I brought my first e-bike a Giant Fathom E+3 29er in 2019 and spent the next four years converting it into a all terrain urban cruiser, with better brakes, boots, drivetrain, front suspension and even a dropper post and everything was done on a budget. Now up comes Cube with a bike that replicates mine bolt for bolt straight out of the factory. 😂.
Looks fantastic!
After testing and hiring a few different hybrid and mountain e-bikes and umming and ahhing over a year, I took your advice and finally bought a Cube Reaction e-bike. After now having it for a couple months I couldnt be more happy with my Pro 750. It really is a great package that genuinley meets all my road and off-road requirements. At 61 years of age I've discovered how much more I enjoy riding such a well designed and packaged sensibly priced e-bike compared to my unpowered old hybrid.
I`m about to buy Cube Reaction Hybrid 750 Wh, I`m slighty younger, but really like driving through the wood and rocky trails...but thinking to replace those groovy "fat" 2.4 tyers with narrower 2.0 or 2.1 wide
ordered yesterday on sale and cant wait to get it:)
How much it costs my friend?
Love my similar Orbea Kemen SUV for exactly this sort of riding. School/Nursery runs, then the off road routes to work with a panier bag full of work kit. Hardtail eebs are quite compromised for proper mtb trails (prettty uncomforable on rough stuff) but for gravel-style trails, it's so good. Integrated DRL lights, heavy duty rack, kickstand and Linkglide aren't glamorous, but it make for such a usable and fun bike.
Got one about 2 months ago. Great bike for all-around riding. I plan on doing some bike packing with mine but honestly it keeps me off the gnarly single track and I can afford a nasty crash anymore. For bumper stuff I ended up going with a Brooks B67 sprung saddle and now it doesn’t beat me up.
Looks great mate.
I ride Cube Reaction allroad 750 Pro its great🙂👍
Agreed with this whole video! I’ve finally picked up my Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 400. Being the Pro instead of the Race, it has the same Gen 4 CX motor and Purion display. However, mine comes with the lower spec Shimano Deore 5100 groupset, Tektro HD-M275 brakes on 180mm rotors (spec page said 160 but that’s wrong), X-Fusion MIG32 Air forks with 32mm stanchions and 100mm travel (up to 130mm if you take them apart and adjust), but is exactly the same everywhere else. So it’s the same frame, crankset, handlebars, wheels and Smart Sam tyres. I can absolutely agree with everything in this video. It’s the perfect hybrid mountain bike, and will get you from A to B anywhere in the city no matter the hill, and is great on the light-medium trails too. It’s not a light bike at 24kg, but it’s not super heavy either. Everything feels very high quality, and it’s very sturdy. My seat was quite hard though, and I’ll replace it ASAP. That’s the one thing I disliked! Mine was on sale here in Australia at 99 Bikes for only 3500 AUD which is 2200 USD, due to it being the 400wh model. I also got a free $200 gift card too! I definitely recommend this bike to anyone looking for a nice hardtail e-bike that can actually be taken off road. It’s super fun, and very beautiful in person. The colour is great too! It’s almost white in some light, and dark grey in others. I’ve seen some people complain about the sound of the CX, but mine is actually quite pleasant. You can hear it more in Turbo, but it’s not very loud at all. Maybe they’ve changed something lately? The charger it comes with is great too, at 4A. Some bikes come with 2A chargers which would charge half as fast as the 4A. Appreciate your video by the way. It really helped cement my decision. Thanks a lot!
How many kilometers does that 400 Wh battery carry you?
@@Y4932 The longest I’ve done is 20km on Turbo mode, and it still had about 20% left. I’ve never tried to push it all the way though.
Hi mate, how is the adjustment made on the forks to increase travel? Looking to do this to mine
First I saw was all the mud in the tread. I own my reaction hybrid since 600 km / one year about. rRecently I replaced the Smart Sam tires against "Hans Dampf" tires from Schwalbe... so much different in positive mannor!
Nice, this exact model was my choice until I researched the Moustache Samedi X road. Had it for six months and love it
I’ve just a bought the Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro, but it won’t be here for 2 weeks (looks to be the exact same colour, except that dark grey accent on the back is orange/red). What’s the difference between the Pro and the Race? Is it “just” upgraded component quality (brakes shocks, gearset) with the exact same Performance Line CX motor? Edit: So yeah I just looked it up and it looks like the Race version has better components. Rock Shox Judy instead of X-Fusion Mig32. 203mm rotors instead of 160mm. Shimano BR-MT420 instead of Tektro M275s. And a few other things too. I won’t be taking mine on heavy trails. I just wanted the ability to go off road when I needed to. I’m so excited to get it!
Have you looked at the Bulls Iconic 750. I did and bought it immediately on the spot.
Yes, I agree entirely. I have the Kathmandu Hybrid Pro 625 step through, ( bought Oct 2022 ) but it doesn't look anywhere near as good as yours though. I needed a step through, as I am unable to lift my leg too high to clear the saddle. I've always had mountain bikes since I was a kid, but now I wanted some help with biking & an Ebike was just the thing. I still do a lot of tough terrain, mostly by accident because I love exploring, & this bike copes extremely well considering it wasn't designed for that in mind. The furthest ride I've done to date is 62 miles around the Blandford, Dorset area, & it has lots of very steep hills & some terrible so called bridleways. I've done 2800 miles so far & am already planning rides for the summer. My biggest disappointment though is not being able to use the flow app because mine is not a smart setup. To think I paid £3000 for this bike & it still wasn't enough money to get a better display system. Perhaps I will upgrade someday. Any way I am enjoying it every time I ride, whatever the weeather...
How do you get on with that rack. Its nice looking but it sits very low meaning that panniers hit the derailleur. Thoughts.
Any suggestions on this versus a trek marlin 8 emtb pls ? Spec is slightly better on the cube but both seem to have own strengths.. would be using for more or less same reasons as guy in vid , pls commuting 30 ish mile round trip to work ? Thank you 👌
Glad you like your bike, I only ride full sus so trail bikes suit me better now 2023/2024 SUV ebikes are coming to the market in greater numbers.
Hi, great video. How are they in the rain and using on wet roads . Any issues with water getting in in the battery / motor ? . Thanks.
Have a Cube el bike for 3 1/2 yrss. No matter the weather. 14000 km winter and snow and rain. Great bikes!
Hallo Bruder, sag mal, reicht ein Stoßdämpfer oder willst du trotzdem 2 Aufhängungen?
What size is this bike ?
I think the hybrid frame geometry is really interesting as it's a real do it all bike. Bosch sx sounds quality. Thing that would put me off is that little vintage casio looking screen. I prefer the sort you get with the Bafang mid drive kits. Lots of info and easier to see at a glance on a bigger colour screen. Amazed that it can take a hammering through the woods there.
Whats the mudguard and rack names as ive been hunting for a rack that fits mine but all shops i go into try to fob me off with either they have zero idea OR try to sell me a seatpost mudguard
I got one of the reaction mountain bikes, put a chip in it, can do 30mph on a flat easy, quiet motor, approx 30miles on full charge in turbo mode
What chip are you using for that? Does it work without issues? How much drag do you experience when you hit the 25 km/h with no chip in it? Is it like that feeling of driving in wet cement?
@@SpeedyK my bike has a different motor to the one in the video, it's a performance line version which I believe is less power but makes less noise, I used a volspeedv4, it's decent but you have to leave the bike to timeout otherwise you get fault codes, in regards to the ride itself there is no drag whatsoever with the chip on, when it's off you get assistance up until 15mph then it's all off your own steam, with chip on you get assistance to as fast as you can pedal. If I turn assistance fully off it's almost unrideable, it's like you say, feels like your riding in cement !. Max speed I've hit is 40mph downhill pedaling as fast as I could.
@@MrKieranps1990 Thanks!
Hey ik looking for a like what bike do you have ? Or can you maybe send al link? I’m now looking to buy the CUBE REACTION HYBRID PERFORMANCE 625 black grey 2023
with the volspeedv4 you don't have to wait, had it for a 2 years, one of the reason why i bought the volspeed. Its the other brands that you have to wait @@MrKieranps1990
Really like the bike but isn’t it a reaction pro 625 allroad? The race does t have the guards etc.
I believe you are right!! Also the Race has a more advanced control panel.
it clearly says race! Maybe from last year?
No it’s definitely the Race, otherwise it would come with the 5100 groupset, and X-Fusion forks. The store might have just given him the Allroad package for free.
My 2022 race had no extra accessories. Got the dark grey one. Fantastic bike. Came with Rock Shock Judy and Xt derailer.
@@bazahaza Is yours the dark grey one that looks almost black in some light?
hi. im 186 cm and have a 87 leg inseam. I am curious what size yours is and how tall are you, and how yours feels, it would help me to choose a size for myself
Hi, thanks for your comment. Jamie was on a XL frame and he's 185cm with a 78cm inseam. Cheers
@@MBRmagazine thanks mate
What make are the mudguards and where can I source them?
Did you ever find out what they were in the end ? I'm trying in vain to find them myself 😂
How much does one cost cant seem to find it online any links anyone please.

Where’s the best place to buy cube bikes
Cube’s website is your best place to find a dealer locator. www.cube.eu/uk-en/
Brilliant video
Shame about the battery capacity
I weigh 22 stone and managed to do a 45 mile ride over the North Yorkshire Moors. Still had 15% battery by the end after using turbo last 6 miles to get home quicker.
You get a lot of km's from 500Wh battery. Bosch drive system is surprisingly efficient.
Misleading info regarding the flow App which is only compatible with Bosch gen 4 smart system motor. The fact your bike has a Purion display means it’s not compatible with the App! Begs the question is this a paid promotion?
The current Cube Reaction Pro Hybrid bikes come with the Gen 4 Bosch Smart System and are compatible with the Flow app.
Price?
£3,099 is the SRP
Race ready for EWS-E
Have to be honest, not happy with mine. Had it since march and from the very first ride the front suspension feels weird and cheap and the breaks are horrendous, they felt cheap and spongey from day 1 and only got worse. The back brake won't stay centered either so theres that horrible squealing noise when you walk with it. The gears second to top gear has always skipped aswell..... Just not happy with it at all, the shop i bought it from is an hour on the train too so more hassle than its worth.
Would also like to add i havent used it on trails yet, me n mate dont think it can handle it 😅
About a week after getting mine said mate got the same model, his brakes are bad as well and said the forks feel nasty but he hasnt had same issue with gears thats obviously just how the shop set mine up 🙄
My dad went for the hybrid version, a little extra but hands down worth every penny, much smoother than mine, breaks feel really nice and gears are so smooth. No issues at all!
Test drove one today signifigantly discounted but I don't want it.
Mine is fantastic. Sounds like you need it setting up properly by a bike shop. I ride all over the North York Moors on mine.
@@bazahaza It was ok, like better then nothing but for A high price hell no.
Nice dad bike yo
25km that like 15 miles
Seriously
The bloke in video is talking BS. I have managed over 45 mile rides with 2600ft climbs. And I weigh 22 stone . Never ran out of juice. Around 15% left.
It looks like a cool bike for elderly who need assistance.
take the mod things off and it's rapid .. handling is amazing
LMAO. The BS that you MTB purists say is hilarious. This thing leaves analog bikes in the dust. They’re way more fun.
@@MarioGoatse no doubt. Electric wheelchair can be fun too.
The invention of e-bikes like this has ment I’ve been able to keep cycling through a chronic life long medical condition. Saying these bikes are for old people is patronising to anyone who’s not a perfectly able-bodied person. Believe me, someone who can’t walk, two fake knees at age 30 with HR and BP issues using a heavy e-bike to do bikepacking is a bigger physical and mental challenge than most will likely ever encounter cycling. There’s so many reasons why someone may benefit from a bike like this. Also, as a wheelchair user i can tell you they are not fun and also require years of skill, you’d prob split your head open trying to wheelie up a step - pls stfu
It looks like yoy have no idea what e-bike is. Are you lost on youtube? :D
This looks like a grandpa bike...btw whats up with the weird foot placement on pedals?
No. Just no.
Please let us know why no?
For you probably right, but for most people, this is perfect.
