Not only their pricing but the constant way they cannot make enough stuff to keep in stock or the FOMO releases
It's why they're one of the most profitable businesses in UK. Yes, GW is more profitable than banks and multinational corpos.
I was thinking of buying a couple big models just to do as a modeling/painting exercise without dumping 1k+ to build an army to really get back into the game, until a CZcams channel pointed out that GW charges more for their models than their equivalent weight in silver; started looking at Gunpla kits after that.
This was the response I was looking for.
Others said this first but the moment she started complaining about how absurdly expensive the hobby is I was convinced of her credibility as a fan.
Jesus. I remember when I first got into Warhammer I could get a codex or a box of Tac Marines for $30.

My buddy's friend bought, built, and painted a Greater Demon from what i recall. Once he finished, GW released a new model and made it so you can't use the old model in official tournaments anymore. He never bought Warhammer models again.

Recently got into Underworlds, I'm so glad my group has been so helpful. Split the cost on new boxes, bought two warbands (minus the cards that I printed) from another, and none of them mind that mine aren't painted.

Effectively GW sells plastic at the value of silver. Come to think of it, this was years ago. With inflation and average greed those piece of plastic are probably reaching their weight worth in gold.
