Lyrics:
And you said
It was like fire around the brim
Burning solid
Burning thin the burning rim
Like stars burning holes right through the dark
Flicking fire like saltwater into my eyes
You were one inch from the edge of this bed
I dragged you back a sleepyhead, sleepyhead - Hudba
I've been looking for this song since i was 13 and now i found it after 8 years.
I miss this band so much. I hope Michael is doing well, the music industry needs people like him who talk about the realities of life.
wassup, my nigga
@@kool-aidan bruh you already know!
Amen.
They were the soundtrack of my life for at least 2 years. Michael Angelokos (sp) and friends.
Sounds like he just needed to take a walk. ;)
After I passed my final test during college I hopped in my car to go home and this song started playing. Hearing those first few guitar notes will always resonate with me and remind me of all the good times I had during college and the satisfaction in knowing that it's finally over. Such a good song.
I can relate 💯💯💯
I've seen this clip a number of times on MTV back in 2009 and it stuck in my head, I have been searching for it since that time. It turned into an annual pilgrimage through the web for me, I would sit down once every couple of months and spend the night searching for it on youtube. Today I finally found, I could barely control myself, I have not felt so happy for a long while . . .
madman3332 do you sing he song mad world
congratulations madman. i sometimes look for songs but never find them :(
MTV used to play music?
I'm so happy for you
madman3332 SAME HERE OH MY GOD 😂😂😂
Nostalgia just hit me right in the chest right now.
I was like 16 or 17 the first time I came across this song and life just seemed so calm back then, days felt endless.
Now I am here feeling the weight of the world in my shoulders.
If you’re listening to this is 2020, you’re one of the coolest persons out there... just so you know
edit: if you’re here after 2020, yes, you’re still cool, very cool
me rn
im not cool :(
Thx friend lmao
i'll never stop listening to this album
got the song from east coast tour mgp
I'm crying so much because I've just discovered Passion Pit. The music evokes so much emotion from me. Emotions that I can't explain. I'm in love with the music.
Most underrated band ever. Especially Mike.
Yeah because amphetamine
@@d2entertainment418 How does this video only have 3.8 M views? I thought this band was quite popular
Thats amazing that younger people are still enjoying it.
By the looks of it; you were probably like 5 years old when I heard this when i was 18. :P
album ruled in real time soooooo hard
Miss this band. Every day.😢
I never watched (listened to) this before but it gives me a feeling of nostalgia......
Sad vibe
Makes you feel something you thought was gone
That is, the whole album really
From Passion Pit
to Foster the People...
I guess these are my favorite bands when it comes to relaxation :)
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS
I never heard of foster the people
Two door cinema club, Beacon (entire album is relaxing gold) there older stuff is legendary too, so upbeat
Great bands my friend, there are a lot more you can listen to though (example - of monsters and men)
yaaaaaassssssssss
I FOUND IT. I could genuinely cry. I listened to Running on a Treadmill by Oingo Boingo and the brass parts reminded me of a song I’d heard years ago that I loved… just couldn’t remember what it was. It hurt not to know what it was. I kept holding onto the brass bits in the Oingo Boingo song trying to hear this song in my head. Just now, I thought of a fruit. Something tickled my brain and I felt myself getting closer!! I knew it was similar to the genre of Sweet Disposition by Temper Trap or the vibe of Two Weeks by Grizzly Bear. I thought passion fruit and searched it, knowing I was so very close. I kept scrolling and SOMEHOW Sleepyhead by Passion Pit was there. I knew that wasn’t the song but I kept going. I HAD the artist, I just needed to find the song. I recognized this one and waited so enthusiastically for 2:42 to arrive. Ahhhhh…. bliss.
congrats
Me, I cried out.. "God" you dared me in the dark
I felt a hush fall quietly from my spark
So now I hide in piles of princely orange peels
It feels the way you told me how it'd always feel ~
Underrated song
This is definitely their best song in my opinion. You can't help rocking out every time you hear it.
This is ripe for a high resolution, full quality audio repost. This song deserves more love. I'd love something new from the band too.
Yes!
This song has a really sad feel to it. It reminds of how I feel like I have to grow up but I don't want to. Idk, maybe that's just the state I'm in. Where I literally have an existential crisis everyday :p life sucks...
+̶ ̶C̶r̶o̶s̶s̶m̶y̶h̶e̶a̶r̶t̶ ̶ Everyone feels like this at some point of their lifes. Life itself doesn't have any meaning, just find out the things or the people that you love and make you feel good and stick to them. Even when you are feeling down, you will be able to recover your mood and keep going. In the end, optimism and happiness are the key for living :)
+̶ ̶C̶r̶o̶s̶s̶m̶y̶h̶e̶a̶r̶t̶ ̶ Life can be whatever you make of it. Keep a positive attitude and develop on your passions in life!
I'm feeling the same. Haha
Lol, same.. Except I have to work till I die
man i was going through the same thing as you like 6 years ago. i literally balled my heart to this song and to this album. its okay man. i hope you find a path. As much as life sucks these thoughts and feelings are necessary for your growth. I firmly believe that. You are unique. And some obstacles for certain people are a lot tougher than others.
I love how they can mix the synth and 80's sounds in so well and still manage to sound so damn solid
Nostalgic 😭😭😭
If passion pit dropped today it would have been so much more appreciated. I know that may be a bit of a controversial opinion because today's audience changes their mind in an instant and there's also a lot of competition but passion pit really is special and the early 2000's audience was not the best fit.
Agreed, Passion Pit deserved so much better
I actually think that it's because there was SO much amazing music being released at that time, but also so much of a similar STYLE, like MGMT, Empire of the Sun, The naked and the famous etc, it was easy for Passion Pit's genius to get lost in it all. Agreed that if they came around today they'd blow the fucking roof off the place.
@@jin6000 yeah true
Their bass lines are incredibly simple but give the song so much emotion.
i really dig these guys because the synthesizers are spacey and the guitars are shimmery and lush, but the acoustic drums keep it properly down to earth and accessible, somehow.
Yup, this brings me back to freshman year of college......the good times.
So much emotion..
i forgot how good this song is
Someone was playing this over internet radio. I had never heard it but it immediately grabbed me. I've listened to it over and over. F#@king love it!
That's exactly how i feel lol. Alot of their songs won't sound good, but after a while you really get hooked. This song is so underrated, and in my opinion is definately their best song ever.
One the most underrated songs of all time.
Still listening to this song ❤
*Video starts*
Me: “Im not a perfect person”
reminds me of when I was married to my ex I love this song and her so much miss the good memories of us lying watching the stars on a blanket together
why cant we all just get along? be peaceful an respectful of each other... To me thats what Passion Pit strives for...
Whenever I feel bummed out, passion pit never fails to lift my spirit.
You know, this song always makes me feel good, but for some reason it also makes me feel guilty for all the bad things I've done...Anyone feel the same? wonderfull song/band
Every time I hear this into I wanna sing
“I’m not a perfect person”
What genius. This still gives me chills.
You know what this song sounds like!? ... music o-o
***** Yeah people keep saying "Hay this song sounds like this"
I'm so glad they're good live now.
I really love this song. The way the keyboard sounds is so good; all the instruments complement each other so well. :D I just found this band randomly yesterday and thoroughly enjoy a lot of it. :D
the meaning of this video is awesome
Deep, words and music, what is it that every culture no matter how far removed will always develop music, no matter what. Music is as important to life as breathing and sunshine, without it we'd all fade away. Thanks for keeping me here guys.
“I’M NOT A PERFECT PERSON!”
That's a frosty way to speak,
To tell me how to live next to your potpourri
All this talking pulls my teeth.
I believed in you, so you believed in
Me, I cried out God
You dared me in the dark
I felt a hush fall quietly from my spark
so now I hide in piles of princely orange peels
It feels the way you told me how it'd always feel
Once I had an name to call you.
It scraped along the walls like an orthodox saint.
I wish for the same old things that turn me inside out.
Hearing is a strain, it's a game!
Me, I cried out "God"
You dared me in the dark
I felt a hush fall quietly from my spark
so now I hide in piles of princely orange peels
It feels the way you told me how it'd always feel
Never have I ever been
Clutching at your hair to cure you of some sin,
But that's the kind of state I'm in:
Swimming in a pool of godly medicine.
Come, come, I hear it calling me, yelling,
Like if ever there was someone who could make things heavy again.
Feel alive!
Favorite track from the record. It just hits the sweet spot in my brain cavities
Stoked to see Gossamer scored an 8.4 on Pitchfork. Glad they got this one right!
I miss being able to smoke weed and jamming out to my favorite music. Maybe I'll try it again this weekend.
You know what good music makes you want to do? It makes you selfish and want to hold the song and keep it close and never share it because its so amazing you want it all for yourself. I just want to keep Passion Pit in my own little box among MGMT, The Neighbourhood and Of Monsters and Men
this is literally me
the neighbourhood are amazing I know how you feel
Could not agree more NikkiXxSimmer ....great list of artistes there as well, all of which i listen to.
Tip: Try listening to TheColouristVEVO and Metronomy :)
Daveaune Billy I'll give it a gander :p
And Imagin Dragons ahah, for me it will be the best
Personally one of my favorite songs ever. Every time I hear that opening riff I get chills.
I think Passion Pit has done a great job with their new album Gossamer. The more I listen to it the more I like it
I love this song and I always find myself changing the lyrics to
It feels the way you told me how my love will feel
The synth in this song reminds me quite a bit of that used in many Kraftwerk songs. Their influence is almost inescapable.
Exactly, I listened to "Cry Like a Ghost" and turned it off in the first ten seconds. Then I realized how beautiful that song is. The music is different in Gossamer, but the lyrics still have the "Passion Pit" feel.
I love that Mark Foster appears right next to the video :)
10 hour loop please?!
Why not just install spotify or convert this into an mp3 file and download it?
Michael Bunn I've never used Spotify and I use my phone to listen to music so I can't do that
LandenNation you can download it on your phone. go to convert2mp3 on Google, loom for this song, convert and then download. should appear in whatever music player your phone came with
Michael Bunn I tried it doesn't work for iPhone, thank you anyways it was cool for the most lart
LandenNation THAT IS BECAUSE IPHONES ARE INFERIOR TO THE MIGHTY SAMSUNG
So I guess this is the official music video for Sleepyhead, as the description says.
gg michael angelakos
the beginning and ending guitar in this always gets me.
damn.
They do cool stuff!
I got over my ex to this song, I will always love her, but I know my heart knows there is someone else that is better than her out there( I hope). I will always love you LYN.
I had the weirdest fucking experience listening to this song for the first time while playing minecraft lmfao
this song rules.
I remember being like 7 years old when my mom showed me this, and I immediately fell in love with passion. They brought me so much happiness over the years, I thank them for that. They truly were my childhood.
Hate to admit this.... but this and many Passion Pit song remind me of whip-its, but in the best way possible lol
Hahahahaha all is forgiven
intro sounds just like hoobastank-the reason
money man you are so right,
Favorite song off the album. Hands down.
i think its sucks that the radio never plays underground indie music like passion pit, yet some of the best music is among bands like this
Im no where near hipster and I fucking love this music. You people calling this "Hipster music" are idiots. Quit putting labels on things. Everyone likes what they like. Now get over it and move on.
I think it is referred to as "Indie Electronica Pop" or something like that.
I'm not a perfect person Everytime I hear the intro
I've listened to this song a total of 14 times today, and i don't plan on stopping
:)
how much more did you listen?
Sitting on the city bus headed to Lakewood mall or Long Beach City College...I remember vividly when my iPod would shuffle to this song. Music is our only true time machine.
yo nunca he estado
me siento vivo!
Am I the only one who remembers another song around 0:00 - 0:10? A sad, maudlin song. Maybe emo. What bothers me more is that I can't remember the title of the song, or the name of the band but they consist of all guys. It's been bugging me.
Also between 3:48-4:07
+Kim Millard I'm not sure if this is the song you thought of, but it reminded me of Hoobastank - The Reason's intro.
I KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT :) I read your comment a while back i did the research and found the song :) i hope its the one you thought it was
It's a Modest Mouse song. Believe me, it's on the tip of my tongue too. I don't know - maybe Baby Blue Sedan?
why does passion pit have such good music AND music videos?
I absolutely adore this lovely and criminally underplayed song. Love Passion Pit so much.
he is definitely trying to lick the mic
BEGGINING SOUNDS LITTLE BIT LIKE HOOBSTANK-THE REASON
Bella canción para empezar un nuevo día..
3am listening to passion pit.....i hope this gets many likes
We watched this in English class
you have a cool fucking teacher then
Lol the people who talk about hipsters are almost as bad as hipsters themselves! You should listen to music because you like it! Who the eff cares if it's "hipster" music
Ive been listening to passion pit all night, and the songs keep getting better and better!
Here comes the tidal wave that is Hutch's amazing fan base =)
How do people dislike music that they chose to listen to. I'm confused
+Heavyn Taliaferro-McClintock They came, they didn't like, they disliked, they left.
I never knew this sequence. illuminati confirmed
Heavyn Taliaferro-McClintock I am actually a representative of the reptilian species. Donald Trump is a reptilian, and he dislikes this video.
Ahh reptilian people! I hope Kanye West can fire the both of you... to kingdom come!
Our base is located inside the Moon-- oh, fuck, never-mind.. uh... kittens.
if this music makes me a hipster well god damn finally! if starbucks makes me a white girl then who cares because it is damn good. if these are the labels that matter then im fucking everything :)
How is this hipster music?
Dominic Fernando it's not really mainstream. People think stuff that isnt on the radio is hipster music
CRACKA JACK Well if that's the way Hipster music is determined, I'm proud to be a Hipster. Screw the beliebers!
3pm listening to passion pit....because I have stuff to do in the morning.
there's a feeling of nostalgia to this, even though its my first time. i miss summer 2009. best three months of my life
The only members left in the band are Michael and Jeff :(
***** I know, kinda sucks. I don't know why they left, so I can't really say anything, but I always hate when people leave bands
Well I mean Passion Pit started out as just Michael so
Silent are they still making music
Skyler Berman not sure about the members but michael released passion pit 4th album like march or may idk
I truly don't understand why people think "hipster" is a derogatory term. I love when people call me a hipster. I take it as a high compliment. To me, hipsters are: Caring, Eco-friendly, organic food lovers, vegan/vegetarian, animal cruelty aware, conservationists, and peaceful. That sounds to me like a pretty awesome "trend".
They are assholes.
8bitDude0 You may have a point there.
Sir, you are thinking of "Hippies".
You fucking hipster.
TheCuddlyJuggernaut I agree, hipsters are wanna be Hippies. They just half assed it. They are not for the cause, they are for the attention.
And gay, dont forget gay
This song gives me the chills
Just to remind me, this is my favorite Passion Pit's.
Loving the big scientist party towards the end
best passion pit song in my opinion SOOOO GOOOD
You can tell that everything that they write comes from their heart.
Esta canción te hace sentir mil emociones al mismo tiempo.
God, this song's gotten me through so much shit. It still is.
It feels the way you told me how it'd always feel 🙌 Love Passion Pit!
That song reminds me of my father 🥰
Recently was introduced to Passion Pit, Can not get enough of it.
I really hope there's more in the works~!!
i think gossamer is beast. i think all of their songs are so different from one another you always get a taste of something new which makes them so awesome. dont care anything about album titles all of their songs are unique and flat out boss
I freaking love the whole feel of this song, and many of their others.
Passion Pit has some of the most catchy songs I have ever heard. I think this is one of my new favorite bands!
this is eyes as candles
