When they ditched all juries (which they tried) people started entering super low-rent cheesy songs with ridiculous stagings just to get attention. You need juries to keep the quality up. It's a balance I guess.

You need a jury. When there was no jury the songs were so bad cause the attention got the win and not the quality. It needs to be a balance between those two

The televote definitely has a fair shot of getting their way and has done more times than the jury (in both contests)!

The juries on JESC are different, 2 of the 5 jurors from each country must be children so the results are always so unpredictable...now from the online voting, each person can vote for 3 countries including their own country so the problem here isnt the jury, they give credibility and professionalism to the contest cuz otherwise we would have a bunch of circus acts every year competing, the problem for me is bigger countries will always have an advantage cuz they can vote for themselves.

I think Spain could do very well with a junior eurovision jury. Its currently the song that reminds me the most of their winner last year. And of course Spain will do well in the popular vote. Any big 5 country will not do badly there but I believe spanish people are quite tactical when it comes to the votes and will cast their 2nd and 3rd votes to countries that won't win. French people too... Spain has a fair chance.
the final is on November 26th, and you can vote from the 24th! At the Junior Song Contest, as a country you send 1 person to give the points to the other countries: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and the 12 points.. and this goes on about 16 times. Then come the points from the people in the audience and from home who voted online!
Whoever is at the top after all the points is the winner of the Junior Song Contest 2023
I live in Europe (Netherlands) and I have been following it for years!
I heard that in the Jury there are also Kids and a few adults
I believe there are kids on the jury for JESC.. not sure though. Would be a good idea

I worry about Armenia winning. I'd rather their current war with Azerbaijan end properly so there are no concerns about them hosting. By the way if Armenia win there will be no Azerbaijan next year. France is very pro Armenia so I think that is why Azerbaijan is not participating this year. Spain will be friendlier to them.

And Armenia could do very well with the juries.
Azerbaijan participated in 2021 but withdrew when Armenia won
@@escziva69 cease fire doesn't equal no war... all soldiers will still have to act as if its wartime and either Azerbaijan or Armenia could restart the fighting at anytime and it would not be classified as a new war. A two month cease fire is too short to say that it is definetley over and Azerbaijan might full well ask too much of Armenia in the peace negotiations. This would then easily restart the war.
Re Armenia's song and juries, it's clear you are new to junior eurovision. What adult eurovision juries like and what junior eurovision juries like are not the same thing. Perhaps the major difference is junior eurovision juries have a younger age average. Each one must have a child juror for example. It is highly possible that Armenia could achieve top 3 with the juries.
