Years later it’s still heartbreaking thinking of the loss of Adam S. Love this song, love FoW, very glad I ran across this today!
I always wanted a FoW reunion, but this wasn’t how I imagined it would be.
This performance completely captures the sadness and melancholy I feel when I think back to covid. At times it seems like it was just a weird fever-dream that never actually happened. So I come back here often and watch this video so I don't ever forget about how much we lost and how much it changed the world.
What a brilliant, fitting tribute to a prolific songwriter who gave us so, so many memorable songs to hold onto as long as we live. Lucky to have shared the earth with him for a while.
So sad. thanks for being the soundtrack to my life the last 20 years, guys.

Grew up in Hackensack and lived in Wayne a Mike or so from Fountains of Wayne for many years now. Love this song. Adam and mates so talented.

Fuck.... I still remember back in 2014 when i was introduced to this band ( i was 14 at the time) really liked all their songs, every single one of them evoked feelings of peace and ease of mind... Sad this happened to Adam. R.I.P.
adam has been dead for a year now. 2 months after his death i discovered stacys mom and that spiraled into me becoming a very huge fan of his (and fountains of wayne in general). RIP

I always hoped to see them getting along together as FOW, but I knew it was never going to happen. After all these years, they finally performed FOW song together because they won't be able to perform as complete FOW forever. Life sucks. Always will be missed Adam
Just found this on CZcams. I grew up on the Beatles, Stones and The Who but FOW was the best band of the 2000s.
So sad what has happened but so nice to see this song played again. I wish it was under better circumstances. My thoughts are with Adam’s family and friends.

After a week's worth of listening and watching FOW (a longtime favorite) and Adam Schlesinger's creative and eclectic work outside FOW, I have to say Fountains of Wayne was by far Schlesinger's best music. FOW brought an edge to his and Chris Collingwood's music. The lyrics that in other contexts than this four-member band would have wilted...instead became both driving fun music with the depth of short stories. The often told story of Adam and Chris in a bar writing lists of potential songs, both competing and collaborating, carries through all of FOW's performances. Something really great happened in that group, with those two songwriters (and Schelsinger's production, no doubt). They chronicled a place, a time, and their ages, with funny and sardonic touches.

Their other songwriter, bassist and backup singer, Adam Schlesinger, died in April of COVID-19 and he was only 52. My heart still aches.

Fountains of Wayne are one of my favorite bands and "Welcome Interstate Managers" is one of my top 5 favorite albums. I'm not sure who (Adam or Chris) wrote which songs, but they're all great, IMO. Such a tragedy that Adam passed away from Covid.

It is such a shame that this illness has taken so many this year and kept us from seeing and being with those that we love. I am an eternal optimist and was holding out hope against hope that I might get a chance to see you guys perform live one day (having discovered you too late in the game). I will say that as a fellow musician I am inspired by your music both in the complexity of the music and the arrangements as well as the whimsy of the lyrics that just bring a smile to my face. I hope that in these dark times you guys can find comfort knowing that your fans are suffering the lose as well. Keep singing!
