- To fix the "see dealer maintenance required" issue caused by code:
P268115
You need to replace:
camry engine coolant bypass valve
replacement part: 16260-F0010
I bought mine for ~100US at :
www.ebay.com/itm/255749388669
This video is how to replace the engine coolant bypass valve.
Once that is done, you will need to go on dash/ settings and reset maintenance required message.
Thank you for the vid brotha it helped out aloot.
did one of these on a clients 2020 rav4 xle
same part number as well. came as an assembly
I didnt feel like taking the battery off and relearning a bunch of stuff so the tip about taking the tire off to take the bottom hose off was slick.
only annoying thing was the windshield cowl getting in the way and having to plank on the engine lol other than that not too bad. Thnx again!
You are welcome. Glad the video helped you.
Thanks for the video. I have to do this to my 2020 Camry at the dealer also told me I had corrosion on electronic pen im thinking its that plug on the top. So I'm going to have to replace that too
Good luck!
Well, I just bought my 2020 last month and I threw this damn code. I bought my first newer car so I wouldn't have to work on my car as much anymore but, such is life lol.
My question is, do you have to do any kind of coolant "burp" or anything with these cars after you replace the part?
Thanks so much for sharing this video. I searched for a while and this was the only comprehensive video that covers the 2020 coolant bypass valve replacement.
Glad you liked the video. Thanks!
Nope. No need for the burp. Just fill her up with coolant. You do loose a minimal amount when you change it.
I have a 2019 Camry Hybrid. I saw this code a year ago and did not fix it.
Is it the same piece that installs it?
Question. What is the reason for taking the second hose at the bottom out? I seen other videos where they just took out the top part. Or is it all one part?
It’s all one part
Did you empty out the radiator or does it not spill too much while switching the valve?
it does not spill much
My 2018 Camry L with 155K miles on it developed a check engine light today. The local Autozone store says that it has a code: P26CB Engine Coolant Pump Performance/Stuck Off. The car did not overheat, so I'm assuming that the water pump is ok. Looking online and at your video, it seems that it might be the Engine Coolant Bypass Valve that is bad. Does that make sense? Today is Saturday evening and the local parts store doesn't have the part. Would it be ok to drive it as such until I can get the part on Monday or should I park it until then? Thanks for you video! Also, does the part have to be replaced as a whole with hoses or can it be the valve alone? Thanks again.
That makes sense. You should be ok to drive it until you can get the part. The part does need to be replaced as a whole with hoses. You are welcome. I hope I helped.
How did you remove the top white and green hoses clips?
The colored plastic things (white and green) are plastic retaining clips. they should slide back and the hose connector should slide up/off.
I have a 2019 toyota corolla and I swear I thing the fucking bolt to the valve is welded the fuck on
How much was the part? I have to change mine out
around 100 dollars. I got mine from swtoyota on ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/266005499492
