- In this extra special episode of our 'Behind The Design' series we'll be giving you an exclusive tour of our second project in the Middle East- a beautiful villa in the Gulf that we have designed -from key elements of the interior architecture to the furniture, and final styling. In part 2 we look around the home spa, living rooms and kitchen. Sharing design tips and suppliers as well as detailed explanations behind the design choices, we aim to share our knowledge and expertise with you through this channel. There's so much beauty here that I enjoy watching sheerly from an aesthetic point of view. From a practical standpoint, it's so far out of my league that I struggle to find a single element that I could afford to incorporate in my home.
Start with cushions and small wicker baskets
I do believe most of us feel the same regarding how opulent these homes are.
However, I'm able to incorporate the principles of her design into my clients' and my homes. 😊
What you could do is water down the design elements …so take the idea and simplify the concept and use it in a more simple way in your own home…I work on huge villas like these in the Middle East as a decorative Paint artist and muralist and they are truly larger than life with soaring ceilings and vast rooms. The luxury comes from the colors and textures which Sophie uses and that can be emulated in a simpler way without costing a fortune and by being clever with your choice of color, in my humble opinion.
If you can consider what small touches you can add. What I’ve done is try to incorporate ideas such as, clutter-free. So I’m looking around my little home to make it as clutter-free as possible.
Most of us watch just to get ideas
As always this project and the tour of it is just blissfully relaxing and elevated and yet so down to earth and inviting. These clients must be so happy, not only with the design but with the whole experience of having Sophie and her team bring their vision to life. You can tell they give so much consideration to each aspect of the project and take such care in ensuring their understand the clients wishes. And they got to spend time chatting and discussing design with them all? So lucky!

For me, overall beautiful design. The atrium room, I believe just past the elegant double doors, the Portia lamp is truly an aesthetic touch to the whole project. The lighting, sizing of the coffee tables, along with the gorgeous touch of natural elements, like the tree that pops out at the side of the room…Very timeless and classy design. I just love it 🤍
Beautiful, peaceful and very livable home. I'm looking at the sharp corners in my house with a new perspective (and a file 🤣).

You did a superb job delivering what the client want. One observation though…it seems a lot of wealthy ME spaces seem rather commercial looking. Like a 5 star Hotel vibe. It’s all very calm and serene.

Thank you- each client and property has a different brief. The other Middle Eastern project we shared had a very welcoming and comfortable feel but the architecture was much more modern and minimalist 🤍

Sophie Sophie Sophie, beautiful place love the spy area as a massage therapist that would be totally ideal. Love the tones and the colors in these rooms. But the show stopper is your gorgeous and elegant white two-piece outfit. Unbelievable class and just breathtaking. I love it you look great with it I just wish your hair was up a little bit with a couple of wispy‘s down and some earrings to tie into that but I love the nail color and I love the outfit it’s gorgeous. 100% that is what this video is about. Hi Sophie. I enjoyed watching this. I am curious to know how you ensure that the contractors involved in the project run an ethical business. I’m sure you are aware that laws are rather lax when it comes to health and safety in the Middle East, but also that there are many cases of modern slavery. Do you vet the contractors yourselves?

I have paid id advance, 3 years ago a huge amount of money and only got four doors installed whiteout handles. when they got the money I can not reach the persons. you are really a good designer, that respect the clients and your project is stunning beautiful.
je trouve que family---room est plus chaleureuse j'adore la porte secrète un vrai coup de coeur comme nous sommes entrain de rénover notre Manoir on adore visionner vos vidéos car elles sont vraiment inspirante mais ce que je ne comprends pas c'est cette couleur gris avec le blanc que je trouve un peu froide et glacial cette cuisine est sans ame elle ressemble à une morgue ou un cimetière je trouve que le choix de vos clients pour ces couleurs montre qu'ils ont de l'argent mais ils n'ont aucun gout par-contre j'adore les accéssoires de décoration comme les trois petit vases la petit thermo en osier le petit service avec deux tasses et une cafetiére j'adore le design bonne continuation

Very calming interiors, I wanted to know why you and most designer chose pretty standard art, and nothing with a clear artistic woul or m3ssage. Is it to ensure , they don't take any attention from the d3signer's work. Matching art with furniture takes away any real artistic voice or character fro the home at times and makes it feel more like a commercial space.
