"Evolution of Goddess" by Emma Mildon - BOOK REVIEW | The Goddess Discourse

- Here goes, Goddesses! This is my suuuper close look at Emma Mildon's book "Evolution of Goddess". I think about whether her theoretical framework holds up, what my issues with the elements are, and some aspects of the Goddess discourse at large that I have identified.
Also, a surprisingly intense talk about why not to use lists in books (which Emma does a great job of avoiding - she shows & tells rather than listing meaningless words).
It's not a traditional book with regards to the four elements or how to work with them - or even with regards to worshipping deities. But that is one of the strengths of this book - it's creative and inspiring and contains many, many aspects from different traditions. That's why I call it a spiritual roundhouse kick. ;) Chuck Norris style! There's LOTS of details in the video, so I hope you enjoy it!
If you've read this far, let me know whether you have any hot book recommendations for me in the comments!

Thank you for the review! :) Normally I never use CZcams for book recommendations/reviews but I've really enjoy your videos. :)
Thank you, Gitte, that means a lot. ❤ Awesome that you enjoyed it! :)
Thanks for this awesome review! 💜 I’m thinking about ordering this book now 😆
Yay! 🔥 Yeah, the book is nice to refer back to when you want to connect with the elements in a bit of a more unconventional way for sure. :)
Thank you so much for making this review!
Gladly! ❤
I had never heard of this book before but now I think I will check it out. As someone who identifies as a secular witch, I feel like this would be an interesting read.
Yeah, it would probably fit you very well! It does of course speak about Goddesses, but the practices sound like they could be interesting for a secular witch, depending on how advanced you are of course!
Sooo, two things: What do you think of her replacing "fire" with "sun"? I kind of get it, since there aren't "fire goddesses", but a lot of "sun goddesses", but it still sort of doesn't make sense in my mind.
And also, do you have any book recommendations? As I mentioned in the video, I'm still looking for comprehensive books that tell the stories of many different Goddesses from various traditions. Hope you enjoyed the video & I appreciate any thoughts & suggestions you may have. :)
Janet Farrar has a book called the Witches' Goddess. It's on my list to get since it has entries on each of the goddesses throughout history.
Awesome, thank you for the recommendation. Put it on my list!
