I’ve been a volunteer firefighter since my senior year of high school and this southern heat in Mississippi only makes it that much hotter.
A lot of people say I couldn't do that, but when you're in a relationship with someone you love, you find yourself doing lists of things you never thought you would, and you find yourself stronger than you thought you were.
I freaking love Nickelback.

I was a firefighter/EMT when I was in my 20's. I was married to a soldier who was sent to the Gulf war. My Dad was a Marine. When you live it the anxiety of not knowing is worse than knowing. I have never met a person who actually says they hate Nickelback. They either don't exist or live somewhere else.

My grandpa was the fire chief in his town. I remember hearing all the fire calls he had to attend to in the middle of the night. Scary not knowing if he would be ok or those in the fires. He had a long, happy life and when he passed away, the big red fire engine led his funeral procession. 💖

I too am a Texas transplant, originally from Idaho. So I feel ya about the TX heat!
I was a wildlands fire fighter for 6 years, working fires all over the Pacific Northwest. So this video kicks me in the gut. The last time I left for a big fire, my wife told me if I left she wouldnt be there when I got home because she couldn't deal with the stress anymore. She held true to her word and I came home to an empty house. I moved to TX a year later.
This just makes me think of all of the hard work firefighters do and we need to appreciate them more. I love and respect all of the hard work so much!!!

My great grandad was a firefighter in London in WW2 and my great grandma was living in the country with their kids and she got told that he’d been killed in the blitz and then like a week later he walked in the door and almost gave her a heart attack 😂 turns out there was another guy with the same name and they got the wrong one but my great grandma would tell the story every chance she got
Wild land fire fighter here. Regular fire fighters call us the crazy ones. Lol. Their are some great wild land fire fighting movies you could relate to. The bond among fellow wildfire fighters is like the bond in the military.

Some years ago, my sister's family, her husband's parents and my mother were vacationing together in Mexico, and I knew they were going to Playa del Carmen and taking the ferry. I was at the store that day, and I saw on the news that a ferry at Playa del Carmen was blown up in an apparent terrorist attack.
Ignoring international call fees, I called my mother, no response. Called my sister, no response. Brother-in-law, no response. I started to REALLY worry, but a few minutes later my sister called me back and said that that wasn't the ferry they took.

I’m a volunteer firefighter still but I’m a medically retired full time and part time firefighter. I couldn’t leave completely because I loved the job and owed it my life from an incident as a child so I still do what I can. I like to watch your videos and see your reactions because you stay true to yourself and values and I respect that.

Watching/waiting to hear news about a loved one on the television is really tough. It happened twice in my life. Once was when I was very young and my grandpa was in a mine that collapsed. He made it out but all of the adults huddled around the tv, trying to find out anything.The second time was last year. My husband was working and I got a call that he had been in an accident. They said that was all the information they could give me. I turned on the news and my husband's work crew was on tv. While he was digging for underground pipe, the hole collapsed on him and one of his workers. At the time, they didn't know that they were safe (thanks to a dig box) and assumed they were dead. I found out from the television that my husband was alive.
Hell yeah! Been a volunteer for a little over a year now. I love it, and in September I'm going to college to become a paid firefighter for one of the city departments near me. Another firefighter inspired song Blue on Black by Five Finger Death Punch featuring Brantley Gilbert. Keep up the videos man.

I don't like every song Nickelback has ever made but they have 10 really big ones and as a whole I love the band because of their unique and consistent sound. Chad Kroeger is the name of the lead singer; he actually has a solo song that was a theme music for the original Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire.
