    Mounting a projector to the ceiling is easy with Vivo universal projector mounts. The VP01 is a surface mount and the VP02 is a ceiling mount with an extension arm. Both are very similar. On the VP02 the extension arm is 15 inches long and can expand to 23 inches and you can lock it anywhere in between with a screw. And it has a low profile mounting plate. All the hardware and screws needed are included to securely mount a projector to the ceiling.
    In both models, the actual projector bracket is the same design with 4 adjustable mounting arms. There’s 4 bolts on top to help you lock in the arms in different positions depending on the size of your projector. The arms can swing around and be moved in almost any position with a maximum diagonal distance of 12.5 inches between screw holes on the bottom of the projector. The bracket also has hooks on top for easy mounting.
    Mounting a projector with either version is the same. After you’ve figured out where you’re going to mount your projector mark the screw holes on the ceiling. And then a ¾ inch drill bit is needed for the wall anchors if you’re installing the mount without a stud behind it. You can then tap the included wall anchors in place. The main bracket is then installed using the large included screws along with a washer. With the wall anchors in place it’s really easy to secure the bracket onto the ceiling. And once it’s tight, the projector can be hung onto the lower screws. The hooks on the projector bracket hold the projector up so you can put in the other screws.
    One thing to note is that I started with the VP01 mount but later found that it put my projector too close to the ceiling and I couldn’t get edges of the projected image lined up with my screen even with the projector’s keystone adjustment. So I switched to the VP02 mount with the extension arm. For me the VP02 gave me better image alignment on the screen because I didn’t have to tilt the projector down as much. Wires can also be run through the extension arm for cable management.
    I’m also using a 50 foot HDMI cable from Blue Rigger because I didn’t want to risk running short depending on where I’m going to be placing my video components. Also this HDMI cable from Blue Rigger is CL3 certified for in-wall use which is perfect for me because I’ll be running this through the attic. And if you’re wondering if a 50 foot HDMI cable is too long, I don’t see any issues when it comes to the image quality. But I probably wouldn’t go any longer.
    I’m actually really happy about the Vivo projector mounts because they’re both under $20 and can hold up to 30 pounds. And here’s a few more things you should know about the Vivo mounts. If you have a really small projector, you can completely take off all the arms and use the swirly looking openings on the projector bracket for mounting.
    Also if you buy the VS02, you can’t use it without the extension arm. The end brackets won’t fit together without the arm. Last thing I want to mention is that these mounts also come in black in case you have a dark ceiling. So if you’re building a home theater or need a projector setup in a conference room the Vivo projector mounts will definitely work well.

    The instructions say not to use without a stud. The wall anchors supplied are for brick or concrete.

      Thanks for pointing that out! I’m one of those guys that almost never reads the instructions. However I still have my ceiling mount attached with wall anchors. I’m not too worried since the projectors I’m using aren’t too heavy. Thanks for watching!

    Weird question. I rent and landlord won’t let me drill in the ceiling. Do you think it could be possible to mount this upside down so it would sit on a table? is it easy to loads, tighten the tilt appropriately as so it does not tilt or drop unexpectedly?

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Yes! You can definitely attach the projector mount to a table. It will work. Most projectors have the ability to flip the image so it’s no problem. I also have a 2nd projector mount (without an arm) that I’ve attached to a tripod and is similar to what you want to accomplish with a table. But make sure all the screws are tight so it won’t accidentally move from the weight of the projector. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

    As a wannabe artist, Id like to aim a projector at 3 locations from one spot. Onto the wall, the floor and a 45 degree angle onto a drafting table. Any idea's? Or would most use this support?

    So the mount didn't fit the projector? So use only 2 mounting holes instead of 4?

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  Před rokem

      Yes! On this projector I only used 2 of the mounting holes. The mounting holes were too close together on this model. I probably should’ve demonstrated on a different projector. But this is to show an alternate way to attach the projector mount. Also these budget projectors are really light weigh so there’s no problem for me using only 2 screws. Hope this helps!

    2:00 It sounds like you're using the anchors in just drywall. Per instructions those are for concrete wall mounting. Just curious has your projector fallen yet because I do not see how those would hold up a projector in just drywall over the years.

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  Před rokem

      I currently don’t have a projector attached to this ceiling mount. But the ceiling mount is still on the ceiling. But the projector you saw in my video is very light weight. So the way I have it mounted is ok. But yes if I had a heavy projector I would definitely screw it into a joist. Thanks for watching!

    so to be sure, you said in your video that you mounted the projector without studs directly into the drywall and you haven't had any issues with that since?

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  Před 4 lety +5

      Yes! I installed the projector mount into the drywall without going into the stud. But keep in mind that you will have to use the wall anchors to secure the screws into the drywall. You can’t mount this into the drywall only. Budget projectors are pretty light so the wall anchors will hold without a problem. The mounting kit includes plastic wall anchors and the installation feels solid. Hope this helps!

    Can you angle the mount so that the projector is facing/projecting on the ground?

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes! I believe that you can swing the mount so you can project onto the ground. The arm has a joint at the ceiling and there’s also a joint where the arm connects to the projector. I think as long as the projector isn’t too heavy you can tighten the screws enough on the ceiling joint to hold the projector so it points to the ground. Hope this helps!

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  Před 3 lety

      Actually I’m not sure how to tell if there’s wiring in the ceiling when I’m drilling. I suppose you could insert your drill bit into the drill as far as possible and then drill slowly. The drywall should only be 1/2” thick so just drill in slowly until you get through. The Vivo mount can support up to 30 pounds. The Epson 2250 is about 11 pounds so you should be ok. Hope this helps!

    I don't think does brocket can survive dynamic forces

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  Před 3 lety

      During an earthquake I’d say yes you can’t really expect this mount to 100% hold up to shaking. Especially since there’s weight at the end creating leverage for it to pull on the mount. The whole thing is more likely to rip out of the ceiling than the projector disconnecting from the mount. It the mount is screwed into a hoist then maybe it can withstand an earthquake better. Thanks for watching!
