Mercedes-Benz GLB vs VW Tiguan Allspace: 7-seats + big style = Value?

Family SUVs are all about numbers and boxes ticked. But these also offer buyers the badge factor and some prestige above the usual (and boring) people movers. From Wolfsburg we have the Tiguan Allspace R-Line and from Stuttgart, the GLB 250 AMG-Line.

Tiguan has IQ lights, the matrix LED that is fantastic for night driving. Almost all journalists miss this (cos they don't test cars at night?) You can drive with high beam on, 500m visibility n it will block out that part of lights automatically without glaring oncoming cars

My family owned 3 mercedes cars . I like the comfort and speed but hate the tiny cabin space. Test drove the tiguan allspace 1.4 2022 last month, damn this car is so good even with smaller engine than in this video. The handling is very solid and effortless. Benz is heavy

One thing you forget about cargo is that while the GLB is smaller behind the 3rd row, if you get AWD in the Tiguan you loose the middle seat in the 2nd row. If you need to sit six people with the GLB 4matic you can always lower one of the 3rd row seats for more cargo. Can’t do that with Tiguan awd.
