  • I've tried loads of M&S canned products and most of them have been really good, so I'm hoping they've nailed their vegetable curry...

    I usually like tinned vegetables curries, more than the tinned meat curries most of the time. I like them on a baked potato as you suggested. Even though it's curry I do enjoy a bit on grated cheese sprinkled on. Glad you tried that. I had wondered what it would be like. I quite like their tinned spiced lentil and tomato soup. I think it tastes nice and is not badly priced. I would happily have it instead of one of the curries, with some naan bread to dip in it and a handful of fresh coriander sprinkled on. Nice one Pappa 👍

    Hi Papparoni , another excellent and honest review here of this M+S product - I have to say after its hobbing it looked really nice in texture and colour but from your reaction did not live up to expectations ! a lot of coin for a veggie curry - why do we constantly have to pimp things up these days ? have a great afternoon mate :-)

    The trouble with all supermarket curries (even "high-end" ones, like Charlie B.) is that they just don't taste the same as BIR curries. My two local Indian take-aways do a vegetable curry dish for £4.20 & £4.50. I bet they're not far off 400g. The vegetable curry is the best bit of a BIR Biryani.✌

    • @Papparoni
      @Papparoni  Před měsícem

      I get what you say regarding the supermarket curries Mat. For me Mumtaz do the best ones, but you can't get them everywhere, and I love the veg curry in a BIR biryani too :)

    Cattaroni had to have the last say 👍
    Now there's one to add to the apocalypse larder. M&S pricey £ indeed, but when there's no electricity or gas, the Kelly Kettle will heat this nicely to get it down the gob.
    I'd serve this veg tikka with some warm damper.
    You can 'Tikka' ✔️ this one off the to try list.

    It looks quite good, but as others said its a bit too dear. If it was cheaper I'd get it to try for the days I wanted to be lazy. I like the tins of Bombay potato from Asda which are £1.30. But I add finger chillies to it as I'm a spice fiend.

    Ah Rock me Amadeus - indeed ! / Nice - I have had this - indeed all their related tinned range. To be honest I had this and added cooked chicken from a Sunday roast into this and it was great. OK, not supposed to do this, but made a really nice chicken curry from left overs. / Mark.

    That looked very rich from the moment that you opened the can and despite lacking in the expected M&S wow factor, a better option than the economy tinned curries. The adding of salt and lemon juice certainly makes a difference, like going from eating a toffee with the wrapper on to without 😅 I have my extra additive for any curry that i have, which is the hot chilli sauce from Lidl, as it doesn't spoil the flavour and adds some oomph to a tikka or korma.

    • @Papparoni
