      @@phantom-ri2tg it makes sense that the people who made these programs would work in the industry would be the ones to repurpose it for something else, or the public to use and abuse. I got well acquainted with a gal who created her own AI art program and to train it, used her own art, and uses it exclusively for her own work, but it seems that a bug in her program is that it deletes itself after a month, so she has to remake and retrain it, and she can only feed into it thirty images at a time. I hope that she's able to perfect her personal program for her sake, because I've seen a dress or two that she's made with her own program (she does digital fashion design), and it was amazing to see what she's made become something else and build on top of.

      I pretty much agree with both of you. As well as Inkblot. Inkblot has every right to tell people what to learn from and what is considered 'learning'. Inkblot wants every art piece to be 'human-unique', 24/7, all the time? That's entirely within their rights and privileges. That being said, A color palette made uniquely to define one's art style, as long as it is 100% humanly-decided color, should be allowed on Inkblot-- as long as it is substantial artwork. Human artwork should be celebrated. Always.

    The issue with AI is not the fact, AI is a tool (that could be really useful to e.g. generate references to be used as inspiration for pieces), but the fact that in it's current stage, the rampant dishonesty from AI trainers (as they are not artists) and the unethical database that is being used.

    I’m pretty shure the movie klaus used an AI program with their animation, specifically to quicken the time it takes to do all the lighting so it’s more manageable and easier to create a beautifully stylized film. They of course had to adjust a lot during the production since it’s not all accurate but it helped them be able to actually make it. It’s a good example of how it can actually be used well in animation. Everything else was drawn by hand. I wish it was used like that more because it could possibly bring a 2D animation renaissance Whare it has all the cool stunning shading visuals of cgi but allows for the cool stuff that only 2D can do.

    I've been to a music concert dedicated to a regional musician who would turn 100 yesterday. I only went because my relatives found out a relative of them-who is also a regional musician-would be there. It was a great show... Except they have been caught using AI art in the background. There was a screen behind the musicians that was supposed to show speeches from the organisers of the event. During some of the songs the musicians played, realistic pictures of men in horses with flags of my home country-Brazil-as well as Argentina and Uruguay, sometimes. How did I find it was AI art? Firstly, I know by heart how the Brazilian flag is supposed to look like. It has a strip in the middle of the blue circle with "Ordem e progresso" (Order and progress in Portuguese) written on it. On the pictures shown at the concert, the text was illegible. In another picture, the flag of Argentina, which was supposed to have two light blue stripes, a white one between them, and a sun in the middle, has a white jack with another sun, possibly a result of blending it with the flag of Uruguay in the same picture. The last picture had a blend of the Brazilian and Argentinian flag in a very shadowy shade. In two similar flags. Along with a seemingly pure Brazilian flag on the other side. I was shocked. I would never expect a regional music presentation use AI art. So far, this is the only thing I hated about the concert. This is what being a vexillology nerd does to you.

      @@neeevirus what's the difference? an artist takes a tool to canvas to create what they envision using other works for reference. So... Why does it matter what tool is used to accomplish this, whether it be a paintbrush, a pencil, a camera, or programming? You're only binding your own hands.

    • @neeevirus
      @neeevirus Před rokem

      @@rjbourgeois5490 What's the difference? If you're actually asking that question genuinely, then here's my answer:
      So first, in a nutshell, using ai generators, not as a tool, but as a crutch to easily get out a product is more closely related to tracing rather than referencing
      when an artist uses a reference, they utilize it in a way that fits their style, they recreate the reference in a certain expression that envisions what they want to achieve with their illust. Real artists have a vast knowledge in anatomy, gesture, lighting, and composition, and so with this skillset they're able to create something new. These artists use tools to assist them achieve precisely their goal for the illustration, the tool does not take over the artist's control, but rather the artists controls the tool to create specific adjustments. These tools are: liquify, blend modes, gradient maps, layers, custom brushes, transform, just to name a few. You can also use ai art generators as a tool for your art, be it if you want to photobash it in your illust, or use as refs. This is what makes an artist's work have meaning
      Now back to my first statement, how is using an ai art generator similar to tracing? Tracing is when people take an artwork, then draw over the lines. Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down. They don't actually know what they're doing, they dont know the anatomical structure, the perspective, the composition, etc. The same goes for ai prompters. They don't actually know anything that's going on, they just let the ai do its thing and take all the credit. This is my verdict

    • @rjbourgeois5490
      @rjbourgeois5490 Před rokem

      @@neeevirus If the tool functions in a way that allows the user to generate imagery without understanding anatomical structure as it has already been built within the functions of said tool to output, how is it any different to just taking years to learn it in classical education? Artisans do the same thing except at a more extended period of time during their schooling and practice work. It's not a 1 to 1 trace of an existing work (unless it's been specifically prompted to do so), it is taking references (exactly like an artist does) of existing works to figure out how and what is expected of it's output to be considered on par with our current understanding of art expectations. Artisans didn't create the human body, nor did they create the lush fields of grass. All ai is is an expedient tool, more efficient than the pen, and on point with the camera. All you are proclaiming in that last comment is a gatekeeping of a particular method of output to achieve your desired results. If you don't like the tool, you don't have to use it. That's the good thing about tools, they are designed to make life easier for it's wielder but aren't a requirement as there always other methods and means.

      This is ONLY for Canadian law as I understand how it and the current rulings on AI art work:
      if the AI's entire dataset is made from YOUR images, or images you're allowed to use (be it because you bought the license, because the Creative Commons or other license it's using allows you to use it for your specific purposes, or because it's in public domain), then you're considered to own the AI art that's generated.
      If you're using it as a reference, the same way you'd use someone's random photoshopped "mixed animal" like a horse with a wolf's mouth on it, then it's entirely your copyright. Also if you use a 2D picture and create a 3D render, even if you don't own the 2D picture, the 3D render is considered transformative under fair use so you own it the same way Weird Al Yankovic owns Amish Paradise even though it's a spoof of Gangster's Paradise.

      @@botousai If you use your OWN work in AI tools, then it's fine,l since you're using your own work. The second you use someone else's work without permission or credit, then it's theft.

      i think the models you made using the Ai as reference material can be copyrighted. or well their Mesh since that's what is human made. but your reference pictures can't since that was done with the Ai.
