Before roasting turkey, we submerge it in a light brine for two days. The brine infuses our turkey with savory, delicious flavor, all while tenderizing the meat.

Good Eats Turkey Brine is better. This is too diluted

We can agree to disagree, although Alton Brown is never a bad choice when it comes to recipes! This brine is very flavorful, and since the turkey sits in it for 2 days, you achieve maximum flavor.

@inspiredtaste Could I use Celtic Salt? My salt I ordered won't get here in time and my grocery stores are all out, believe it or not! Or, if anyone knows if I can use celtic salt I could use the help as I'm starting my brine today! Help! Your turkey, gravy and apple cobbler I'm trying out! They look delicious!❤😊

We haven't tried it. Celtic Salt is just naturally made and has more minerals it should be fine. It shouldn't alter the result.

Oh, thank you! I used my scale and measured 4.5 ounces per the instructions on your website. I hope this is correct? Thank you for responding!! I'm hoping 4.5 Oz was enough salt? My turkey is 13lbs if that helps?
