Oh, my goodness, Krista!!!! I have been "attempting" to use this method to do binding for a few years and it NEVER worked well. The combination of the Folded Corner Tool and your excellent tutorial worked magic! My latest project turned out perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your method with us.
I am so thrilled to hear this!! Yay, congratulations!!
I watch this every time I bind, thank you!
:) I am so happy to hear that!
Krista, this is the very best you tube for joining ends on your binding!! Thank you once again! My binding is perfect.
Yay!! I am so glad to hear that Nancy! It's seriously a game changer!
Krista, I've been quilting for 29 years and have always gotten confused when joining my binding ends. Now I watch this video every time I bind. It's fabulous!! Thank you!
Oh wow Janet!! That is high praise :)
I so agree! Thank you!!
Minute 3 is where you show us how to do that binding join!!! What a treasure! It is the first time I have even come close to understanding how to do that! ALL of this video is helpful, though, so thanks for doing this!!!
I am so glad to hear that Mary!!
Game changer! I just discovered I had this tool in my ruler 'stash' and tried it for the first time today. It was soooooooo much easier than the other tool I've been using for years. Definitely a new favorite! Thanks for sharing this, Krista.
Yay!! I am so glad this was helpful!
It will be my "go to" method from now on! I am working on binding my Champagne and Pearls quilt (from your 2022 class at Road to California), then it will be on to binding my Summer Swag quilt. I also just finished (finally) Snowflake Lane and will deliver that to the quilter as soon as my backing comes in. Do you think I'm a bit of a "Krista addict"? I was just at a local retreat and another gal was working on Licorice and Lollipops - I also have all the fabric for that! Sew much fabric, sew little time! Thanks for everything. You are an amazing quilter, an amazing teacher, and an amazingly fun and talented person!
Awww! Thank you for this encouraging note Denise!@@deniserainier8647
This is the best video demonstrating the corner clipper. Thank you!
I have used this method so many times with the corner clipper thanks to your vides. The camera views are great and it is really clear how to do it. It works out perfect every time. Thank you. Libby from Quakertown.
I am so glad this has been helpful for you Libby!!
This happened to come up in my recommended feed from CZcams . . . just ordered one! Thank you! 😊
Thank you! I’ve ruined the binding on several quilts. I could never figure out how to correctly end it. Now I can do finally and it successfully and the hint about sewing the back side if there was a little extra made all the difference ❤
I am so glad this was helpful Carol!!
Not just helpful. It’s a game changer!!
Thanks for the video! You’ve made joining so much easier! Live this ruler!
I am so happy to hear that Ernestine!
LOVE that binding trick! That's probably the most frustrating part of my quilting! Thanks for showing that part!
I am so glad this was helpful!!
Mine to!! Love this❤️
I tried this today on my quilt, it worked perfectly!! Thank you so much for explaining how to use this Krista❤️❤️
Krista thank you for showing this tool trick it has changed my attitude about doing my binding!!!!! My friend just shared this video with me about a month ago!!!!
I am so thrilled to hear that Colleen!!
I have an "Easy Angle" ruler that looks very similar to the one used in the video. I just tried it to join strips and it worked great. Thanks for all you share.
Oh good!! I am so glad this helped!
Isn't that the coolest thing?! I have that tool, but have never used it. I am totally using it now. Especially for my binding!
You'll never do binding any other way!!
Oh how easy is that !!! I have ordered my corner clipper ruler !!! Thank you!
The folded corner clipper ruler and your video have made the joining of the binding easy….well sort of as I’m still a beginner quilter. I too watch your video each time I am finishing/joining binding and it’s a smooth process with a perfectly joined seam. Per your video, I also use the ruler for joining binding strips. Thank you.
I am so thrilled this has been so helpful Mary Lou!
Love it, love it, love it! One of my favorite rulers!
Mine too Sherry!!!
Used this little darling for the first time today and I’ll never do borders or bindings any other way again. This will be forever in my quilting toolbox. Thanks Krista!
I know!! It is a magic tool!
Thanks so much for your demo. Great tool! Learned how to do this without a tool but this tool takes the guess work out of it.
Totally love the folded corner clipper binding trick!
Oh good Lynda!!
I’ve had this tool for years and used it for a class but don’t remember what class or what I learned so tried it after watching your video when sewing my binding pieces together and the last attachment of the binding and what a great way to make it SO much easier! I’ll be using this every time! Thank you!!!!
I am so glad you found this video! You will be using that tool all the time now!
Great demo! That tip about flipping the quilt over for that final seam is so helpful. I often have a little tuck in the binding at that spot. I'll have to remember to flip my quilt. Thank you!
I am so glad you found this helpful!!
Great video. I love the folded corner clip for all my tiny folded corned like 1-2.5 in or Tiny HSTs, but glue in seam. Perfect every time. I had been using the border and binding joins, but this is another use I must try. You’re an excellent instructor. I’m sharing this with my local sew groups on Facebook and asking them to subscribe to your great content.
Aww! Thank you so much Manuela!

I don’t know how I missed this tutorial BUT this really makes that join so logical. It usually takes me at least a couple of times to get my brain in gear to join that last bit of binding. A big thanks for sharing your method.
Fast becoming a favorite ruler! I especially love joining ALL the binding strips together and of course that final step... And all my half square triangles... Use this rule almost every day... Thanks Krista!!

@@kristamoserwhat is the name of the pattern behind you? I love the dresdens in the border!!
@@ckam86; it isn't a pattern. Here's the blog where Krista explains how to make those border dresdens. If you want to make the whole quilt, send us an email at info@kristamoser.com and we'll send you some information.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! First try my binding was perfect! Thank you!!!!
I am thrilled to bits to hear that Shayne!! Yay!!
This is great and it does give you a perfect match. I just need to remember not to twist either end of the binding before joining together!
Yes! We always make it harder than it is :)
I love this tool.
Me too Kathie!
Great tool. Thanks
You bet Robert!
So helpful! Thank you!
You bet!! I'm glad you found something helpful here :)
You can open the cut-off strip for the width of overlap instead of the ruler.
That would work too!
Ten thumbs up for this idea!!!
Thank you Sally!!
Great tutorial. I’m binding my first quilt and after seeing this will always use this ruler. Thanks so much!
I am so glad it was helpful!!
Got one but did not know how to use it so thank you
You bet! I'm glad it was helpful!
Thank you! This is the best explanation for the part of making a quilt that always makes me sweat!! LOL! Is there a way to flag favorite videos to find them quicker when needed?
I don't know about flagging them, but I know you can build a favorites playlist!
Excelente esta herramienta nos ayuda mucho, !gracias por compartir,! un saludo desde La Guajira Colombiana
Estoy muy feliz de escuchar eso! Gracias por tu nota, feliz acolchado :)
Awesome tip!
Oh good! I'm glad it was helpful Kristin!
When you cut off the first piece of excess tail, open it - use it to measure how much overlap you want to have between the two tails.
I have seen that trick too Ellie! I'm sure it works great!
Excellent!
Oh good! I'm glad this was helpful :)
I just ordered one. Thanks
This will change your life!! haha!
Great Video! FYI, that piece that you trimmed off when you were prepping the final binding join? If you open it up and place the fold line 90° to the fold in the binding on the quilt, you can use that cutoff binding piece to guide how much your overlap should be, i.e. you don't need to measure.
Oh yes! That would work too!
Love this! Have often struggled to get ends together neatly. Thanks Krista.
So many people struggle with that last part Nina! You will love this tool!
Perfect explanation
I am so glad it was helpful Corrie!
I have been trying to use this and have yet to master it.
It comes out wonky for me but I haven’t given up
Thank you Krista, love how it all matches up perfectly. Now where can I find the pattern for the blue quilt behind you? It is beautiful!!!
Hi Janet, we'll gladly send you information about the Dresden quilt. Could you send your email information to info@kristamoser.com?
OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You
Hahaha! I know right!?
Great tutorial, thank you. Do you have a tutorial for the blue and white Dresden/ block quilt behind you?
Hi Freda, if you send an email to us at info@kristamoser.com, we'll send you some information :-)
Krista-- love your tutorials, am making the City Girl Chevron. Using the Corner Clip binding tool, I get how you notch the one end of the binding strips. In which direction do you notch the other end of the strips? I have 7 strips to see together so both ends need to be notched. Thanks.
You can notch them any direction and even do them opposite on each end of the strip! I would lay the first two strips that you want to join together with both sides facing up and cut them together, that way each end will be notched the way it will fit with its partner strip. Then move on to the other end of strip number two and match it up with strip number three the same way.... I hope all that made sense!
Love that binding trick, I love the dredin quilt behind you did you make it and do u have the pattern on it thank you
Thank you, Sharonlee! if you send an email to info@kristamoser.com, we'll send you the info on the Dresden quilt.
I saw this video today and wondered about the quilt behind you. I love dresden plate and blur and white. Do you have a video on that quilt?
No, but if you send an email to info@kristamoser.com, we'll send you more information on that quilt.
Can you use the creative grid tool to do 2 1/4 inch binding?
Is there any way to use this tool when doing scalloped edges--binding?
Would this work for mitered borders? I also love this tool. You have a terrific presentation style. You have a great presentation pace plus you repeat the demonstration which is so helpful to beginners. Tips and tricks are much appreciated! Thanks for a job well done!
Oh thank you so much for your kind note Rebecca! Yes, this tool will work for mitered borders and plenty of other uses too... I may do another video showing what else it will do :)
@@kristamoser please do show us what else this tool will do.
While this tool would work on mitered borders, it is not large enough to help with wider boarders. May I recommend (and I have this) the Creative Grids 45 degree Diamond Ruler. It is a wonderful addition to your ruler cache. It has a nice long 45 degree edge, and many lines. I use this tool for cutting Lemoyne Star using rapid techniques. I love its accuracy.
