If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, unique addition to your plant family, the Ponytail Palm is the way to go! 🌱✨ watering! 💦 Ponytail Palms prefer to be on the drier side. So, make sure to let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. lighting! 🌞 They love bright, indirect light (the plant can see the sun but the sun can’t directly burn the leaves) So, find a spot near a window where they can soak up those rays without getting scorched. They’ll thank you with their lush, green foliage! 🌿 Repotting is a great opportunity to show your Ponytail Palm some extra love. @@PlantswithKrystalI had a similar accident with a Yucca. Stabbed me in the eyeball as I was moving it! 😂 I wear goggles every time now. Love love love your channel. Love from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪
This is perfect timing! I just got a ponytail palm rescue from my Lowe’s! I need to change her out cuz she looking sad! This is what I was going to look up but here you are! Thanks Krystal! ❤
Im a new plant mom/obsessed with houseplants, and i propagated a couple leaves from my pepperomia, and yesterday i needed to change some pits around, and i assumed they were just two little leaves with maybe a small amount of root, and it turned out to have a HUGE root ball!! I couldn't believe ut, i almost cried, and it must if needed the change cause this morning, randomly there literally 7 (SEVEN!!!) new puppies growing up out of the soil!!! I never knew that plants could be so exciting lol
I just got my first ponytail palm today. His name is Arthur. I rescued him. His soil was soaked and he had mold growing on the outside of his pot. I disinfected and repotted him (he was also root bound) here’s hoping he lives. 😁
My friend had a huge ponytail growing in her yard. When Tx froze in 2021 her plant did also, she just left it & little pups starting sprouting off the rot bulb(?) I planted mine & size of a hardball with beautiful prawns!!! Lucky me🌱🌻
Oof, yeah, those goggles are definitely a must! Potentially cutting your eye is no joke. I cut mine on a plant leaf when I was nine or so running through a cornfield. I couldn't open my eye for about 2 weeks, there was so much pain.
A magnificent plant, very beautiful and healthy looking. I have had one Ponytail Palm for about 8 years that was cropped and is doing well, but I just started two seedlings that will not be cropped. I prefer the aesthetic of uncropped ponytail palms. Thanks for the video.
Bahahaha I knew exactly why the glasses were necessary. My hubs managed to get a spike from a different type of palm RIGHT up his nose once! He swears he felt it touch his brain 😂😂😂
I absolutly looooove my ponytail palms i own 2 potted pony tails and they sit on my porch in full afternoon sun they are thriving and take neglect really well 😂 its hot in texas but ive not had any issues growing them in northern texas too
I so enjoy your videos! They make me happy. I have a question do you make your succulent potting soil or do you buy it? Where’s the best place to buy it that it’s not gonna cost an arm and a leg?
Sometimes I feel like she has a warehouse full of pots waiting for their turn to host a plant lol she is holding a big pot and often says oh i need a bigger pot and 3 secs later she has a huge one pot next to her...
Oh my! I have one that’s smaller. I actually took a piece off for my mom and it will not root for anything in water. I even added a pothos vine to see if that would help. Ugh it’s still alive but no rooting 🤔 also I guess I didn’t realize it would get this big lol 😅
Y'all remember that everything is cake thing? That's how I feel with succulents. Snake plants, fine. But this?! Wouldn't be surprised to learn I'm a succulent at this point

@@des_18it was from a plant store in Indianapolis
@@PlantswithKrystal do you have a video of how you make your soil mixture?
I’m getting ready to repot a cactus 🌵and don’t want to mess it up
@@PlantswithKrystalwhich one I’m not far from there ? Also I have a plant that I don’t know what it is can you help?
Cactus/succulent soil is So expensive. I got a bag, and its tiny too. 😢 I sad face
“I’ve grown this from seed” I believed it for a second and my mouth dropped so big
🫣😂😂😂
I audibly gasped before they said "just kidding" 😂
Are they hard to grow from seed or something?
@@itzhippo2072 at least I've found growing something that big from seed in my flat in the UK to be hard + it would take a long time!!!!
I named my ponytail palm Patrisha. Just so I can say “love the hair Trish” everyday.
That's amazing Lol!! I need one now, maybe I'll name it Barbara?
I name all of mine Phyllis! 😂
love it! mine is named Tina
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂 luv that
Realising the pot was too small was such a relatable moment lmao
Happens way too often 😂
Fun fact, in German this plant is called "Elefantenfuß" which translates to "elephant's foot" 🐘
Makes total sense! I love that!
Yes. I have this to bot small.❤❤
Deutsch hat immer tolle Umschreibungen auf Lager 🌴
In spanish its also called Pie de elefante
Also how we call it in French :) pied d'éléphant
The too small pot being tossed to the back off screen sent me lmao
"the pot is too small" 😂
Story of my life when repotting! 😂
I never would have guessed the leaves are so sharp! Let’s protect those eyelids 😅
Yes! So sharp. It’s a gnarly paper cut!

It’s the combination of “gosh” and “drown that hoe” that get me every time
I have teeny tiny ponytail palm about the size of my hand 😊 I'm hoping eventually it will grow as big as yours! It looks amazing
That is so exciting!!!!!!!
It definitely will! I have had mine for 15 years and I get so many compliments.
Love your videos, now running to get one 😂❤
You lifted it 😳🔥🔥🔥
It really looks gorgeous in that new pot ❤
Well, that is understandable. Your eyelid probably still remembers that pain.
Your core is stroooong girl you lift ❤
“Gosh Damn It!” HAS ME WHEEZING!
Great plant 💚🌵🌿🌱

Love your repot background!
Thank you so much!!!! It’s my favorite part of my home.
It was great that you showed that the original choice pot was too small. It really made the video! Love watching your stuff.
that looks incredible in that grey pot!
I said outloud at the beginning that the pot was gonna be too small and sure enough it was lol the final result looks absolutely amazing!
You have the cutest personality! I love your video.
The whispers of frustration 😂
So thankful for your videos they are the best!
I was recently gifted a Ponytail palm, I’m excited to watch it grow.

They are also safe for cats! One of the top things I look for in my houseplants. (Also uh, being durable enough that they survive the cats.)
I love your content 😁
My father planted one about 16 years ago when my daughter was born, and now it looks like something out of a Dr. Seuss book! Lol
Well turns out my thick huge glasses had a hidden superpower. . .now I gotta get a ponytail palm.
That is a big ponytail palm😮❤❤

What a struggle 😅
good job !
Wow! He's a big one!
Lmao if you'd saw my face when u said from seed! 🤣🤣🤣

Can a ponytail regrow leaves if the top was chopped off?
I gave myself a splinter from my little ponytail palm.
Does the trunk continue to grow if they have that black wax like stuff on the top?
Well done! "Gosh dammit!" ... sounds like me

I won’t that plant beautiful
"gosh dammit" 😂
damm, a palm cutting my eyelid is nightmare fuel.
i can just imagine you having a plethora of planters in your storage😂
She’s a beaut, gotta care video on her?
I would love one but I'm still traumatized from last time when it got eaten up by woolly lice.
Out of breath “I’ll water it thoroughly aka drown the ho” 😂😂 can’t not say that line so funny
