The constant travelling, meaning that I wouldn't be able to ride whenever I wanted for the hell of it, is one of the biggest reasons I never took up racing, along with a lot of the faff that comes with an average race weekend!

This video shows how modern pros are media trained to death, so careful to say the right thing. I do miss the wilder personalities and spirit of riding 20 years ago.

Ya i feel thats just how people act in general. Everyone knows what they say can hurt them in court so you either say nothing or say words that mean nothing or your just built different

Despite what Pinkbike thinks, I would never ever want to be a mtb pro. God bless those who do though, I love watching em. 🤙

Pinkbike chooses to listen to Henry and put his point of view forward. He's a snake oil salesmen and doesn't know how to ride a bike so he's a bit salty...

It touches on something... Because nowadays most pros had wealthy parents who put them on skis and bikes at 5 with the best teachers in the best environment and the best equipment...
I used to love watching professional MTB in the 1990's because people from all sorts of background and weirdos came together. Now it's just another sport. Still fun but not the same.

Start your own business, and never work for a pay cheque. Unless you are a silverspoon athlete and/or your Daddy and Mommy are wealthy the probability to own a roof is near to nothing.
