How I fit a lambretta speedo cable

In this video I fit a lambretta speedometer cable.
If you think I look tired its because I had just come of my night shift at the institution.

Short & sweet 😀 that's exactly how I've always done them. Tie wrap is excellent idea, it was an elastic band back in the day twisted & knotted 👍🏼

another handy vid..good tip with the cable tie...we have all lost the at least one down the forks at some point....do not rely on the rubber o ring on the scootopia cable , its not very tight and will slide down the cable too.....i know, now! one other point to make, make sure you have the correct size cable end first, there are different sizes and some dodgy cables too.

This was a tricky one on sizing. Early S3`2 have the smaller S2 type cable!

Rob, Somehow the speedo end threaded collar has slipped down the cable into the steering column - any ideas how I can get it out please?

Q! inside the front hub were the cable goes in whats the name of the thing it attaches with? because when i bought the scooter from a shop in London the speedo wasnt working so he fitted a new one in the headset but if i remember in the front hub there was a spiral thingy what i think came out and the fella said some are made of metal and some are plastic.

Speedo hub drive is the word you are looking for. Metal are best.

If the speedo drive is good, then it's usually a specialist job to recondition the speedo itself. The reproduction speedos on the market already come with a bouncy needle 🤣

how do you get the nut out the bottom of the fork if it drops ????? who has best idea . i just blow it out with air line from the bottom ........

Yes Airline. but if it has grease on it can be pretty tricky!
