Dylan plays it at an ultra slow tempo when performing live.
Obz
Mark Lanegan thinks this NIRVANA band may have potential.
Dylan Carlson is a genius. Earth's entire catalogue is gold.
Disagree with the last statement. I don't really feel the vibe in the post-jail works... But he is a genius yes... Pentastar is my favourite mantra.
the world, it spins on a crooked axis, left it twitching by the road.

Josh Homme has been covering this song his entire Queens career!
Haha. I wish QOTSA would’ve stayed like the Gamma Ray-Kyuss split-EP and the Eponymous first album.
@@stoneylonesome4062hell yeah.

This song sounds the way you feel when you think of late-‘60’s/early-‘70’s MoPar Muscle.
Simply, the greatest video ever made.
Perhaps the darkest... not sure about the greatest.

Mopar at its absolute finest and in its element here!!, Plymouth Cuda’ 70/71 just screams muscle car,.. get da fuck outta ma way dude!! Although the most beautiful muscle car I’ve ever saw was the 71’ Plymouth Cuda’ featured in the cult classic horror flick, Phantasm!

2 of Kurts best friends.
Alot of people don't know this but the guy with short blonde hair is Ian Dickson. He played bass for Earth around this time. He actually accompanied Nirvana during their 1991 Europe tour with Sonic Youth as Kurts guest.
Best vid ever. Why? Because this the best Earth so ever PLUS the 'Cuda. 'Cudas are the best cars ever put on this green earth.

I saw Earth a few years ago and got to meet Dylan Carlson. Hell of a nice guy.
Does anyone know what fuzz pedal he's using?
Car porn and a bad ass stoner rock song together as one. It’s fantastic
While I may prefer "2 - SLFE", this is stellar. Such a consistently great band.
Me encanta por lo visto kurt no quería cantar solo quería tocar y lo representa un de los mejores amigos de kurt
El lo traiciono ojalá algún día el diga la verdad de lo que pasó realmente pero para mi siempre será.un traídor

Dirty fuckin riffs of pure anihilistic angst
Is Dylan whale-tailing a thong at 1:36 when he sticks the gun in his trousers?
i want the original photo please , thanks.
Love this video. The car and seedy criminal vibe. Couldve been made by Jim Jarmusch or something...
Also, "left it twitching by the road" what an awesome lyric lol.
One of my absolute favourite songs; does anyone know where this was filmed? and if it still looks the same today? whats the story with the guy with the blowtorch at the beginning? meth lab?
+ralucagymnast Tacoma, WA
I was gonna say Tacoma haha.
oh God Tacoma
It really gives me meth lab vibes but Dylan is about to warm up some H later on in the video , so i really cant tell. Anyway, rad video, brings up memories.

1:36 when Dylan Carlson puts the gun in his waistband is he wearing a red thong? 🤣
1:13 So that's why Earth sounded that way in 1996.

Bad. Ass. Song.
Dylan Carlson is like so many of the guys I grew up with in rural WA, except of course that he's quietly brilliant and visionary as an artist, and they're basically still driving around like the small time hustlers in this video.
One gets the distinct impression that whomever filmed and edited this video didn't really get the vibe that Carlson was going for. Lol. It appears to me as a classic instance of director not really understanding the vision of the creator.
Carlson is an unsung monolith on the alt rock PNW horizon.
How is he “unsung”?
@@marcbasil Let's see. His peers from the scene have all mostly been appraised and reappraised over the decades and have (mostly) entered the pantheon of legendary rock & roll artists, from Kurt Cobain & Mark Lanegan to Calvin Johnson of Beat Happening. These are artists who are continuously referenced, cited, have documentaries made and books written about them, etcetera. Nirvana is still ubiquitous in pop culture and still generate millions and millions in revenue a year from merchandising sales to album sales. Nirvana and Kurt Cobain (best friend of Dylan Carlson) have their personal belongings enshrined in museums and sold for millions at auctions, etcetera.
Dylan Carlson more or less pioneered a genre of music and was there at the very beginning of Nirvana's career and was there every step of the way making his own unique music and carving out his own little niche in rock.
Despite his history and innovation, Carlson is only ever mentioned in conspiracy videos about Courtney Love, or when people are writing about the last days and weeks of Kurt Cobain's life. He's known among Nirvana fans as the guy who bought the shotgun Kurt shot himself with and as a possible co-conspirator in his best friend's death, something which is absurd and untrue.
While all of these veterans of Seattle music have been selected for immortality by virtue of their items being put in the MoPop museum and their stories perpetually told and retold in countless books and articles, etcetera, Dylan Carlson keeps steadily producing quality music with little fanfare and touring small venues.
