Nickelback is one of those bands that sound so close to the studio album or even better! They definitely don't deserve the hate they get, they are top notch when it comes to live performances.
Because years ago a certain person said they disliked nickleback and gave all kinds of excuses on why ppl should hate them. He then continued and continued spreading it until he had a following and ppl just kinda jumped on ever since.
Bass player Mike Koeger (pronounced Krewgar), was working in a coffeehouse and he gave a lot of nickels back. They filmed this in their hometown of Hanna, Alberta. They left the next day on what would become 280 shows in 1 year. Still in my top 10 favourite bands.
I produced a slide show of my son growing up when he graduated in 2017, and played this song with it. He was quite emotional. Brings back memories whenever I hear this. Good choice guys!
The band was originally called Village Idiot, and had 3 Kroeger Family members in it, Chad and Mike(brothers) and cousin Brandon(original drummer 95 -97). Mitch Guindan (97-98 but quit because he wasn't meant for road tours in cold weather according to Chad). Ryan Vikedal was drummer 1998 - 2005, then Daniel Adair 2005 - present , who was the drummer in the video. Ryan Peake is the Guitarist/keyboards. Chad, Mike and Ryan all original members since they began playing.
Nickelback is incredible live and they get a lot of crap for their music but these guys are tight and very amazing performers 🔥 for me there’s tons of nostalgia with their music, so thanks for this

Nickelback are from a town close to me in Alberta, Canada. The last time we went on a trip I made my husband stop in that town and go by the high school. He wasn’t nearly as impressed as I was . Lol
I appreciate y’all’s channel, just due to the fact that I see a genuine appreciation for music, it may not be your “genre” or it may cringe music that people have heard so many opinions about, it just makes for good fun and a break sometimes! Awesome!
I love Nickelback! They have a great mix of nostalgic songs, metal songs, ballads and very thought provoking songs. If you like stories and emotion in music they are great at that. For another nostalgic ride through the 80's check out the song 'Those Days' from their new album. It is pure nostalgic story writing - and I love it growing up in that period. Or for a heart wrenching ballad check out 'Lullaby'.

I love how they include pictures of the city they're playing in (local landmarks). Just saw them in NJ on Nov 18th and they still sound amazing live.

Cjay 92 really gave them a lot of airplay in the 90s when they were really just a local band ... someone knew they were gonna make it
