    I have an original , first generation, vintage Paiste 505 Black Label from 1973 that would give this ride a run for it's money..It's labeled simply "medium" and is 20 inches of pure warmth, dark tone, gorgeously smooth crashability, and enough washiness to ride on. I have an entire set which consists of an 18" medium crash, 20" crash/ride, and 14" medium hi hats, all in near mint condition that cost me less than this one ride cymbal. As a vintage Paiste collector and user for the past 27 years, it's my go-to gigging set of cymbals, only i'm now using a set of vintage 2000 series 14" medium hi hats, which to me sound even better than 2002 mediums. But my prized possession is a set of 15" medium Blue Label Formula 602 hi hats . The Holy grail of hi hats..

    you cant get enough Paiste masters cymbals¡¡¡ they are really the best available rides except if you prefer trashy sounds because they can be dark but the sound is pure,no trashy at all

    • @jorgevillegas6855
      @jorgevillegas6855 Před 8 lety +1

      paiste 602, are thin but no trashy at all; I think thtat is more related with the hammering

    • @jorgevillegas6855
      @jorgevillegas6855 Před 8 lety +1

      weight can be a factor but not the most important; signatarue fast crashes are thin but no trashy and etc etc

      Porcaro is my favorite frummer since im 6 yrs old. Love his style and obviously highly influenced by Keltner

      Maybe I’m blind and deaf but I didn’t see or hear a one handed double stroke roll.

    • @apebeats6631
      @apebeats6631 Před 2 lety +1

      So there's definitely not a single hand double stroke roll here. I'm assuming you're referring to the "roll" on the cymbal where he used the bottom of the stick after each strike.

    Mr Keltner, you can give any kind of advice, and the rest of us should just shut up!
    Very Nice cymbal, though!

    But why have a jazz drummer try this cymbal? They use light smaller cymbals...

    • @farshimelt
      @farshimelt Před 3 lety +1

      Some do, some don't. Aside from that, Keltner is not a "jazz drummer," he's a drummer who can play jazz.
