great lyrics, but has never heard gojira before, which gojira songs would you recommend to start out with?
@@Zerio Silvera. Though not one of my favorites musically (still pretty awesome) the message is powerfull.
Totally appreciate your reaction. Ive listened to and seen this video for 35ys. Its difficult. But you got it.
This is my favorite Metallica song but it is hard to watch the video. Great reaction!
The video adds alot of extras to the song, love the reactions
the war is not over. It still rages in my head.
When this song came out I was stationed in Germany (Cold War era) It was and still is a powerful heady piece, and I knew the store it was based on. I was grateful that my wife who was still state-side was unlikely to see the video or hear the song as metal is not a genre that she listens to often, one less thing for her to worry about.
Prayers for your friend! I’ve had friends/family in the military. I feel what you’re feeling. Much love!
Fantastic review, really good deep dive.
This is my favorite Metallica song and probably in my top 5. Metallica was all about the seriousness of the lyrics in the first 5 albums. Glad you heard from your friend
This is the best reaction I have ever seen. I subbed
This song was my first experience with Metallica when I saw this video on Headbanger's Ball as a teenager. Few songs have ever impacted me as much. The definition of Living Hell 😔
I have been a life long fan since \m/
Awesome, thoughtful reaction.
Thanks man!
Happy you enjoyed James! Thanks for leaving a comment
Amen brother yours I think is the single greatest reaction to this song. You're a good human
Im so glad your people are ok ! They will be in my prayers brother . No lie .
I know this song is meant to describe what happens during and after the war but to me I can relate it to my severe depression that seems never ending. That’s what’s beautiful and powerful about music it is open to interpretation to the listener. Btw great reaction, got straight into it, wasted no time! you got a new sub ❤️
Fantastic reaction!!
This song is a metaphor for my entire life.
Proper, genuine reaction.
I just simply love the way the song executes the exact moment when the soldier grasps the severity of his situation: the dreamlike sequence fades, and in comes the short rapid drums, boiling up as he comes to full realisation, anger, panic, frustration. Deeply disturbing, masterfully done.
Great reaction!!!
You experienced exactly what Metallica was wanting you to feel
Looks like a new place since I saw ya last. Good job brother
