      @@SM-ji1qe I have a slight feeling some good old classic “reality show editing” was done to make it seem that way. Either that or she said it, not because of the dress, but because her being in the final dress with the vail on, made the MIL emotional, and she just needed to say that. But if you wanna go with the “MIL only cares about dress” interpretation. Go for it.

    • @wildflower1397
      @wildflower1397 Pƙed 2 lety +30

      They did not ignore it, they stayed right in her range. For people who are used to purchasing high priced items, it is understood that "$7000" means up to "$7,999". She is a beauty contestant and would have the experience to expect this, as well as knowing that alterations will likely be hundreds of dollars. Any extras, such as added lace, beading, or accessories such as a veil will not be included in the first quote. They even left enough room in the budget to ensure she would not go over the $8000 mark with alterations.
      While I agree it is disrespectful to only show dresses above the bride's budget, that was not the case in this episode. If the bride's budget was $1500 and they showed $2000 dresses, it would be rude, because that $500 more is 1/3 of her original budget. However, going a few hundred over on a $7000 budget is just a small fraction of the budget higher. Either way, they should never pressure the customer to try on or purchase what they can't afford.
      Brides need to be ready to stand their ground on budget and not try on anything shown to them above budget. Better yet, state a budget lower than what they can actually afford, so they can view a range of prices. However, don't fault a salesperson for showing them something over budget if it is exactly what they are asking for. It's not always about their commission. Sometimes what the customer wants is simply not in their price range, and they deserve the chance to turn down their perfect dress or increase their budget so they can have it.

In the meantime a cousin called me and asked if I had a dress yet. She had a friend that called off her wedding. She had a dress altered and wondered if I wanted to just take a look. I figured why not. I'm 5'2", 120. The dress fit perfectly and I loved it more than any I had seen so far. Total $35. Yes I got blessed. This business of spending thousands is crazy. You: angrier than the bride for trying on the dresses. You did not see the video of her looking at the price tag, saying "too much," then sending them out for dresses all under her budget, did you? Perhaps the price (being a little over budget) was not as important to you as it was to her.

      @@catladyfromky4142 Don't know why you are so mad fool, but when someone clearly states that they do not want a dress over a special price and that's exactly what you do, it's normal to feel decieved and angry. Even if she did look at the price and was upset they would ovbiously not keep that clip. The only dress that can be concidered reasonble to keep in this is the first one. "Only a couple of hundred dollars"? You're clearly quite ignorant and don't know the worth hundreds of dollars have. 100 dollars is 1/10 of 1000. Do you get that? The last dress was 7600? That number is closer to 8000 than 7000. And that is a little over the budget to you? Do you know what a budget is for? And how do you know she saw the price before she put it on ? I have watched there other episodes and they often tell them later. Making someone put on a dress, fall in love, than later tell them it's over budget is cunning and decieving. Of course they'll be okay with it and try to buy it anyway since they are already inlove with it and they probably can barely aford it. Look at all the dresses they have. You really believe that they dont have a single dress under 7000 that she would fall inlove with? You think that they coincidently have 4+ dresses that are perfectly above 7000 for their own benefit that can please her? You really believe that?

      They all didn't just mimic her opinions on the dresses. So what? What are they there for? Why did she bring them?
      And you forget that this is a reality show. The application supposedly has a list of people you can bring, and then the producers tell you who you have to bring. The episodes all have a story, and the entourage is often part of it. Since all the brides apply to be on this show, they all agree to all the terms. “No more than $7000.” Picks her a dress for $7400 and $7600. I’m convinced these people can’t hear. đŸ€·đŸŒâ€â™€ïžđŸ€ŠđŸŒâ€â™€ïž

    Bride: Not more than 7000
    *brings out all dresses more than 7000*
    So frustrating honestly.
    ALSO, the MIL was great! She gave constructive criticism and wasn't mean in any way, and even the bride's own mom was mostly on the same page with her. The video title was just clickbait and unnecessary! Bride looks beautiful in the dress she picked!

    Stunning gown on her!💜 But didn't she say "up to $7000, no more"? Not counting alterations, tax, the veil and head piece, the gown alone is $7600. MmmmđŸ€”. I'm glad she picked this one too.

    Those brides need to go alone or with their bridesmaids and let them know from jump street that it’s HER WEDDING and HER DRESS.

    • @catladyfromky4142
      @catladyfromky4142 Pƙed 2 lety +4

      Why? This bride wants their opinions. This isn't your wedding dress, it is hers. And she wants other people's perspectives about what she will look nice in. It is not a crime for people - whom the bride purposefully brought - to share their opinions. Some brides want everyone to like their dress. And, since the brides usually marry in a setting with lots of people, they bring people who will be in the "audience" to share what they see. And brides often want people they care about to share in picking a dress. Just because YOU don't want to do it doesn't mean all the other brides have to do it your way.

    As much as the editing tried to make the mother-in-law out to be a nasty woman, I really think they failed lol. She just came off to me as a loving mom who didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, that knows she's an opinionated person, but has it pretty well in check. I liked her :)

    Honestly. Brides need to go shopping for their dress by themselves.

  • @ravenlokidottirsspookystor2701

      As a mother to two sons, I find this very sad. I agree that it should be a special moment for the bride and her mom, but MIL's get left out of a lot of planning, and she actually carried the man the bride is going to marry in her womb. Somehow this is forgotten

    • @ravenlokidottirsspookystor2701
      @ravenlokidottirsspookystor2701 Pƙed rokem

      @@cindyerikson2513 No, it’s not forgotten. Some MIL’s are just outright bitches and shouldn’t have a say in what the Bride wears to her wedding. The MIL isn’t marrying her son, the Bride is. Then you have the good MIL’s who actually like the bride and don’t get jealous over their baby boy having another woman in his life. I have that type of MIL so I’m thankful for that, but I see my wedding dress appointment as intimate so I already have a select few people that will be there and she will not be one of them.
