I’ve got a sundown sia 3500 and on a burp Ive clamped 4200 several times (I thought it was a fluke) which is way more than I expected. Are burps similar to when people to the dynamic test when they dyno amps? A quick burst of power before the amp’s smart circuitry is able to throttle it down?
Good stuff If you can wire lower you should be fine - it would help with the impedance rise I have an old Taramps HD 8k 2ohm version On 3 sundown X V2 12s I was wired to 2.67 ohms but i rewired to 0.67 ohms With rise though im at a lil over 1 ohm but it handles it fine Im just sure to never clip and I have great electrical
@@HNiCDuke for me - no Because since I get more power at the lower Ohm load - I’m able to get the output I want for the type of musics I listen to and don’t have to drive the amp as hard as I did with the higher ohm load
@@HNiCDuke"as fast" is relative. If you have a higher ohm load you just get significantly less power and your rise is going to be crazy. Figure rise almost off the bat doubles your nominal. It might drop below that sometimes but more times then not it only increases. So if you start at 1ohm nominal! Jumps to 2 from the get and rises to 4 down to 1.7 up to 5 blah blah blah.... well if you start at 2 then that's 4 ohm to 8ohm to 3ohm and so on. You'll never see at or below nominal impedance (unless you blow a coil and it shorts out of course as then you're at 0ohm 😂... not funny)
Still damn good power from smaller package.dont care what the amp meter says these smart amps are louder than same size "korean" in real world.they might not last as long but they are louder and half the size.not many people have room in their rides for a few 3ft surfboards for amps...lol
They will last just fine but everyone runs them hard and blowing amps is GOING to happen. Then many people are cheap and since they are cheap and we all want cheap power, well they cheap out on their electrical power and kaboom... (I met a dude who had a Taramps MD12k on a stock vehicle... He wondered why it 💩.... 🤯😂) Also cooling is vital, they have fans for a reason, the sink is very thin and on top of it they powder coat or enamel them... I admit I'm not sure if they use coatings that doesn't effect thermal transfer but regardless the power to effective thermal transfer area is crazy high compared to these 3'+ same power apps that are thicker, bigger and anodized (which doesn't effect thermal) and this is why they don't have many fans. It's all about cooling, keeping the electronics cool, voice coils cool, power cool and you cool! 😆
What mine dose just fine don’t understand why people say that if it clips get your electric together like I’m running 320amp with 4 batteries one under the hood and 3 in back! And mines dose just fine hell my sundown clips to so don’t know!
@RyanBassForLife, you have Half Bridge amplifiers, that handle lower than recommended impedance's. This amplifier in this video, is a Full bridge designed amplifier, and they tend to Blow up, when you wire below rated impedance's= Not recommended.
Have to wait until i installed and tested all 4 amps. To see how they react on raise and power. For now, they are very similar on power if i comper the power i was getting on a single 17k wire to .5 ohm to 2 taramps smart 8k wire to 1 ohm.
@956Bassaddict I'd think you'd get more power out of the 17k @ .5. However, the smart 8ks may make up ground on the box rise. Should be interesting 🤔. And if you can please lend us your opinion on the two's differences sounding on the lows
In my personal opinion, the Crescendo 17k sounds amazing, and the taramps smart 8k sounds also pretty good, i went to a local bass meet a week ago. I got to try the smart 8k on a few demos, and the people's reactions and myself were very impressed with the 8k performance, and i was able to float a flag on a single amp. 👍🔈🔉🔊

Yeah their ‘Smart’ version amps are the FLEX series. So far they’ve only came out with the Bravo Bass Flex 3K. Maybe a 5K and an 8K will follow in the future. The new Bravo Bass series by Stetsom are pretty solid.
Damn I wish I could experience in person this slick build
Thank you for the video brother!!
Great video! Thanks!
Thank you, brother 👍🔊🔈🔉
Please keep making videos . I am very interested in these Teramps smart 8k. I need all the info i can get
I'm almost done with the installation. I will be making more testing videos 👍
If anyone doesn’t know…the smart amps are not the best for burps. The smart circuitry actually limits the power. Insane amps for music though.

They do but only when the rca voltage is around 4v, try setting it around 2.5v

The Smart 8 Bass can be wired down to 0.5ohm, not recommended to do so on the regular Smart 8. Doable? Yes, but not recommended.

Oh really? The first 5 seconds of the video remind me of a song from the 90's but I can't put a name to it so it's making me crazy@@956Bassaddict

It's also very close to the huge battery bank. The shorter the run the smaller the wire can be.

I know. I don't know why. That video didn't clamp a lot of power. I have seen 11k+ on before on the smart 8k 👍
that’s right for 2 ohms
