    Do you know about the hidden dual rates on the Mini B? It makes the brushed one go much faster. Read the manual it is in there and so many people are skipping it.
    Throttle Dual Rate
    1. Place the vehicle on a stand, and power ON the transmitter.
    2. Power ON the vehicle.
    3. Apply either forward or reverse throttle input on the transmitter and hold that position.
    4. To add or remove throttle input, hold the throttle input, and press the (+) or (-) Throttle
    Trim button.

    We were running these this past winter indoors on a clay a track for 1/10 trucks and buggies they can almost put down the same lap times as the A main 1/10 buggy’s although I forgot to say they were also upgraded with hobby wing ESC brushless motor kit’s and aluminum shocks 👌very fast handled very well especially for how light they are!

If a kid is wanting to get into this hobby and has a small budget it’s beneficial to have the option for a brushed system while still being able to get a hobby grade rc with the ability to upgrade later on

    As a first RC it is the best bang for the buck especially if it’s a first race car as your first RC. It has a decently fast charger, an esc and motor that are slow enough to run in your house, a servo that isn’t slow and tires that work good on nearly any surface (except wood obviously)

    Looks like a nice little sled. It just hits me in the face again how annoying it is that RC makers use a scale to describe the size of a car that is not a proper scale model of a real car, so it ends up being so wishy-washy that it is hard to tell how big the thing is. Yes I know, you told us. But usually if you want to get creative and combine bodies and chassis which are not meant for each other, you have a hard time figuring out what fits and what doesn't.

  • @VestedUTuber
    @VestedUTuber Před 7 měsíci

    I've got the Mini-T 2.0. It's a nice car but my big complaint is that it's MASSIVELY overspecialized for racing and only really works on smooth surfaces. Which, granted, is kinda to be expected for a 1/18th scale stadium truck but we basically lost the Mini 8IGHT series for this thing, and the Mini 8IGHTs were far more versatile even if they weren't exactly good for rough terrain either. The tires are also, well... overspecialized for racing, in this case specifically for carpet and clay, and they wear out super quickly on pavement.
    So... yeah. I feel that while in concept this platform is great, it could have been executed a little better.

    Is think this is a pretty nice little buggy, and the price is decent, especially since this is from a big brand. Personally though, I prefer my WLTOYS 144001, yes, WLTOYS is a small brand, but they make some of the best budget RCs IMO. The 144001 has a 540 motor out of the box, yes, you heard that right, a 540 brushed motor in a 1/14 scale RC. What speed does that produce? Around 30MPH with the stock 2s 1500mah battery!
    It has a metal chassis, 4wd (with a metal drive shaft, metal drive cups, metal dog bones, and metal CVDs), double wishbone independent suspension,front and rear, oil filled shocks, fully tunable shock position, camber, toe, front and rear.
    There are also plenty of aftermarket parts for it, not as many as say Arrma cars, but still a lot.
    The 144001 is RTR, you'll only need 4 AA batteries. How much for this sweet package you ask? $70-$85! I absolutely love this little car, highly recommend

    Looks like a fun little yard ripper. I bought myself an ARRMA Granite MEGA a few days ago as a birthday gift, so it's my first hobby quality rc truck. I'd like to eventually switch it to brushless, but for now I just upgraded it to some Spektrum SMART LiPo packs and a matching smart charger. I want to do it right and replace key parts with stronger metal versions before going brushless. So for now I'm gonna get some fun out of it in stock form before going too ham into buying any go-fast bits. :)

    • @CadgerChristmasLightShow
      @CadgerChristmasLightShow Před 2 lety

      The only metal parts you need to make your mega a brushless one is the "power module" that houses the slipper clutch and has the motor mounted to it. It has a metal motor plate instead of all plastic like your mega has. Not much else you need. My 3s brushless arrmas came stock with mostly plastic parts and they handle a beating. Thing I break most is the half plastic main input gear, and its better to break that 7 dollar gear than something else.

      @@CadgerChristmasLightShowThanks for the info, I'll have to look into it. I've also been wanting to change the stock 14mm hex's to some 12mm versions. That way I'd have more tire choices, I can get some nice road tires for thrashing about on paved surfaces so I'm not ruining my knobbies. :)

      @GeddyRC Před 2 lety

      I was thinking of doing the same but I'm generally worried about cheapo electronics, especially motors. Which motor did you get? So many no-name options out there. The price of the brushed Mini-B is totally reasonable but more than half that cost to go brushless (an upgrade which I know darn well I'm going to want very quickly) makes the price go juuust out of my comfortable buying range. • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  Před 3 lety

      It sounds like it isn't seated properly and the pads are able to slip. It's not a gear stripped or an axle pin that fell out? Once the slipper is seated properly it shouldn't slip at all, unless the pads have grease or a lube on them. Maybe review the manual and the assembly process; maybe a part is missing? There is something going on other than the slipper slips. Check it out, let me know.

      thank you for your service! if you'd like to get into rc racing\backyard bashing more seriously, id highly recommend getting one of these mini buggies, or something similar like a micro crawler. they are small, cheaper and easy to keep running, but they sure are loads of fun! plus you can throw everything in a backpack and take it wherever. i have some experience with both large and small scale, and while a larger car will generally be more stable over rough terrain, nothing beats watching the mighty mini cars tumble and flip like crazy. it really is something, and every day of driving, even at the same location, can bring a new experience. good luck and have an awesome time!

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  Před 2 lety +1

      The runtime was long enough it wasn't a concern, that I remember (20-30 minutes). With the charger, that's a tough one. The included charger outputs half an amp (0.5A) and I have a feeling we used one of our big proper chargers to charge. I'm guessing the included charger is at least an hour job. It's a great little buggy though, really zippy and quick.
