It’ll be alright, from what I simmed it’s a straight buff. Doesn’t drop any wins (at least using pvpokes premade gl meta) and picks up poliwrath

I’m honestly surprised that the move is Thunder Punch, it should have either been Outrage, Breaking Swipes or Dragon Claw
I don't think Goodra can learn Dragon Claw and Breaking Swipes.

And Goomy, being a dragon type, can help me fill the requirement to evolve Poipole into Naganadel if I lack dragon-types before Community Day

Don't forget about Hisuian Goodra? Maybe save a few for when that comes out. I really hope they allow us to evolve things into thier hisuian version. If not, that's disappointing
The 2 Pokémon comm days have hisuian forms, so save some cyindaquill!
They'll most likely be raids cuz the hisui starters were in raids

Another method Goomy community day can make more interesting.
After three hours Goomy community day, a level 4 raid boss this is Hisuian Sliggoo.
After defeat raid boss, players have opportunity to catch Hisuian Sliggoo in the bonus catch session.
Goomy will spawn within 300 metres radius from gym.
Hisuian Sliggoo, set it as buddy adventure catch 20 Goomy, 100 Goomy candies and one rainy lure module to evolve to Hisuian Goodra.
English phase kill two birds with one stone.

hey! ill be in New York from London when the gofest event is on. im trying to buy tickets but my card keeps getting declined! ive tried 6 different cards and still the same. my bank says there's no restrictions on my card and niantic don't seem to be helping grrrrrrrr. ive seen quite a few posts online about this issue, wondering if you knew any ways to get round this?? any help would be much appreciated
I thought it was Pikipek as the upcoming community day (but unfortunately it will be coming out soon), unfortunately for PvP are questionable.
The good things about this Comm Day would be grinding the Stardust, Candy, and XL Candy ready for the eventual release of Hisuian Goodra. Having said that, there was a missed opportunity for the release of Hisuian Sliggoo and Goodra. I think this would make the Comm Day a lot better than its currently shaping up to be.
And Thunder Pumch is probably the laziest approach Niantic could have taken when making effort. Any dragon move would be a lot better than this since ThunderPumch isn't really going to benefit Goodra anymore than it does currently with Dragonbreath/Aqua Tail/Power Whip - or Draco Meteor if you fancy a Dragon move for the fun of it. Unless ThunderPunch gets a huge buff the next season after this upcoming one.
I wish it got Breaking Swipe or Outrage. But Shinies/Dust/Candies will have to do for now.
Agreed, breaking swipe or outrage would’ve been dope. They won’t buff Thunder punch and not the other elemental punches, but the question is are they all getting buffed?

Yeah, this is what I was thinking, given that Niantic decided to pick a load of mons to get Thunder Punch - and will this follow with the other elemental punches?

It doesn't help cause if you use a meteorite it goes in the 1st move spot so you would use a elite charged TM anyway.

Whatever you do, don't put up a rainy lure during the event. You'll be getting 3 hours of water, bug and electric types out of this lure, with an occasional Goomy.

@@stephenmccabe9507 As I explained already, those special lures have their own spawns. You'll hardly see any goomy on this lure.
Just use one after the community day. You have a 3 hour window to evolve, if you want the community day move.
